Chapter 684 - Battle In The Institute

With all the information in his hand, Julian decided to walk into the main area where most trainers hangout, as he looked around he saw many trainers, some covered their faces just like him as they didn't want to show who they are while some did.

These people had their own group, the ones who hid their faces stayed in one group as they felt comfortable and same could be said for the ones that showed their faces, there is also the third group who don't care about anything and just want to battle, they are mixed with people who covered their faces and the ones who don't

Julian looked around for a while to get a better feel of the surrounding, this place is where most trainers interact and challenge other trainers. If both parties agree to battle, they will head towards the battlefield and battle each other, their battle will be recorded and entered into the Database determining their ranks in the Battle Institute forum.

As Julian looked around he noticed two trainers started to bicker and exchange words with one another and seeing the reaction of the other trainers around the room, Julian could tell this is a normal occurrence in this room where two trainers with massive egos exchange words, Julian is not surprised by this at all because this can happen when two trainers with equal strength and ego clash.

Julian thought this was interesting and got closer to see how this little play goes forward, just like he expected both of them decided to battle it out and prove for once and for all on who is the better trainer.

Both trainers rushed down towards the battlefield that is actually a level below this room, Julian noticed trainers walking towards a black glass along the walls, as he looked closer he realized that these are not normal walls and they are very thick, about 7-inch thick glass.

As Julian got closer to the glass wall the black color suddenly shifted to a see-through one and he could clearly see the battlefield down below this room.

He noticed the two trainers arriving at the battlefield, one of them is a young man who seems to be in his late 20s while the other is in his early 20s, as they took their position, the display in the middle of the battlefield lit up.

Julian could clearly see it as it is right in front of his eyes, the screen lit up and displayed the information about the two trainers, the screen displayed their stats which consisted of their wins, losses, and draws.

Their names were not displayed, instead, they had a unique ID of their own, if they want they could change it to their names but this unique ID will still be beside their names as it is the only way to identify a particular trainer in the Battle Institute.

Julian also has his own unique ID which is 69420.

The battle started and both trainers sent out their pokemons, the younger trainer sent out his Aggron while the older one sent out his Magmortar, Julian took a look at these pokemons and was impressed, just like the rumors said, the trainers who train here are very strong.

Both these trainers can easily get into the top 64 of a league, they soon started to battle and the explosion caused by the clash of their attacks shook the whole battleground but one the other side of the glass the trainers could feel nothing, once again Julian was impressed by the technology they put into this building for elite trainers.

As the battle continued Magmortar started to gain the upper hand because its arsenal is filled with Fighting-type moves, Julian just watched this and focused on the battle, he thought this is very interesting, other than the league Julian doesn't watch many battles that other trainers participate in as he is always traveling, getting to see how other people battle can help him in many ways, sometimes it inspires him to come up with many new moves.

Julian has even copied some, especially from Ash, and modified a little to his liking and suit his battle style, he noticed some interesting things on how these trainers battle, for example, these two trainers have Avery similar battle style and that is playing very aggressive, even after getting hit, they don't back down and continue their attacks, it looks like they depend on their stamina and defense a lot.

It is a risky strategy but seeing how strong their pokemons attacks are, they just need a good hit to finish the battle and the battle will be theirs.

"Who is gonna win?"

Julian suddenly heard a voice from his right, he turned around and noticed a woman with short red hair standing next to him, she hasn't covered her face and she is quite beautiful.

"The trainer with Aggron"

Julian said.

"How can you tell that?"

She asked.

"You will see within a few seconds... Wait, never mind here it is"

As soon as Julian said this, the Magmortar took a step forward to hit the Aggron with a Focus Punch and finish the battle, the ground beneath its feet suddenly caved in and it lost its balance and missed the Focus Punch, using this as his opportunity the Aggron trainer called out for a Head Smash.

The Head Smash got delivered right on the Magmortar's forehead and it was all over, the Magmortar crashed down and fainted, the older trainer was shocked by this outcome, he was clearly winning but he didn't expect this sudden turn of event.

The girl who was next to Julian was also shocked by this outcome with the rest of the trainers in the room, it was clear as the day that the Magmortar trainer is going to win but the completely opposite happened, the girl looked at Julian in surprise.

"How did you know?"

She asked. She is curious to know how Julian figured it out.

"The ground was about to break sooner or later, that Aggron is too heavy and the ground beneath its feet was already under a lot of stress as its leg kept putting pressure on them with all those attacks it resisted.

That Magmortar got a little too confident and stepped into Aggron's side while using a very powerful move, putting enough pressure to crack the ground and there it was, it missed and Aggron won.

Sometimes it just the luck of the trainer"

Hearing Julian's explanation was a little ridiculous but it also made sense, this also proved how good Julian was at observing his surrounding, every change in the battlefield is being registered by him, he knows how to avoid an accident and also use these changes to his advantages.
