981 Breaking the Seal

Mo Wen couldn't use Heavenly Serpent Divine Spear, and normal weapons were useless to him. In that case, he might as well use his bare fists.

A blinding gold light shone through the sky filled with spear shadows. A blast of heat like the sun erupted, the sweeping waves of spear shadows unexpectedly showing signs of melting.

A silhouette walked out slowly amongst the spear shadows. Any spear shadow that got close to Mo Wen was shattered. Just one of them was enough to kill a cultivator from the Primordial Soul Realm intermediary stage, yet the waves of spear shadows did not harm Mo Wen.

"Eight of your bodies were at most the level of Primordial Soul great attainment. Even if all of them unite, you would not be a threat to me. You'd better merge your bodies."

Mo Wen said calmly. The bull-headed man had eight powerful bodies, all capable of releasing the power of Primordial Soul great attainment. However, this was no longer the past. After the reformation by sculpted spirit heavenly fire and created embryonic heavenly furnace, his cultivation level had already reached Primordial Soul great attainment. Moreover, his energy was the mighty Yin Yang Qi, which exceeded the usual level of a normal cultivator.

After Chu Yu had broken through to the Primordial Soul Realm, the spiritual power in his body was at most the level of Primordial Soul great attainment, not even on par with his current state. His current state had already exceeded the common knowledge of normal people.

"Incredible!"

The bull-headed man opened his eyes widely and stared at Mo Wen. This man was unexpectedly strong, even stronger than the previous man!

Waving his hands, Mo Wen summoned a long spear burning with golden flames agglomerated in them. The terrifying flames seemed to be capable of burning a hole through the sky.

Following a vibration, numerous spear shadows appeared as the eight bodies of the bull-headed man were sent flying off.

However, the body of the bull-headed man was indeed powerful. Even Mo Wen's strike failed to leave any marks on his body. Nobody knew what kind of materials were used to concoct his body, but the materials for this type of sentience puppet were special. Thus, the body would not be as difficult to destroy compared to those steel puppets.

"It's burning me!"

The bull-headed man kept howling, feeling the scorching heat of ultimate Yang Power as the hair on his body appeared to be burnt.

Mo Wen looked at the bull-headed man with delight. Instead of pursuing relentlessly, he stood by and allowed the bull-headed man to merge his few bodies into one.

However, Mo Wen was not bothered by this. Instead, he wished that the bull-headed man was even stronger so that he could test his abilities.

Roar!

Letting out a roar, the bull-headed man finally combined his eight bodies. His body expanded a few times larger than before, over ten meters tall and emitting strong waves of pressure.

"Is this the infinite power of the Primordial Soul Realm?"

Mo Wen was secretly impressed. After the eight bodies were combined, its power became no weaker than that of the infinite Primordial Soul Realm. This type of puppet was not so simple, but even if its power had reached the stage of infinite Primordial Soul Realm, that did not mean it was comparable to the strong practitioners of the infinite Primordial Soul Realm. Strong practitioners of the infinite Primordial Soul Realm were not just strong in terms of power.

"Now die!"

The bull-headed man felt that his earlier performance was slightly embarrassing. Letting out a roar, he decided to save a bit of his face.

"Come, let's test our powers against each other."

Mo Wen was slightly interested. He danced around with the flaming long spear in his hands, while the bull-headed man pulled out a thousand fists. As terrifying power continued to clash, energy from the entire Battle Platform exploded like fireworks and violently shook the platform.

Mo Wen and the bull-headed man instantly lashed out at each other a thousand times. In the end, Mo Wen lost and was forced to retreat close to the edge of the Battle Platform.

"Terrific! Terrific!"

Mo Wen marveled at the bull-headed man's power. He was the type of puppet to use brute force, so even Mo Wen could not compare with him in terms of strength. Of course, that was because he had yet to release his Celestial Body, but just using his own Yin Yang Qi and normal body condition to fight.

After attempting one round, Mo Wen roughly estimated the limit of his normal power. With this information, he was no longer interested in battling with the bull-headed man.

The attack of Fury of Thunder!

Thunder roared in the sky, followed by the descent of a massive thunderbolt striking the body of the gigantic bull-headed man fiercely and sending him into the air.

The astounding power of the thunderbolt resulted in a massive, see-through hole measuring about two meters in diameter on the bull-headed man's body.

Normal people would have died if they sustained such injuries. However, the body of the bull-headed man fell apart and transformed into eight bodies again.

Yet, this round was different from the previous one. All eight of his bodies were more or less injured, either lacking an arm or a leg.

"You win!" the bull-headed man roared. He didn't want to accept his defeat, but he had to admit that the young man was much more powerful than the previous man.

"Thank you, Brother Bull, for going easy on me," Mo Wen laughed.

"Hmph!"

The bull-headed man snorted, ignoring Mo Wen as he vanished from the challenge ring. Although he sustained his own injuries in this battle, he could borrow and use the power of the entire Path of Creation to restore his body. Even if he were completely destroyed and reduced to particles, he could be revived.

A gigantic swirl appeared above the sky, similar to Chu Yu's previous situation.

However, Mo Wen did not choose to enter the swirl right away. Instead, he stepped down from the Battle Platform and found a place where he sat cross-legged.

Merely passing through one of the Battle Platforms was not his goal. He had also wanted to pass through the other platform. Only by doing so, he would be able to obtain the other half of the illusionary spirit divine wings as the final reward.

