Chapter 1069: Laverre City

With no pokemon that impressed him, Julian could only leave the swamp in disappointment, he didn't even get a glimpse of Gloomy though he searched as much as he could.

He finally gave up on the idea of catching one as he already has a dragon type on his team and his Charmander an almost dragon, he doesn't think he needs one more dragon type.

Putting aside the thought of catching a Gloomy, Julian made his way out of the swamps and headed to Laverre City, as he got close to the city and saw its outskirts he was surprised, he saw that the city is surrounded by colorful flowers.

As he got closer he was mesmerized by its beauty, the city is very different from any other city he has visited in Kalos, every house is surrounded by beautiful flowers, some houses are built on trees while some are built right inside a tree.

A unique city that he has never seen before, the city is also quite big with thousands of people living here, as he entered through the gate, he was stopped by the guards at the entrance of the city and asked him to put away his bike as no motor vehicles are allowed to be ridden inside the city.

Instead, people are to only use cycles and if they did use some kind of vehicle it has to be electric, Julian complied with the rules and put away his bike and rented a cycle for himself, and rode into the city, as soon as he entered, Crystal who is awake now popped out its head and looked around excitedly.

It has been months since it has seen people and eaten delicious food, it nudged Julian every time they passed through a food store, Julian had to push its head back every time it popped its head out and told Julian to buy it something.

Julian is not going to make it a habit and spoil Crystal so he denied it every time.

He then rode towards the closest hotel and book himself a room, this hotel is fully built from wood and a massive tree has grown right in the middle of the hotel, this tree is also used as a staircase to reach the upper levels of the hotel.

Julian got himself a VIP room and headed upward, the hotel is quite big and he claimed three floors before finally reaching his room, once he entered his room he found a very cozy room, the windows are wide open and the branches from the trees are very close to the window from which berries and fruits are hanging.

This is the reason why this is a VIP room, not only is it luxurious and big, there is also free access to all the fruits that are hanging close to the window, Julian picked up some fruits and gave them to Crystal as it was begging him for something to eat.

Getting all the fruits, Crystal got very happy and started to munch down on them with its small mouth little by little making cute sounds while doing so.

Julian left Crystal on its own and sat down on the bed and took out his laptop to look into his next challenge, the gym leader of Laverre city's gym Valerie.

He looked up Valerie as he wanted to see how good his next opponent really is, information soon appeared on his screen and he was surprised to see how beautiful this gym leader really is, rivaling his own fiancées when it comes to beauty standards.

She has pale skin, shiny long black hair, grey eyes, wearing modernized traditional clothes, she is not only a very strong gym leader but also a very famous fashion designer, her name is very well known around the world and her designs are very well known and exclusive in the industry.

Julian was surprised by learning all this, he never understood the concept of paying millions of dollars for clothes but since he can buy one, he might buy some for his fiancées if he can.

After getting distracted by useless information for a few minutes Julian got back to looking into her gym-related stuff.

After looking into it he found some useful information, her winning record is impressive with an 80% win rate against any first-time challengers, he then looked into her team and saw that she favored two-on-two battles rather than a traditional three-on-three pokemon battle.

He then looked into her pokemons and she seems to favor using, Spritzee, Sylveon, and Mawile, she doesn't seem to have an ace as she battled with equal skill with all of them, Julian wanted to see how her skills to fare against him.

After looking at some of her exhibition battles, he closed his laptop and started to think of the pokemons he will be using in the upcoming gym battle.

Since she is a fairy type gym leader, her team will be weak to poison and steel, he can use Skrelp for this battle as he hardly fought in his last one, as for the other one, he plans to use Clauncher who is about to evolve, he is just holding back his evolution, Julian plans to evolve him before he goes and challenges Valerie.

His last choice will be Floette as she hasn't had a battle for a long time.

After thinking for a while he leaves the hotel and heads to the nearest pokemon park to train.
