672 Nangong Mingzhu

Mo Wen's speed shocked all the human warriors. Not even a typical martial arts grandmaster could achieve such a speed, much less those at the pinnacle of the Golden Elixir Realm. There was probably only one in ten martial arts grandmasters who could reach this speed.

"That doesn't look like an ordinary movement technique. Why do I vaguely feel the power of the Law? That's impossible! How could an ordinary warrior have the power of the Law?" Nangong Mingzhu's pupils shrank. She could sense an unusual aura from the strength that Mo Wen displayed. The power of the Law was something only immortal cultivators could grasp. Warriors could not even use the lowest level power of the Law.

Nangong Mingzhu had a good understanding of warriors. It was impossible to use any movement technique to achieve such speed.

The woman in white was not any random person but was in the number one position on the Leaderboard of the 30 strongest practitioners. There were dozens of sects and hundreds of excellent practitioners. Being able to outshine the rest and be on the leaderboard meant that this woman was very powerful.

Gao Hanshan, Bu Xingyi, and the others were all shocked too. Mo Wen's speed was astounding. It was a speed that they could not achieve even at their martial arts grandmaster cultivation level. Gao Hanshan knew that Mo Wen had grasped a mysterious body technique. The body technique was special and hard to predict, meaning that Mo Wen could easily dodge high-level attacks.

However, in terms of speed, the movement technique was not that impressive. It had only been a few days since they last met. Why did Mo Wen seem as if he changed?

Bu Xingyi's expression grew grave. The more powerful Mo Wen grew, the angrier Bu Xingyi felt. It was as if there was something stuck in his throat.

"It seems like the power of the Law, but yet it is not…What is happening?" The leader of the Ghost Lair, Chu Yuan, wore a black robe that covered him from head to toe. Only a pair of green eyes could be seen. His eyes were filled with shock and confusion.

"I want to see what else he can do." Nangong Mingzhu's eyes flashed and she stretched out a long pale finger and made a mysterious gesture.

"Divine movement technique." A mysterious force appeared on Nangong Mingzhu. The power was odd. When Nangong Mingzhu stepped forward, she traveled 10 meters. Her speed increased exponentially. It looked as if she was going to catch up with Mo Wen.

Mo Wen had only wanted to fly a good distance before the monstrous beasts appeared. Usually, he would not use the Glory of Wind technique so easily. This was because the Glory of Wind technique expended too much inner Qi. With his current cultivation, he feared that he might not be able to last for long.

However, it was different here. With the recovery light, he could recover all his inner Qi immediately. As such, he did not need to worry about his inner Qi being used up. He had killed many monstrous beasts earlier. He did not know how many he had killed in total, but he had managed to rake in quite an amount of resources.

He had so many recovery lights that he was not willing to do a stock take. He only knew that he had 27 mid-grade recovery lights. A mid-grade recovery light could repair his cultivation levels in an instant. As such, he did not have to worry about his inner Qi being used up.

He had no intention of competing with others when he used the Glory of Wind technique. However, a woman had him as her target and seemed to take him as her competition.

There was a flash of white that covered a hundred meters in just an instant. It followed behind Mo Wen closely. Nangong Mingzhu, who had been left behind by Mo Wen, was closing the distance between them and it started to look like she would be able to overtake him.

Mo Wen raised his eyebrows as he looked behind him in shock. The woman wearing a white robe was looking at him with a look of challenge.

"How is she so fast?" Mo Wen was secretly shocked. He was only this fast because he was using the Glory of Wind technique. He did not know where the mysterious woman had come from but she seemed to be able to travel faster than the Glory of Wind technique.

A playful smirk appeared on Mo Wen's lips. Then, the wind between the heaven and earth whistled and Mo Wen was enveloped by a whirlwind. His figure appeared in the distance and his speed grew, further widening the distance between him and Nangong Mingzhu.

Nangong Mingzhu, who had thought that she was about to catch up with Mo Wen, was shocked. A grim look flashed in her eyes. "He definitely has the power of the Law. Who exactly is he?"

She was now certain that Mo Wen could use the power of the Law. Otherwise, he would not have been able to do something so different. Could he be an immortal cultivator? But, he didn't seem like one…

Nangong Mingzhu did not want to lose. She harrumphed and a ball of jade green light suddenly lit up behind her. Then, a pair of thin, cicada wings appeared on her back. They were like dragonfly wings and they emitted a beautiful jade green sheen of light.

The moment the jade green wings appeared, Nangong Mingzhu's disposition immediately changed. Her wings flapped gently and she turned into a ray of light that flew several hundred feet in an instant.

"Immortal cultivator!" Mo Wen's eyes froze. The woman in white was a rare immortal cultivator.

He could tell the difference between an immortal cultivator and a warrior. Even though warriors could use spiritual weapons, there was an intrinsic difference between them. Even here, where one could use inner Qi as spiritual power, there was still a large difference between the two.

Immortal cultivators could put spiritual weapons inside them. They could do this through original strength and inner fire and cultivation; they would be able to bond strongly with the spiritual weapons. Spiritual weapons could increase in grade because of an immortal cultivator's improvement in realm and the amount of time the weapon was cultivated for. A low-grade spiritual weapon could, after several decades or centuries of cultivation, become a mid-grade spiritual weapon with the hard work of an immortal cultivator.

