I was a whole lot stronger than I normally was, it was as if everything about me that's a vampire has been unsealed, and with each soul beast I killed I got stronger and stronger, going past the limits of my strength and into new heights that I never thought possible. At this point in time killing the soul beasts became incredibly easy, I was faster, stronger and all of my sense were at an all time high.
It was like I could feel and see everything, sight, smell, and hearing, even touch were so sensitive each move I made felt like a million sparks of fireworks going off in my brain. I shifted to the left and watched a snake like soul beats fly past my face. I don't know what's it with all these soul beasts and jumping for my face. Can't they just go for my legs, they all wanted to take a bite out of my face, but unfortunately for them, I liked my face, and there was no way I was letting any one of them come close to it.
I heard a loud groan behind me, and turned just in time to see a mammoth like soul beast swing it's trunk and tusks at me. The sheer size of the beast shocked me, and the fact that I never noticed a soul beast of this size until it was a bit too late freaked me out. I raised my shield up in time to defend against it's attack, and for the first time since I've started fighting, I was the one who was thrown off his feet.
I was strong, but that mammoth was stronger, way, way stronger. And as I flew through the air and slammed against the wooden wall of the corridor, I wonderemelow it was possible that I had not been able to notice the mammoth before.
I looked up just in time to see an enormous white fist heading straight for my body.I put my shield over myself and braced for impact. The fist hit me with such force that my body bounced off the ground and into the air for a distance of about two feet before crashing back down with my breath completely knocked out of me and my back feeling like I had just been punched by a giant hairless ape….….I don't need to say out loud do I...…..I've just been punched by a giant hairless ape.
The soul ape was not going to give me an chance to recover as it swung his fist down again. Far be it for me to lie still like a puppy and have a twenty foot monkey beat the shit out of me. I rolled to the side and just barely manage to get away from the hundrems of kilograms punch heading for my somewhat handsome face. I got back up to my feet, and ran for the space between it's legs, and as I was running through, I stretched both my shield and sword from my body like the wings of a bird and smiled in satisfaction as they cut through the white rune coveremeskin of the ape. I heard the beast scream in pain, but I did not have time to pay any attention to it as another giant soul beast was heading straight for me, and this time it was a wolf with bones sticking out of every part of it's body, like some bizarre and grotesque animal piercing.
I ran at the wolf, and when it was close enough, I used a baseball slide, and using the same tactic as the ape, I sliced off its left fore paw and left a nasty gash on the right. The wolf stumbled and crashed into the still hobbling ape, they got tangled into a heap with the bone like spikes on the wolf's body finding purchase in the ape's. In a manner of speaking, they were stuck and not capable of any immediate movements. I ran straight at them, and climbed the body of the wolf, the way they were placed made it seem as if both beasts were hugging each other, and the ape's face was the only one facing me.
As I ran unhinderemeon the back he wolf, th weaving between its spikes or slicing them off as I went past, I could see the ape struggling to move but to no avail. I shook my head in pity that quickly turned into a gloating smile, when I got to the neck he wolf, th, I stomped down hard enough that there's was a crackling of bones under my feet, I might have broke its neck. Then I jumped into the air straight for the forehead of the ape, I landemeon it's head making sure that my sword was planted to the hilt in the middle of it's forehead.
However I had gotten a bit careless, there was one other giant monster I had neglected, and the mammoth wanted to make sure it paid me back for such a slight. It pounced, it FREAKING POUNCED AT ME!.How the hell could a monster of that size and bulk jump at me like it was some sort of house cat, this entire display of cat like agility was surprising. But there was not time to dodge the incoming freight train, so I grabbed my shield and used it to cover as much of my body as I could. Then I pushed the soul energy I had absorbed, into the shield, letting it cover the surface of the shield like some sort of trampoline.
"BANG!!!!"
There was a massive shockwave when the mammoth slammed it's tusk into the shield. The shield had released a pulse of soul energy that pushed me away like a bullet shot out of a gun, the mammoth did not get a better treatment as it's huge and bulky body was helplessly flung away like a kite at the mercy of a summer wind. I reoriented my body, and made sure I landemeon my feet, skidding back almost fifteen meters as my feet let out screeches from its traction with the concrete floor beneath me. I landemeright in the middle of a group smaller soul beasts, but with experience of fighting the mammoth, I sent the soul energy into the shield, and brought its flat surface crashing down to the ground.
