Chapter 1009: Ash Vs Diantha

They were done with their talking and have nothing to do here.

Sycamore "Mr. Julian why don't you join me and go eat some deserts that can be found here in Brackish town"

Sycamore suggested, everyone knows about the delicious cakes that can be found here so it was not a surprise to Julian when Sycamore suggested, Sycamore got busy as soon as he arrived here so he had no chance to taste them before but now things have been dealt with, he can finally go around and enjoy his time in the town.

Julian "Sure, let's go"

Julian agreed as he didn't want to reject this invitation, he is never going to say no to those delicious cakes.

Sycamore and Julian soon headed out into the town, Sycamore brought him towards a certain district saying that this place has the best one of them all.

When Julian and Sycamore got there, they were surprised to see Diantha along with Ash and his friends, Julian then heard Diantha excepting Ash's challenge, he then followed Sycamore and approached the group.

Sycamore "My, my, a battle with the champion, do you guys mind if I come along and take a look?"

Sycamore asked.

He completely forgot about eating cake and focused on the battle that is about to happen.

Julian "Bu-"

Diantha "Sure"

Before Julian could say anything Diantha agreed and he couldn't do anything but sigh.

Diantha noticed Julian as well, this time she identified Julian even though he was behind his mask and asked him to join as well.

He agreed and decided to watch this battle and see how it goes.

Julian then followed the group as they soon found an open space close to the town, both Diantha and Ash took their position on the field, Ash's friend Clemont stood in the middle and decided to referee the battle.

The battle started, Diantha used her Gardevoir and Ash sent out his Pikachu into the battlefield.

The battle started and Ash went for the attack.

Ash "Use Iron Tail"

Pikachu rushed towards Gardevoir with exceptional speed, seeing this Diantha was surprised.

Diantha 'Pikachu is fast'

She thought as she watched Pikachu get very close to her Gardevoir while swinging his powerful tail at it.

Gardevoir moved to the side, successfully dodging Pikachu's attempt.

Ash "Use Quick Attack"

As soon as Pikachu's feet touch the ground again, he shot towards Gardevoir with speed beyond Diantha's expectation.

Diantha "Use Protect"

Diantha quickly set up a Protect because she knew her Gardevoir won't be able to dodge this one, a shield of energy formed right in front of Gardevoir and protected it from Pikachu's Quick Attack.

Pikachu's head hit the force field and he bounced back.

Diantha "Now use Shadow Ball"

Diantha saw her chance and called for a Shadow Ball.

Ash "Electro Ball"

Pikachu bounced back and landed on the ground and jumped as soon as he heard Ash, as he jumped he used Electro Ball and countered the Shadow Ball, the two moves collided and created a powerful shockwave to travel across the field.

Diantha used this chance to attack again.

Diantha "Use Moon Blast"

Ash "Counter with Iron Tail"

Gardevoir blasted a powerful Moon Blast at Pikachu while Pikachu jumped and swung his tail at the incoming Moon Blast.

Pikachu's Iron Tail came in contact with the Moon Blast and split the Moon Blast into two, the two parts of the Moon Blast hit the trees in the background and destroyed it.

Diantha "Now!"

She finally got the opening she needed, while Pikachu was still in the air, Gardevoir suddenly appeared right in front of Pikachu and used a Moon Blast at point-blank range.

Ash "Thunderbolt"

Ash called for a counter knowing that there is no way out of this.

Both moves came in contact with each other as soon as they were released, the powerful explosion sent Gardevoir flying backward while Pikachu shot through the air, seeing this Ash rushed towards Pikachu to grab it.

He successfully grabbed Pikachu but both of them when crashing against a tree, Gardevoir seems to be fazed a little but she clearly won that exchange.

Julian who was watching this knew that Ash won't win this battle but he did a good job keeping it up with Diantha.

Ash got up with his Pikachu in hand.

Ash "The battle just got started"

He claimed and was about to get back into the battle when a metal square box came out of nowhere and suddenly trapped Gardevoir, it surrounded Gardevoir inside an energy forcefield and carried it up in the air.

The forcefield then connected to a hot air balloon, everyone looked up seeing what just happened.

Julian was already looked at the Meowth-shaped hot air balloon and just sighed, Julian couldn't understand how are these three idiots so persistent.

Time after time, they were defeated, humiliated, sent flying after every confrontation but they keep coming back, even god would have given up after so many failures but these three didn't.

He decided to just let it play out because he knows how things will end up, these three will lose badly.

The three suddenly started to introduce them with their signature poetry, Julian was once again impressed by how they could find so many different ways to introduce themselves every time.

Ash "Team Rocket"

Ash exclaimed.

Diantha "Who are you guys?"

She asked as she was shocked by the current situation.

Serena "Its team rocket, they go around stealing other people pokemons"

Diantha "Stealing other people's pokemon, that's despicable"

Bonnie "Yes, they are really bad"

Team Rocket just laughed at their comments.

Diantha "Gardevoir, use Shadow Ball"

Diantha said.

Gardevoir used Shadow Ball but it seems to be of no use as the forcefield that it was trapped inside is quite strong, this impressed Julian once again as he wondered where does Team Rocket gets all this money from, even after so many failures, how do they still get paid?
