I was at home in the darkness, and not just that, the castle felt like an extension of myself. I could feel every door, every window, every block of wood and the souls held within it's walls, the soul catcher oaks slowly being shaped and given corporeal bodies to serve as the guards and soldiers on the castle, and most importantly the prey stuck within it.
It was only with a single thought that the doors at the open end of the hall sprung open, from within it, a dime good could be seen coming from a chandelier that was ornately designed to look like the spread branches of an oak tree, the crystals on it were black on one side and golden on the other, yet your still gave off a soft silver glow, illuminating an area 20 meters in diameter of what looked to be a massive foyer.
The soldiers slowly huddled themselves together as they made their way there, there was no way that they would head for the place that offered them light from the darkness that they now saw themselves in, even if it was an obvious trap and the smart ones amongst them knew it was. However within the darkness they were nothing more than toys for me to play with, they would rather take their chances in an area where there was light.
Just as the last soldier was about to cross from the hallway into the foyer, the two massive doors at it's end shut close with a bang, however they had caught someone within their grasp, as the last soldier was crushed in between both doors. All that was left of him was a very thin pile of flesh as blood began to seep from in-between the doors, much to the hotel of his friends.
The soldiers gathered under the chandelier in a panic, and then suddenly on of the soldiers in the middle stepped on a loose time, and the moment he did so, there was a loud click. The sound was enough to freeze everyone in their tracks, but after thirty seconds when it seemed as if nothing was happening they calmed down, only for a massive wooden Spike to shoot up from under the ground, driving itself into a soldiers body and taking him up into the air, impaling him there and letting his blood sprinkle allover the shocked face of his comrades.
But that was just the beginning, four more spikes shot out at an invoice. From the edges of the huddled group, piercing into two soldiers each and hanging them in the air like meat on skewers. The soldiers were still alive as their blood rained all over the floor and their comrades, and their blood was spilled, the mansion greedily sucked every last drop of it. By thisnoo8nt there wasn't just screams, there were tears, but none the less what I was aiming for had already been achieved, their formation had already been broken and their general knew it.
"You guys should stay together! Come back here! He's trying to divide us! Come back and remake the formation! We can win, don't let this fucking leech get into your head! You're letting him win!" he was frantic as he spoke, but more than half of the soldiers left had already scattered every which way, desperately looking for a way out. But apart from the doors they used in coming into the foyer, there was nothing else there, even the stairs that were once there moments ago had disappeared and they now found themselves in a room with only on tightly shut door, and even then, said door still pieces of their crushed comrade and blood seeping from in-between it's cracks, there was death everywhere.
"You know, if I were you I would listen to your general, he's either really smart, or he's just happy remaining in your center so that you guys can die first. Hmmm, but what do I know, I'm just a bloody leech, but still.....run little flesh bags, run!"
My voice resounded across the entire room, it carried with it a chill that even I could feel. The general was at a loss, it wasn't as if what I had just said was a lie, but even then none of his soldiers seemed all too willing to pay attention to him whether what I had just said was true or not, but that wasn't his fault, this castle was like a massive blank paper, and I only needed a single thought to etch whatever rune I wanted, and however I wanted it.
I looked up at the ceiling where the blackened and well hidden rune circle for fear and terror was slowly spinning. Maybe I was taking it a bit too far with all of the torture and stuff, but I seriously want the rest of their moments alive to be filled with as much fear as possible. I had a sadistic streak a mile long...or maybe millions of kilometers long, but this wasn't entirely my fault, idiots and into my house to cause problems, and even treated me less than dirt, a lesson in decorum is in order.
"Where are you! Show yourself you coward! Come out and fight like a man! WHERE ARE YOU!!!" One of the soldiers running around in the darkness screamed out in fear as his mind slowly broke down.
"I'm everywhere." I said to him before my that's sunk into his throat and his body was thrown across the hall, straight towards the chandelier hanging over the rest of his comrades. His body crashed into it, the elaborate curved hooks that the crystals were hung on stabbing into his body and staining the entire chandelier blood red, so much so that the soft silvery light that it was emitting turned blood red in seconds. And with that more blood rained down onto those who were still alive, whatever willpower they had left slowly crumbling.
Suddenly the floor began to move, it was akin to something that was alive, like a rug that was being flapped, or the very waves on the ocean itself.
Suddenly vines shot out from the floor and wrapped around the ankles and joints of every soldier except the general, and the were all dragged to the ground, brought to a kneeling position, their heads and eyes face towards my position as the lights slowly began to get brighter.
"You know, one of the hazards of being a god is that when you want to go somewhere the universe would announce your presence with a fanfare of supernatural phenomenon. Nature itself would reshape itself just so that it would cater to your very existence, which is why gods have vassals, followers, priests, servants, etc. Not that all this pieces of information means anything to you, but I feel that you should know the reason why you and your soldiers died, or rather the reason why you didn't know that the rubber ball you were kicking was actually made of iron."
I said to the general as I sat down on what appeared to be a throne made from numerous twisted branches of a tree, yet said tree was actually bleeding, a s blood trickled from the throne. My style really Isn't this dark, but for the occasion, I guess I can indulge my darkness a bit.
"Maybe I've given you this explanation before, but I'mma give it to you again. Kael Cor is a god, and what do you think gods do to puny mortals invokes their wrath.....do you know what I'm going to do to you? Well let me give you a demonstration."
I raised my right hand up, and just as I did so the soldiers still alive and bound started screaming out in pain. A specific kind of color began to whine out from within their bodies, the lights escaping from their ears, eyes, and mouth as it seemed as if whatever was the source of that might was smelly being dragged out from the depths of their body. I could make such a procedure extremely fast and less painful, but where's the fun in that.
The soldiers bent and contorted their bodies in pain and agony as I slowly drew their souls out of their bodies.
Their general watched as figures made of light and carrying similar features as them was slowly dragged out of their bodies, meticulously pulled up out of it's mortal coil by a power he could never begin to comprehend or understand.
And the suddenly like a bunch of puppets who had their strings cut, the bodies of the soldiers filled the room, floating as moans of agony could be heard from them, as they lit up the room in a Kaleidoscope of colors. I spread both my hands on the arm rest of my throne and said to general with a smile that made my fangs going under the rainbow might show out on by the souls.
"Well.....what do you think General? Beautiful right? Don't worry yours is going to be much more special, and torture filled. And eternity of horror, of pain." This was the generals breaking point, he charged, and during it all I just smiled, it was a nice smile.
