704 Massacre

A gigantic monstrous beast was roaming the forest. The monstrous beast was more than fifty meters long and more than ten meters tall. Everywhere it passed was turned to chaos. Trees were knocked down and the shrubs were crushed into the muddy ground by the beast's enormous feet, leaving deep footprints behind.

Based on its aura, one could tell that it was a Beast King with a cultivation that was deep and rich.

The sky was suddenly illuminated by a bolt of lightning. The next moment, a silhouette appeared above the forest. As soon as it appeared, the silhouette moved quickly towards the Beast King.

Roar!

The Beast King was rather alert. It noticed the enemy's attack at once. It roared loudly and its body emitted a blinding purple light. The majestic power formed a circle, enveloping its gigantic body in the purple light.

However, the swooping silhouette ignored the protective circle. A golden light appeared, instantly emanating a high degree of heat. All the trees within a hundred meters ignited by themselves. The boiling aura seemed to be enough to melt even steel.

The golden silhouette crashed straight into the purple light, slamming forcefully into the Beast King.

Rumble!

The gigantic Beast King was sent flying by the crash. A large number of trees toppled down and a sizable patch of the forest was razed to the ground.

The golden silhouette was merely the size of a human, yet it could send the Beast King, which was the size of a hill, flying. The terrifying force that the golden silhouette demonstrated was beyond a human's ability.

A light flickered and Mo Wen gradually appeared from the golden light. He was wearing a white shirt and a calm expression, yet his body emanated an unparalleled, terrifying aura. His aura was akin to that of a Martial Arts Grandmaster.

A little less than half a day had passed since the double cultivation reward had started. Mo Wen was constantly looking for Beast Kings everywhere. He specifically picked Beast Kings to kill. Time slipped past and he had killed twenty to thirty Beast Kings. His cultivation had once again improved, breaking through to the pinnacle of the Golden Elixir Realm.

Even though Mo Wen only had pinnacle of Golden Elixir Realm cultivation, when compared to others, his cultivation was equivalent to that of a Martial Arts Grandmaster. His cultivation was even a level higher than that of an average Martial Arts Grandmaster.

Right now, common Beast Kings paled into insignificance when faced with Mo Wen.

Roar!

The Beast King let out an earth-shattering shriek. A huge hole appeared on its body. Blood oozed out and its internal organs were partly visible. Nobody knew how many bones it had fractured.

The Beast King monstrous beast struggled to rise to its feet. It stared at Mo Wen in terror. Its eyes were both angry and scared. The force of the crash just now had been powerful enough to stupefy the dignified Beast King.

Mo Wen's figure flashed past and he traversed a few hundred meters, appearing in front of the Beast King. In his left hand was a long sword covered in flames. It was as though the God of War had arrived.

The Beast King stared intensely at Mo Wen. A wary look filled its eyes. Its body leaned forward slightly, ready to fight Mo Wen to the death.

Mo Wen's mouth curled to form a smile. Lightning flashed past his body and a large amount of blue lightning appeared on the surface of his body. The next moment, a terrifying aura appeared on Mo Wen, similar to the aura from before this when he crashed into the Beast King. The aura was formidable, far surpassing that of the common Beast Kings.

Howl!

The injured Beast King growled. It had lost all its desire to fights and instead turned and fled. It transformed into a mass of purple light, charging ferociously towards the mountains in the distance.

Even Beast Kings could feel fear. When they felt that their lives were threatened, they would also wish to escape.

However, Mo Wen had no intention of allowing his prey to escape. A tornado suddenly stirred up in the forest. The next moment, Mo Wen disappeared from his original spot and reappeared in the sky above the purple light Beast King. Bolts of lightning and flames were leaping on the Sacred Fire Sword in his hand.

The sword light gleamed. The thunder and flames charged. A terrifying aura lingered in the forest, as though there were innumerable Sword Qi filling the place. All the trees splintered one by one, transforming into wooden sticks with the diameter of a thumb. The cut was neat and smooth. All the tree branches broke off.

The head of the purple light Beast King flew off its body. Its blood splattered wide and far. Its enormous body crumpled instantly, completely disintegrated by the Sword Qi which filled the whole forest.

Specks of starlight appeared. The Beast King's body gradually disappeared, transforming into starlight and gushing into Mo Wen's body.

At the same time, a mass of blue light appeared in mid-air. It was a top grade Healing Light.

Killing Beast Kings would almost always be rewarded with light tools, and they were all top grade light tools. Mo Wen had killed close to thirty Beast Kings. Now he had collected more than twenty top grade Recovery Lights and close to ten top grade Healing Lights.

When the contest had first started, a few tools would usually drop when Mo Wen killed a Beast King. Now, only one light tool was dropping. It seemed as though as their cultivation increased, the probability of them getting light tools decreased by quite a lot.

Mo Wen's silhouette flashed and his figure gradually disappeared in the forest. He started searching for the next Beast King.

Mo Wen was uncertain of whether it was because everyone's cultivation had been increased, but he noticed that there now were more and more Beast Kings. Before this, it was hard to track one down and now he could find them easily. Moreover, there were many high-rank monstrous beasts accumulated at certain special regions. Mo Wen frequently encountered situations where there were more than ten Beast Kings appearing in packs.

Mo Wen walked through a bamboo forest and found two Beast Kings, one male, and one female, beside a creek. He killed them.

