Chapter 823 - Julian Vs Brycen (1)

Brycen decided to start the battle and attacked without giving Julian any more time.

Brycen "Cryogonal, use Ice Beam"

Cryogonal is a very good Special Attacker and Brycen used this and started off strong, but Cryogonal's best stat is not his Special Attack but Special Defense.

This worked in Julian's favor, his Fraxure is a powerhouse and Cryogonal is not good at handling physical hits, even with the type advantage that Cryogonal has it cannot survive a good hit from Fraxure.

Julian "Counter with Iron Tail"

As Cryogonal blasted an Ice Beam at Fraxure, he turned around and swung his tail at the beam, the tail got surrounded by a thick aura of shining light which represented the steel energy.

The Iron Tail smashed into the Ice Beam and caused a shock wave to pass through the battlefield while cracking the surface of the battlefield even further, this battle's scale is way higher than Brycen expected.

After the collision of the two attacks, ice shards flew everywhere because of the impact, the Ice Beam was destroyed by the massive force behind that Iron Tail.

Some of them landed on Fraxure but they did no damage as they were just broken shards and his scales protected him, the rest just flew away and dug into the ground or crashed into the wall and shattered.

Brycen "Another Ice Beam"

Brycen stuck to Ice Beam as he knows his opponent cannot just stand his ground and take and counter these Ice Beams, soon they will start to take effect, the temperature of these Ice Beams are severely below freezing temperature and that is why they are able to freeze things up so fast.

If these Ice Beams continues to land even if they are countered physically, they will have an effect on the opponent, since Fraxure is a warm-blooded pokemon and he is already weak to Ice-type attacks, the effect will build up and Fraxure will start to feel stiff and sour.

Julian "Use, Giga Impact"

Fraxure roared and charged right through the Ice Beam, the Giga Impact acted as a barrier and stopped the Ice Beam from touching Fraxure, seeing that Fraxure was not stopping, Brycen asked his Cryogonal to dodge it.

Cryogonal dodged the Giga Impact easily by moving to the side.

Brycen "Now, use Ice Beam again"

Cryogonal shot another Ice Beam and this time it hit Fraxure because he couldn't move due to the Giga Impact's side effect.

The Ice Beam hit him and ice started to cover his scales as Fraxure was frozen on spot.

Brycen "Don't wait, use Icicle Spear"

Cryogonal created multiple spears made of Ice and shot them at Fraxure.

Julian "Break them"

Fraxure who was frozen on the spot shook his body with all his strength and shattered the ice around his body, he then used Iron Tail and destroyed those Ice spears with ease.

Julian "Dragon Pulse"

As the ice spears were shattered, Julian didn't give Brycen any time to recall and attacked, since Cryogonal was so close to Fraxure when it attacked, the Dragon Pulse was a surprise to it, the power behind this attack might not be very strong but it was enough for Julian.

The Dragon Pulse landed right on Cryogonal's face causing short blindness, enough for Julian to capitalize.

Julian "Let's get this over with, Iron Tail"

Fraxure quickly closed up the distance between him and Cryogonal and landed the hit on its face again, this time Cryogonal was sent flying backward and crashed on the shattered ice field knocked out.

The first exchange ended just like that, Brycen was surprised by this, he didn't expect the battle would be over so fast, he thought he got some good hits but he realized that the Giga Impact was not his opponent attacking his Cryogonal but was a trap set up by his opponent and he fell right into it.

Julian used Giga Impact to first counter the Ice Beam and once Fraxure was frozen, Brycen did what any trainer would do, that is to take advantage of the situation and attack, what he didn't expect was his opponent's pokemon to tank it all.

Once Fraxure started to move it was too late to create some distance between the two pokemon and then he saw what happened, his Cryogonal got destroyed.

He called back his Cryogonal and thanked it for its hard work and sent out his next pokemon.

Vanilluxe, since his Cryogonal was taken down so easily he decided to go with Vanilluxe who is an all-rounder in his team, it has a good defense, good special defense, good attack, good special attack, good speed, and good stamina or health, it is indeed his best option right now to figure out what his opponent's weakness is.

The first round didn't give him much because his Cryogonal was taken down so fast, his Vanilluxe should be able to do much better because of its all-rounder stats.

Julian decided to continue with Fraxure as he needs to push his Fraxure a little more as he is very close to evolving as well.