Another pulse wave was released, and this one was spread for a radius and distance of almost fifty feet, turning a lot of the soul beasts into white wisps of soul energy. I was thrown up by the force, pushed high almost six meters, but I took advantage of that vantage point as I could see my good friend the Mammoth getting back up to it's massive feet. I threw my sword with all of my strength, and watched with satisfaction as if flew from my hand like it was some sort of missile and lodged itself into the mammoth's chest, going so deep that it's entire form was no longer visible. The mammoth screeched as it tried by all means to try and pull the sword in its chest out, rolling and slamming it's body every which way, crushing smaller soul beasts in the process.
Then the mammoth stiffened in fear and let out a massive shriek. The vibrations from that scream made me feel regret since I had gave a mental order to my sword to start spinning and rotating like the blades of a fan, as it tore the insides of the Mammoth to shrems. Then I ordered the sword to grow and expand, and suddenly the mammoth was split in half by fifteen meter wide and twenty meter long sword.
I felt my head ache something fierce when the sword was created, I had to wince and quickly return the sword back to it's normal form. From the looks of things, it seems like fighting in a rune circle also had it's own rules and limits. I couldn't do something so unrealistic like summoning a giant sword the size of a house. Though it did not really make sense, since everything I've been doing can not be considered normal, but I won't poke into it. The sudden migraine I just had was motivation enough for me to never create weapons the size of a bus when I'm in a seal again.
But I was still a little disoriented, so maybe fighting close to these beasts is not a good idea. I summoned a sheath for the sword and swung it over my back, then i hanged the shield on my back too. And I willed a gun into my hand, scratch that, I wanted two. Reminiscent of their predecessors, the guns were made from a gleaming silver metal, though there was a groove on both sides of the gun, that stretched from the hammer all the way to the middle of the gun. The grooves lit up, looking almost if not like power cells for soul energy. I looked up just in time to see three soul beasts jump at me, jaws opened wide with blood lust in their eyes.
"BANG, BANG, BANG,"
One bullet for each, a terribly strong bullet if you ask me seeing as all three soul beasts exploded into pieces of flesh and soul energy. I was really grateful for one thing though, and that was the fact that noneof this beasts had blood or organs for me to worry about. I inclined my head just in time to dodge a swipe at me from a tiger like soul beasts standing at six feet tall, and quite bulky. I crossed my hands and pulled both triggers simultaneously, blowing of the head of the tiger monster, and another squirrel looking soul beast that was trying to flank me.
As soon as the tiger beats fell, I looked behind him, and noticed that he brought along some friends, all of them the same species as him, and very, very angry. I took off running towards them, and with each step I took, I made sure the guns in my handswere spitting fire, metal and death. They fell in droves and when I got close to their line, I gathered strength at my feet and for good measure I pushed the soul energy to my feet and jumped. The boost it gave me was nothing short of insane, sending me a hundrem feet into the air in an arc.
I had to take advantage though as I pointed my guns down and sent the soul energy coursing through them.
"BOOM, BOOM, BOOM"
The sound this time was very different, as well as it's effect. Everything in the path of the bullet was turned to dust as a massive dome of disintegrating soul energy would spread out every time the bullet touched a beast. Since I've been here, I've not felt a single draft of wind or air, but with those bullets going off, the wind they let off was so strong it still pushed me higher up in the air. Then the soul energy gathered to a point, and spread, like the explosion of a nuclear missile, spreading and stretching through every square inch of this endless circular corridor.
Then everything disappeared, I found myself falling down to a ground devoid of any soul beast. I landemewith a thump, and took a cursory look around. There was nothing, no more soul beasts, it was just as it looked when I first fell in here. Suddenly there was rumble, and the walls began to crack, and from that crack, massive amounts of soul energy came roiling out of it. They coalesce to form wolf, rds that made up Nisi's seal.
(BLOCK THE SIGHT OF THE WAY, BOUND TO THE KEY)
And then wolf, rds turned into a cloud of soul energy that began to vibrate at extreme speems. Then it shot towards me, slamming into my body, seeping into my skin and bones, traveling to my spine, and filling the conduit that's the first circlethe sacrum realm. It filled me, and then it pushed me out, into the darkness, and then into the light.