It could, however, be difficult for the spiritual weapon's owner to cultivate a spiritual weapon through this method and to fully activate the power of the spiritual weapon.

Of course, in theory, a spiritual weapon could continue to rise through the grades through the cultivation of an immortal cultivator. It could become a profound level weapon, an evolved spiritual treasure…

But in actual fact, such instances were extremely rare. The rise through the grades of a spiritual weapon had very much to do with the cultivation of an immortal cultivator. However, it had even more to do with the material of the spiritual weapon. For example, if the material of the spiritual weapon was very ordinary, then it would be extremely difficult to cultivate it to the next grade.

If the material of the spiritual weapon was a top grade treasure, then even if it was a low-grade spiritual treasure right after it had been made, it could continue to rise through the grades and possibly become an evolved spiritual treasure through the cultivation of an immortal cultivator.

There were many differences between immortal cultivators and ordinary cultivators. The use of spiritual treasures was just one. However, one could tell whether one was an immortal cultivator or an ordinary warrior through the way they used spiritual weapons.

The Jade Green Cicada Wings spiritual treasure of the woman in white was cultivated by herself. It was usually hidden and she would be able to release it with a single thought.

The Jade Green Cicada Wings was just a mid-grade spiritual treasure but when the woman in white, who was the owner and cultivator of the wings, used them then the power of the wings was just as powerful as a profound level weapon would be in the hands of a warrior.

The jade shone brightly. Nangong Mingzhu narrowed the distance between her and Mo Wen. With the help of the Jade Green Cicada Wings, Nangong Mingzhu's speed was shocking.

In just moments, Nangong Mingzhu caught up with Mo Wen and she flashed by him.

She lifted her chin slightly and looked at Mo Wen coldly and proudly. Then, she ignored him and flew forward looking like a preening and victorious peacock.

"What's she so proud about!" Mo Wen rolled his eyes and harrumphed so softly it almost could not be heard. Then, he continued flying forward, looking rather dispirited.

Even though the Glory of Wind technique was powerful, Mo Wen's cultivation was not as strong as Nangong Mingzhu. She was an immortal cultivator and had the divine movement technique as well as flying spiritual weapons that she could use to boost her power. He could no longer catch up, even if he were to risk his life, and there was no use in trying to do so. There was no way for him to close the distance between them.

Behind them, Chu Yuan, who was wearing black robes, continued flying forward in an unhurried manner. His jade green eyes stared at Nangong Mingzhu, his eyes shining brightly for some reason. He was probably the only one who knew of Nangong Mingzhu's true identity.

At first, he had thought that there was only a weak martial arts grandmaster leading those from Demonic Sky and therefore he saw no threat to the Ghost Lair. However, he had not expected that Demonic Sky had plotted against him while he planned to plot against them. He had also not expected that the true leader of the Demonic Sky who had come this time would be Nangong Mingzhu.

Fortunately, the tower spirit was in charge of the rules and order inside the Fighting Spirit Tower. It had created this Game of Death and had made it clear that no one could hide. Otherwise, the Demonic Sky would be hidden and the Ghost Lair would have suffered a huge disadvantage.

As someone from the Ghost Lair, Chu Yuan had never treated those ancient martial arts practitioner as his opponents. His only opponent was the Demonic sky.

The appearance of Nangong Mingzhu was already a threat towards him.

Roar Roar Roar!

The images of the monstrous beasts walking slowly towards the stone ocean grew clearer and clearer. Finally, monstrous beasts appeared one after another. It seemed like there was an endless flow of monsters and their auras were powerful. The space between heaven and earth was filled with intense coldness.

Mo Wen discovered that the areas in front of him, behind him and to his left and right were all filled with monstrous beasts in just the blink of an eye. He glanced around him to find that even though there were a lot of monstrous beasts here, there were not many high-level monstrous beasts. Out of around every 100 beasts, only one was at the seventh level.

To the human warriors, whose least powerful of them was a warrior at the pinnacle of the Golden Elixir realm, the wave of monstrous beasts was not much of a threat. However, Mo Wen knew that this was only the beginning.

Mo Wen waved his hand and five bronze hoops flew out from his sleeves. They were the Five Beast Hoops.

The Five Beast Hoops turned into five spiritual beasts the moment they appeared. Each of them had cultivation levels that were above the seventh level and their combat abilities were very strong.

Of course, this was not the best the Five Beast Hoops could do. If Mo Wen was willing, he could even make it so that the five spiritual beasts could have cultivation at the peak of the seventh level. However, this would be too much of an expense on his inner Qi. Even if Mo Wen had enough mid-grade recovery light, he would not be able to maintain such expenditure under normal circumstances.

Five post seventh level spiritual beasts were already strong enough and would have no problems dealing with ordinary monstrous beasts. Since these spiritual beasts came from spiritual weapons, they would not die nor perish. Monstrous beasts were helpless going against such things that could not be killed as well.

The five spiritual beasts leaped into the crowd of monstrous beasts and killed them with all their might. At least half of Mo Wen's inner Qi went to maintaining the energy needed by the five spiritual beasts. If he had not cultivated the Celestial Scripture: Sun and Moon to the eighth level and was, therefore, able to replenish his inner Qi quickly, he would have needed the recovery light to recover his inner Qi in less than 15 minutes.
