Chapter 143 - A Good Evening...

The Iris Palace was deadly silent. With all the lights switched off and closed windows.

"This is giving me kind of bad vibes," Brazen said as he looked around the down floor where not even a single speck of dust was present.

"Let's check upstairs." Alan without wasting any time said as he ran upstairs along with Brazen and didn't stop until they reached violet's room.

"Lady Carot? Are you in there?" Alan said politely while knocking at her door but no answer came and he stayed there for a few more minutes before breaking in using his powers.

"Woah! You know this is trespassing into their private life, right?" Brazen who was in the mood to joke said while looking at the simple room with the faint smell of jasmine in the air.

"Looks like she isn't here yet? But Lady Smith stayed clearly that she left her in her room." Brazen said as he touched the bed which was cold, meaning no one has sat or slept there yet.

"Maybe she went somewhere else after Lady smith left her here," Alan said as he went out of the room and closed the door just like the way it was before.

"Now since she isn't at the banquet or the Palace then where is she?" Brazen questioned while scratching the back of his neck.

Whereas, Alan's eyes were fixed outside the window where the moon was shining brightly.

And below that shining moon, Violet was lying down on the green grass away from everyone.

She laid there without a single voice but just wondering eyes that looked at the moon with a perplexed soul.

And right when she tried to close her eyes, she felt some footsteps coming near her.

"Who is there?" She asked while clenching one of her fists ready to punch anyone who came in between.

"Why aren't you answering?" She asked again while removing the flower creepers that was hiding that person's face.

.

"Did I scare you?" That person said while holding onto her hands which were about to punch him.

"Sir Ethan....why are you here and why didn't respond? I could have hurt you right now!"  Violet nagged him with a serious look on her face but soon stopped when she noticed the red mark ok his face and his swollen eyes.

.

"You---What's wrong with you?" She asled while among him sit down with her.

"Why is your face red and your eyes they are swollen...have you been crying?" Violet asked knowing well enough that the person before her won't answer her.

.

"What are you doing here?" He asked in his usual tone and facial expression.

"Breathing..." Violet replied to him while lying down again.

.

"I see...Is your face fine?" He asked Violet who just nodded her head and said, "Your sister must work out a lot. She almost made me dizzy one slap." She joked around trying to and his laugh but Ethan didn't feel like so.

"That good then...I shall take my leave. You keep breathing." He said as he was about to stand up but Violet held onto his hand and pulled him down again.

"Who said you could leave?" She asked with a dominating tone making Ethan to flinch a bit.

"Do I need to take your permission to leave now?" He snapped back at her with a confident look outside all though inside he didn't dare to look at her.

"You don't need to but I am a lady all alone in this vast garden aren't you worried about what can happen to me? You are a knight, so protect me." She said with a smile on her face to which Ethan couldn't help but agree with after all what she said is true.

.

"Fine then..." He said while sighing at sitting beside her. Seeing him agree with her Violet couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment which was seen clearly on her bright face that was even beautiful under the moonlight.

.

"Good choice! since you have agreed to my request I shall give you a reward." She said while looking at Ethan.

"Reward me?" He asked just to confirm if his ears are working right or not.

"Of course you! Wait...*brings out a basket from the behind of the bushes*..here take this!" She said while handing him the basket which was a bit heavy and suspensions.

"What are this?" He asked not sure what to do with it.

.

"Open it and see yourself." She said while looking at him as a little kitty.

"Okay Okay..." He said while opening the basket inside which white ball-like thing upon some green leaves was kept.

"Buns??" He said with a confused face.

"What's with that look? They are pretty good to have them when they are still warm." She said with a happy expression on her face.

But Ethan wasn't even touching them leave alone eating them.

"What's wrong? You don't like buns." She asked with a little concern in her voice.

"It's not that...I like them but I just never thought that I would be able to eat them today." He said while letting out a smile laugh.

"Huh?" Violet who didn't really understand him said while tilting her head.

"I like to have buns when I am having a bad day and today somehow when I was having a bad day got to eat them." He said while taking one of them and eating them with a satisfied look on his face.

violet listening to his words couldn't help but pat his shoulders with a smile on her face, 

"You did great." She said and Ethan stopped chewing and looked at her with his purple eyes.

.

"You did great passing through a bad day. I am proud of you." She said while patting his shoulders with a genuine smile on her face.

Making even Ethan to smile.

"You surprise me...do you know that?" He asked while holding her hand and putting them on her head.

"...You too did great today...I am proud of you..violet." He said which made Violet a but emotional as she felt a sense of sudden lightness on her shoulders and all the bad thoughts were slowly leaving her mind.

.

"You should sat them fast, they taste bad when cold.".She said while smiling and looking at him and for the time under the moonlight far fromthe world where they were accepted, they felt free and glad that they were born.

.

"Please forgive my sister's for hurting you..." He said as he looked at the stars.

"I already did...don't worry I don't hold grudges for things like this...I am used to it.." She said the last part slowly but it was loud enough for Ethan to hear.

"Thank you for being so understanding...and I belive one day all the misunderstanding people hold for you would fade away." He said making Violet to feel sudden rise on her heart beat and her face to become a bit dark.

.

"Yeah, I hope so too...and I also hope that one day you too would be able to raise your he'd proudly without being crushed by those old folks." Violet said as she looked at him with a cheerful look.

"I wish your hope comes true." He said as they laid down there until they saw the people leaving the palace which clearly meant that the ceremony was over and now it was time for them to return to their usual life.

"Good times really don't last for long..." Violet said as she stretched her arms and legs.

"Should I take you to the palace? It's pretty late now." Ethan asked as he stood up and forwarded his hand towards her.

.

"Sure! Atleast I would have company till I reach my room." She said while accepting his hand and standing up.

Just like that both of then started to walk towards the Iris palace. No one uttered a single word but that didn't make things awkward but instead that silence was a comfortable one.

"Thank you for sending me till here." Violet on reaching the palace said as she slightly bowed towards him.

"The pleasure was mine." He replied to her as she smiled at and turned around as the door opened Ethan mumbled under his breath,

"Thank you for not asking me anything..." Saying that he turned around and moved back to the knight chambers where he was staying.

For Ethan and Violet that night passed peacefully with no hard feelings and question that would pressure them. A smiple night that would stay as a beautiful memory in their heart.

But that night was not as peaceful and beautiful for everyone like..

.

In the Iris Palace,

Irene was walking absent-mindedly on the stairs making her to bump into Lady Maple who was having her cupcake she was carving for since yesterday.

.

"Ahh, my cupcake! It spilled on the ground...Lady winter why would you bump into me----Lady winter?" She said angrily but as she turned around to face her all her anger faded.

.

"I am sorry...please excuse me..." Irene said as she coldly walked past her.

"She *gulps* looks mad...." Aria said as she took a deep breath as she surprised.
