64 Growth IV : Unlocking Seals 1

"Relax Nisi, this should not hurt, at least this part any way." I spoke the last part in a silent whisper.

"Are you joking.....you're joking right?"

"Of course, it's a joke, a harmless joke, no need to worry." I reassured her with a smile so fake it felt like it was going to split my face apart.

I quickly moved my attention back to seal, though to be honest it was quite hard to concentrate with everyone living in the tower crowded around us. I really couldn't blame them, the very idea that I could remove the seal had them shaken and anxious, everyone at his point was hoping for a miracle.

But before dong this, I had to check something important. While the tower has had it's own significant growth since getting to level two, I wanted to know how far along I have come with my own strength. At this point in time, it would serve as a reassurance for me,before I jump right into what I'm about to do.

My weaving and soul manipulation skills were now at the advance stage, the increase in abilities could also be because I was now. A fifth circle weaver, I felt a little comforted. I like to think I was strong for a weaver at my level, but I couldn't be so sure considering there was no one else around for me compare with.

Every other skill there had grown well enough, and there's was a new one called soul infusion, though that did no surprise me much. I've infused my soul energy in my runes, bringing about new reactions with quite devastating effects if you ask me. So in the end it was quite a good skill to have. My farming skill has not experienced any growth, but that's because I've been much to busy to worry about farming, at the moment I felt the incredible urge to quickly get rid of the seal, like there was a darkness coming and I needed every strength possible to get it.

I moved my gaze back to the rune circle on Nisi's wrist, it was quite clean to be honest. Very precise and without any flaws, I could not believe that a weaver would spend the time meticulously weaving a slave rune on a gnome, regardless of how much he's being paid. But come to think of it, how is it possible that every vampire had a seal, was it not possible for them to all have hidden just like Teluna. I turned to Asha and asked her why it was so.

"The seals on our wrist serve as a sort of monitoring device, I don't know how it works, but by the time a vampire mother is ready for birth, the guards would CE and take them to the solitary confinement wing of the dancing caves. There their children would be born, and the guards would have a sort of game to decide whether the child would be useful enough to the community. If it's found useful, it's sealed by use of an already prepared seal array. Then the mother and child are released back into the pit."

There were still a lot of hopes in this explanation, and I really wanted to get to the bottom of everything.

"So how do the guards decide that a child would be useful to the community?" I asked her back. But this time it was Xaseah who answered.

"They separate the mother from the child, then they feed the child a compound of Ionite and Silver. For lack of s better description, such an experience would be hell for an adult much less a child. If they survive, then they're found worthy. Then the Ionite would be responsible of suppressing a vampire's natural abilities."

I sucked in a deep breath as I felt a chill go through me. I looked up at the vampires around me and I could not help the pity that came across my face. The hell that both parents and children would have been forced to go through during such an experience was not something that ever leaves you.

I looked at Nisi's seal with a renewed vigor, hoping to solve it's riddle. Nisi's seal only had to block her sight to the system, which meant that it was made with an intent to blind or cover. Like a veil over a person's face, but for me to get rid of it, I can't think of it as a veil, I had to think of it as a gate between Nisi and the system. And through that gate, the ether continuously flows through the bars, which allowed Nisi to use her earth magic abilities, however with the gate still in place it was quite impossible for her to access the way.

I infused my soul energy into the seal, letting my perception of the seal fill my gaze as I took a look at the structure of the circle that powered the rune. Unlike mine which looked like a massive machine that had different parts, cogs and gears, the circle I was looking was incredibly bland as it seemed to be made of wood.

Massive blocks of wood that moved and occasionally rearranged itself in different and obscure positions. But every time s part of the wood moved, a space would be left in the wooden wall, and through that space I could see a dense white soul energy, the true power of the seal. At this point in time, my soul energy had only come in contact with the rune circle, and not the seal itself, or the soul energy of the weaver or array that placed the seal. 'I wonder what an array is'

I moved my soul energy towards the wooden wall, and when one of it's parts decided to rearrange itself, I pushed my soul energy into the cracks so that I could connect to the soul energy powering the circle and the rune. The ides was to use the same method which I used in killing the elite stone rat to absorb the soul energy. I will let my soul energy get in contact with the opposing soul energy, then I would suffuse and encompass it with my own soul energy, then pull it out for absorption. Just like fishing.

However the moment my soul energy came in contact with the white mist like soul energy powering the circle, I felt a jolt run through my body, and a falling sensation. I closed my eyes for a bit, as I felt the sky rushing past me, but there was no wind as I fell down to impact down on the ground, hard. Landing was painful, very much so, but I was still in one piece thankfully.

I opened my eyes to an entirely new location, I was no longer in the tower, neither was there anybody else around me. I took a look at my surroundings, and was able to recognize it almost immediately. I was in a long corridor that stretched for hundreds of meters in either direction, there was no end to it. At the end all I could see was light, coming from both sides, but I could not even tell the distance to reach that light.

The floor beneath me was made of concrete, I could feel it under my feet, cold and hard. The corridor stretched twenty meters in width from left to right, and it's walls were actually made from a kind of wooden material, it was dark brown, and glossy, like earth. Then there was vibration that shook the entire corridor, and then the wood wall began to dislodge from each other, in a variety of shapes, and moved to other places and arranged themselves to become a part of another wall.

Every time those piece of the wood wall moved, I could see and endless expanse of white mist behind them. And them it hit me with a shock that threw off my feet in abject surprise and horror. I was in the seal, my perception was not in this seal, no it was me, myself and I.

I was shocked by the sudden turn of events as I couldn't even fathom how such a thing would have been possible. Something like this has never happened to me when I was creating or calibrating my soul circles or runes. Which was functionality. Couldn't help but ask.

"What the hell!"