Yet on the other Battle Platform, just possessing strength would not suffice. The assessment in the Arts Battle Platform was based on Hundred Arts of the Immortals such as manufacturing techniques, talismans techniques, alchemy arts and more.

Mo Wen thought hard about it. He was hopeless in learning most of the arts, but he might still have a chance at alchemy arts. His only setback was that his present ability on alchemy arts was still very much lacking, so he had to obtain even more heritage from Ji Wuya to pass through the Arts Battle Platform.

'Even more heritage!' Mo Wen closed his eyes slowly. Many seals were pasted on Ji Wuya's Primordial Soul Pearl. He needed to reach a certain level of cultivation before he could break the seal. The previous time he broke the seal was when he was still in the Golden Elixir realm. Ever since then, he had not tried breaking it.

With his present cultivation, he should be able to break many seals at once. The power of the soul was of utmost importance for breaking the seal of the Primordial Seal Pearl. He had mastered the first layer of Divine Soul Trillion Layers, comparable with the Deified Soul Power of Tide Changing Realm. Therefore, breaking a few seals of Ji Wuya was expected to be a piece of cake.

Mo Wen's psyche slowly entered the declarative memory where a green round pearl was slowly rotating. The green round pearl was like a sea immobilizing divine pearl, enveloping his entire declarative memory.

A silhouette dressed in white appeared in front of the green round pearl; it was Mo Wen's primordial soul.

"Break!"

Mo Wen's primordial soul pointed forward, and spiritual power instantly clashed with the green round pearl. Ripples formed on the pearl, and a snapping sound was heard as if something had just cracked.

Shortly afterward, numerous signals emerged and entered Mo Wen's mind.

The primordial soul of Mo Wen did not stop, even when the driving force clashed onto the Primordial Soul Pearl.

"Break!"

"Break!"

"Break!"

...

He consecutively broke five seals in a short time. Terrifying spiritual power filled the entire declarative memory and set off a soul storm.

A massive amount of signals kept appearing and eventually gathered into Mo Wen's mind. With so many signals, the brain seemed to have a hard time handling them. Fortunately, Mo Wen had a strong soul that was able to withstand the signal waves' repeated attacks.

"Ji Wuya's Primordial Soul Pearl had a total of nine seals. I've broken the first seven seals, but the eighth and ninth seals are not so easy to break."

As Mo Wen slowly retreated from the declarative memory, he had broken five seals. Finally, he had truly obtained Ji Wuya's heritage. As a massive amount of signals appeared in his mind, he calmed himself down and tried his best to absorb everything as if his brain were a sponge.

After some time, Mo Wen slowly opened his eyes. Compared to before, his eyes had deepened, filled with spiritual light that only the most experienced and knowledgeable of people would have.

"I've learned all the alchemy techniques of Ji Wuya from Primordial Soul Realm to Supreme Profundity realm. Although a total merger still requires a certain amount of time, I can already be considered a disciple of the Medicine Sage."

Mo Wen smiled while eyeing the other Battle Platform, suddenly feeling a surge in confidence.

Taking off, he immediately appeared on the Arts Battle Platform.

As he just managed to stand still, streaks of light surrounded him and obscured his view. At the same time, many ancient characters appeared in the empty sky and arranged in an orderly manner in front of Mo Wen. Even though Mo Wen could not recognize those ancient names as it was the first time he had seen them, he could naturally understand what they meant.

Alchemy, refined weaponry, manufacturing talisman, manufacturing stratagem, puppet...

Those words were options that one could choose to be assessed.

Naturally, Mo Wen chose alchemy.

After the selection, the scene around him changed again. An alchemy furnace and some medicinal herbs appeared in front of Mo Wen. Upon careful examination, he realized that they were authentic profound level medicinal herbs.

In the past, Mo Wen had never used profound level medicinal herbs while practicing alchemy. There was only one time when he used a bit of Golden Thread Cloud Ginseng while concocting a ninth-rank spiritual pill.

Mo Wen had never used entirely profound level medicinal herbs as materials for alchemy.

Everything was profound-level medicinal herbs. Even pills concocted normally were also profound-level pills. In the past, Mo Wen was incapable of concocting profound-level pills.

Even the lousiest profound level pill in terms of ranking was enough to cause bloodshed in the Primordial Soul Realm.

In general, cultivators who could use a profound-level pill were mostly from the Tide Changing Realm and Supreme Profundity Realm.

Other than medicinal herbs and alchemy furnace, there were also Jade inscriptions that contained a recipe.

The task for the assessment was simple; to concoct the relevant pill according to the recipe. Only three portions of materials were given, implying that he only had three chances to do it correctly.

Profound-level second-grade!

Mo Wen gasped. The profound-level second-grade pill was hard to obtain even for normal cultivators from the preliminary stage of the Tide Changing Realm, yet he was being told to concoct it.

If it were in the past, Mo Wen would not have dreamt about it. Even so, he would've wanted to give it a try. Upon receiving Ji Wuya's heritage, he should've been able to concoct a profound-level nine-grade pill. Of course, that was only in theory. In reality, it was impossible for him at the moment. Nevertheless, he still retained some confidence if the pill he needed to make was only second-grade. Regardless, he wouldn't have been upset even if he spoilt the medicinal herbs since they were not his anyway.
