Chapter 445 The Heavenly Tiger Hall’s Plans

It turns out that both Zhou Shu Ren and Zhou Shu Yu were Heads of a subsidiary Hall, where Zhou Shu Ren was the Hall Leader, and Zhou Shu Yu was the Vice Leader.

"Vice Hall Head, we lost contact with Hall Leader Zhou a few days back, and that Sima You Yue, before he killed off Vice Hall Leader Zhou, announced that he was the one who had killed Hall Leader Zhou." reported the servant who was kneeling on the ground.

"Where are they?" The Vice Head demanded.

"They are all at the Guesthouse Inn." The guard announced.

"Resting in the Guesthouse Inn?" As the members of the Heavenly Tiger Hall heard 'Guesthouse Inn', they furrowed their brows, showing that that was not a place that they wanted to disturb.

"Send men to arrest them all!" The Vice Hall Head ordered angrily.

"Vice Hall Head, I think we should not go down at this time." One of the men in the lower seats suggested.

"And why not?" The Vice Hall Head looked at the man angrily. If he was unable to produce a satisfactory reason, then he would definitely berate him.

The man was not intimidated by his anger, and said, "Those people dared to kill our Hall Leader and Vice Hall Leader out in the streets, and they did so unhesitatingly. If they were not sure of themselves and if they were not this bold to know that they were mighty enough not to be afraid of us, then they would not have dared to touch them after being aware of their identities. If we take action rashly, we might bring even more trouble. It might be wiser for us to send others to check their backgrounds and identities. If it were not for the observations I had mentioned, it would not be too late to arrest them after."

After listening to what he had said, the rest agreed that he was right. His words were reasonable after all.

"Vice Head, I concur with Subsidiary Head Bai's suggestion. These people had suddenly appeared in the Heavenly Tiger Ridge, and we should take this matter seriously. If we have a repeat of what happened with Innkeeper Chou…"

Previously, they had confronted Innkeeper Chou. At that time, he had only brought a young disciple and entered the Great City, and so they had gone to him for the protection fee, only to be rejected. He had also beaten them up, and anyone that they had sent to him for the money ended up being beaten up badly. It was then that they knew that he was someone who was not a pushover. At the end, the Hall Head had to go down personally to apologise to him, and had to compensate him with a large sum of treasures before the issue was settled down.

Afterwards, Innkeeper Chou set up an Inn in the Great City, and named it the Guesthouse Inn. From then on, that place became a special place within the Great City, because it was only at this place where they Hall was afraid to go to to extort a protection fee.

It had been a long time since that happened, and yet such a thing was happening again. This time, they had to deal with the situation properly.

The Vice Hall Head also thought about these things and said, "Since that is the case, then we will send our men to the Guesthouse Inn to observe their movements and action, and then we'll have people to do a background check on them."

"Back then, Subsidiary Head Zhou had gone over to the Zhuo family's area before he got lost. I think we should send people there to investigate as well, perhaps we might find something."

"Go."

"Yes, Vice Hall Head."

Sima You Yue and the rest continued to stay at the Guesthouse Inn. The people living around the area had initially thought that the Heavenly Tiger Hall members would send people to deal with them, but even after a day, there seemed to be no movement. It was only as the innkeeper was doing his accounts, when he suddenly sensed that there was a crowd outside his doors. But he simply smiled and said nothing.

Sima You Yue and the rest were rather surprised that no one had come looking for them as well, and their suspicions grew. But after a while, they started to feel as though they were being watched from the outside, and knew that the Heavenly Tiger Hall had probably sent people to keep watch on them. But they were not afraid or anxious and continued to stay at the Inn, but for the fear of being caught, they did not go out to shop or look around.

In the next two days, Sima You Yue and Bei Gong Tang had gone downstairs and approached the counter, smiling. They looked at Innkeeper Chou and said, "It looks like Innkeeper Chou's earnings are more than usual!"

Innkeeper Chou saw the smile on Sima You Yue's face, and took note to keep an eye on the crystals under the counter. He said, "This is not certain. If you guys get killed by the Heavenly Tiger Hall, I'll lose a lot of this money!"

With that, he tossed out a book and said, "Look at this thick book! All these people are betting on your death."Sima You Yue grabbed it and looked through it. Huh. At least ten thousand individuals had bet on the fact that they Heavenly Tiger Hall would destroy them!

Innkeeper Chou took out another book and said, "These are those that bet on you being safe." Sima You Yue took the book and went through them very quickly. Because there were only a few hundred people who had this sentiment, it barely took up a few pages.

"What about the last outcome?" She recalled that there was one last option where they destroyed the Heavenly Tiger Hall, yet he had not taken out that record.

"There's not a single person betting on that." Innkeeper Chou said. "I say, if I wasn't the one carrying out the gamble, I would have bet on that one. But I can't bet on that, because I won't get paid anyway."

Sima You Yue saw that Innkeeper Chou's expression seemed as though he thought that he would lose a lot of money, and said, "If you dare to bet like that, aren't you afraid that you might lose everything?"

"I've lived for so long, I know how to read people." Innkeeper Chou said.

Sima You Yue smiled and said, "Seeing Innkeeper Chou's attitude towards the Zhou siblings, and his refined mannerisms, I might conclude that you might actually be a monster that has lived for more than a thousand years." Indeed, Innkeeper Chou did look like a middle-aged man, and his white clothes made him look even more graceful, except that his eyes, that were filled with greed, were a dead giveaway. Hearing what she said, Innkeeper Chou's lips curled.

A thousand year old monster? He wasn't that old! He should at least get that right!

"Let's say, as we had agreed, since you've taken us on a bet, then we must have a share of the winnings. I don't want much, I just want half of it." Sima You Yue smiled, saying.

"Half?" Innkeeper Chou jumped at the words that came out of her mouth. "You guys did nothing, why should you get half?"

"Why not?" Sima You Yue said. "Don't you do nothing as well? You just write down people's names and stuff, but we're actually putting in the effort to fight!"

"But you can't do that!" Innkeeper Chou flatly disagreed. "I'll give you a third."

"A third…" Sima You Yue put both her hands on the counter and stared right at Innkeeper Chou, saying, "Do you believe me when I say that I can make it such that you do not earn a single cent, and even have to sacrifice your fortune for it all?"

Innkeeper Chou's eyelids twitched. His intuition told him that she might actually do as she says.

"Alright, alright." He waved her off, saying, "I can give you half. But don't ask me for such a high price next time." He was shocked by what he said, how did he give way so easily?

Sima You Yue smiled and said, "We'll see how things go! But seeing how easygoing Innkeeper Chou is, next time, I'll give you a discount of ten percent." With that, she and Bei Gong Tang prepared to leave, only to come back after taking a couple of steps, saying, "All these outcomes aren't accurate, you can entice more people to come and make their bet." They then turned around and left, leaving Innkeeper Chou to savour what she had said.

Not a single prediction was accurate? Could there be other possibilities? Should he believe what he said?

Forget it, it might be better to believe him. If he had to pay at the end of the day, that fellow would not be able to earn anyway.

Thinking about all this, he suddenly slapped his thigh and exclaimed, "Darn it! We've agreed that if I won, then he would have half of the winnings, but we said nothing about him paying half of it if I lost the money!"
