Chapter 565 - Destiny Bond

Brian's third pokemon is down and Julian is still on six but his Rampardos is badly injured, his attack backfired on him, seeing that Rampardos cannot continue Julian called him back to his Pokeball and looked at Brian.

Brian "If only the Poison had taken effect a little faster I would have won this"

He said and clenched his fist, victory was so close but luck was still not on his side.

Julian "That was impressive but also a fluke, you need more than that"

Julian continued to get into Brian's head, he wanted to see how strong is Brian mentally but till now Brian has not shown any signs of being affected by Julian's taunts, he is holding up pretty well for now but he has to get back on track, he only has three pokemon remaining while Julian can still use his other five pokemons, his Rampardos won't be able to continue for another battle due to the poison so Julian decided to let him rest, he has done his part.

Brian takes out his next Pokeball and tosses it up in the air and a massive Trevenant takes the battlefield, this is the first time Julian has come across a Trevenant, he knows that it is a ghost and grass type but he is not aware of its habits and how it battles in the wild.

Julian decided to got with Togekiss and sends her out, Togekiss comes out and flies up maintaining some distance from her opponent.

Brian "Trevenant use Magical Leaf"

His Trevenant blasted a powerful Magical Leaf at Togekiss. Since this attack cannot be dodged Togekiss has to face it head-on.

Julian "Use Mystical Fire"

Togekiss blasted a beam of flame that is surrounded by multiple fire rings, as both attacks clashed the Mystical Fire had a clear advantage, it burned the Magical Leaf and went forward to hit Trevenant.

Brian "Protect"

Trevenant used Protect and created a barrier before the Mystical Fire could touch it, Mystical Fire can lower the opponent's special attack if it hits, Brian cannot take the risk of getting hit by it and on top of that, it is a very powerful move.

Julian "I will end this with one hit, Togekiss, use Sky Attack"

Sky Attack is Togekiss's strongest Physical move and she can deal a lot of damage from it, she races up high towards the sky and starts to dive down at incredible speed, bright light surrounds her body which blinds anyone that tried to look directly at Togekiss.

Brian "Then I will take you down with me, Trevenant, use Destiny Bond"

Trevenant roars and releases a black aura around its body like a curse, seeing this Julian quickly pulls out Togekiss's Pokeball and points it at her.

Julian "Return"

Togekiss gets sent back right into her Pokeball while she was in the middle of using her move.

Julian was surprised by this sudden development, Destiny Bond is one of the most powerful ghost types moves a pokemon can learn.

If the user faints the pokemon responsible for the attack will also faint, if Togekiss had landed that move she would have fainted on the spot along with Trevenant, luckily Julian is fast enough to reach and call her back into her Pokeball.

Julian frowned and thought about the current situation, of course, he cannot risk hitting a pokemon that knows Destiny Bond but he also knows that Destiny Bond cannot be used more than five times and Brian has already used it once.

Julian takes out another Pokeball and sends out Lucario back to the battlefield once again.

Julian "Daggers"

Hearing Julian Lucario creates small sharp daggers in her hands and stares at Trevenant.

Julian "Use Shadow Blade"

Lucario charges at Trevenant with blinding speed.

Brian "Destiny Bond once again"

Trevenant roars once again and uses Destiny Bond as a black curse like aura surrounds its body, as Lucario is about to make contact Julian calls another move.

Julian "Now use Dig"

Lucario suddenly changes her direction and aims straight at the ground in front of Trevenant with her daggers and spin right through it disappearing from Trevenant sight.

Brian is surprised by the sudden change and he tries to figure out where Lucario is going to attack.

Lucario suddenly burst out from the side with her daggers faced up as she lands a strong and sharp slash on Trevenant which sends it flying, Trevenant lands on the ground but it didn't faint.

Destiny Bond only works when the user faints.

Julian first called out Shadow Blade so that he can force Brian to call for Destiny Bond, once he was successful in doing so he changed Lucario's move into Dig giving it ground element.

Since Trevenant is resistant to ground type attacks it didn't affect it that much but the damage is done and one more Destiny Bond is used.

Julian "Lucario, return"

He calls back Lucario and sends out his next pokemon, Luxray, this is Luxray's first battle in the league and he is facing against Trevenant.

His claws spark with electricity as he looks at his opponent.

Brian grits his teeth and continues with Trevenant, this battle is not going as he planned at all but right now he is not even thinking about winning, right now he is thinking about how to survive and turn the table.

Destiny Bond was his secret move but now it got exposed and Julian is planning to force him to use it without being affected by it.

Brian understood what Julian is thinking so he cannot be reckless with Destiny Bond.