As time passed, the amount of Beast Kings killed by Mo Wen increased and his cultivation increased too.

However, the pinnacle of the Golden Elixir Realm and the Martial Arts Grandmaster Realm were but a watershed moment apart. Wanting to cross over required huge amounts of power. Mo Wen roughly estimated that he still needed to kill at least a hundred Beast Kings to make up for the difference.

A hundred Beast Kings was a terrifying number to even think about. Under normal circumstances, it would be almost impossible to achieve in one day. Even Martial Arts Grandmasters that had reached the second realm most likely could not do it. Maybe only the legendary third realm Martial Arts Grandmasters had the capability to do so.

Of course, this was for Mo Wen's standard. The power he needed to increase by one rank was too high. An ordinary ancient martial art practitioner would only need to kill twenty or so Beast Kings to rise from the pinnacle of the Golden Elixir Realm to the Martial Arts Grandmaster Realm.

The ancient martial art practitioners who originally had Martial Arts Grandmaster cultivation and only needed to unseal their cultivation would probably only need to kill ten Beast Kings in order to completely recover their cultivation.

Hence, after the doubling reward emerged, the cultivation of human ancient martial art practitioners kept rising and more Martial Arts Grandmasters appeared. The strong practitioners who were originally Martial Arts Grandmasters very quickly returned to the Martial Arts Grandmaster realm.

With the doubling reward, Mo Wen only needed to kill fifty Beast Kings and he could reach the Martial Arts Grandmaster realm. Even so, it was still a rather terrifying number.

Mo Wen's silhouette traversed the forest. When he encountered a Beast King, he killed it. Aside from those Pinnacle Beast Kings that Mo Wen did not dare casually offend, he was not afraid of other Beast Kings at all.

After passing through a stone forest, Mo Wen appeared in a valley. He had headed there because he had detected that there were many strong auras in the valley. He examined his surroundings and was astonished to discover that there was at least more than ten Beast Kings in the valley.

"Who goes there? Who dares trespass into our territory?"

As soon as Mo Wen flew into the valley, an arrogant voice sounded. The voice was like a bronze gong. It shook the ground, making the stones tremble.

A black light flashed and a huge wolf type monstrous beast appeared from deep within the valley, blocking Mo Wen.

The wolf beast had jet black fur and a pair of wings. On its hideous wolf head, there were three eyes. They were light green in color and they gazed intently at Mo Wen. The aura of this monstrous beast was rather frightening. It was a Beast King, and its cultivation was high.

"The person who will send you to your grave," Mo Wen said plainly. The next moment, a purple light flashed and the Cries of Hades Bell appeared in his hands. Its purple light blazed and a formless wave flew out. In the blink of an eye, it collided with the wolf type Beast King's body.

Dong! Dong!

The wolf type Beast King felt a buzz in its mind as though thousands of large bells were suddenly ringing at the same time. Its vision turned pitch black and it could not see anything at all as its consciousness descended into darkness.

Lightning flashed and Mo Wen appeared before the wolf type Beast King. The Blood Clotting Claw appeared without on his right hand. Mo Wen shook his hand, and a huge crimson claw the size of a building appeared before the wolf type Beast King. He clenched his five fingers and immediately crushed the wolf type Beast King's head.

With his cultivation at the Martial Arts Grandmaster realm, the might of the Blood-Clotting Claw was now incomparable to its earlier power. It emanated an enormous power, seemingly able to crush even a mountain.

"Who goes there? Who dares trespass into my territory?"

The death of the wolf type Beast King set off a chain reaction in the valley. More than ten terrifying auras appeared. The terrifying pressure was like a tornado swirling up into the heavens. They were all Beast Kings.

There was an aura among them that was exceptionally powerful. It was comparable that of the Fire Domain's Peacock Beast King. It was equivalent to the Martial Arts Grandmaster Second Realm.

"Huh? A second realm Beast King."

A look of astonishment flashed in Mo Wen's eyes. He had not expected that a second realm Beast King would be hiding in this valley. A second realm Beast King was several times more powerful than an ordinary Beast King.

Normally, ordinary Beast Kings were first realm Beast Kings. More powerful ones were second realm Beast Kings. Then, the most powerful Pinnacle Beast Kings were third realm Beast Kings.

A beam of golden light flashed. A bizarre monstrous beast appeared before Mo Wen. The monstrous beast's figure was small, measuring only four meters long and two meters tall. Its appearance was that of a lion, but its body was covered with scales from top to bottom. The scales flashed with golden light.

Although the monstrous beast was small compared to other Beast Kings and did not seem majestic or towering, it was the Beast King that had reached the second realm that Mo Wen had sensed.

Behind this second realm Beast King, huge shadows appeared one after another. They were all Beast Kings. Although they were all first realm Beast Kings, there were twelve of them.

"It's been a long time since anyone had dared to act so brazenly in my territory. Human, you will pay the price in blood." The second realm Beast King's golden gaze coldly stared at Mo Wen. Its eyes were full of a cold and condescending majesty.

"More than ten Beast Kings, and a second realm existence. Now, I can have a feast."

Mo Wen did not panic when faced with so many Beast Kings. Instead, he smiled slightly. Then, the next moment, he slowly took out a shining silver spear from his storage ring. On the spear, silver lightning leaped constantly.
