"While there's still a lot of things to be done, any other major decision would be carried out once Ethernalia Leonis has become a part of the realm of the dragon kings. And as such every none citizen would be given a week to complete whatever business they have in Ethernalia Leonis and return the where they came from. Secondly every citizen of Ethernalia Leonis that's outside the city, whether on deployment of personal exploration should return to the city in a week, so the vampires in Transylvania should be called back, I believe we've already set a foothold there, so once the move has been complete, we can come back and continue from there. Everyone is required to return, we're about to take the next step in our growth, and it's imperative that we're all around to witness it.
Malek the issue regarding the seven children would be solved as soon Ethernalia Leonis has settled down firmly within the realm of the dragon kings. This is a rather delicate matter, and I rather not make an hasty decisions. Within now and then, you would brief me on what is it that I need to do to return them back their consciousness. Farina most of the problems you're facing now would he solved the moment the move has been complete, also I would need you to create other administrative offices to take off the load from your shoulders. From now on Galadriel would be in charge of diplomatic duties, as always Asha and Xaseah would still work with you guys, but it better if you just focus on our home and it's people.
Asare from now on, any new recruit we recite would be given to the general of the east to form an entirely new wing of the army, along with new divisions focused on other things also I believe you would have restructure the army itself, so that you; the General of the North, Kuyait the General of the South, and Boris the Naga king who would immediately assume his duties as the general of the east would have entirely different divisions trained according to your different strengths. The position of general of the west would be kept vacant while I figure out who our of my list of candidates is worthy.
This change you can start implementing from this very moment, I believe the change would take a while, but I trust you would do what's best. There has to be a balance of power between all members of the council, and though Kuyait is not a member, she will be acting General of the south until a new council member joins us, and then you can have her back since you two seem so attached at the hip.
The three armies are not to be arranged according to races, but rather according to talent and classes. This is done to promote unity amongst our people and to end any sort of bad blood from past conflicts. I trust that as leaders you would all do what's best for our people, so every team, squad, battalion or division must have an even ratio of the number of people from different races. And in the case of vampires, especially those from the bloodline covens, keep them separate.
While things are all sunshine and rainbows lately, vampires are a long lived race, and I know last grudges and beliefs can not just vanish into thin air. Have them learn to rely and trust their lives to the hands of people they once thought their enemies and vice versa, in the end it will make us stronger than you would ever know.
The formation of the west army would be held back until the PRIDE finally takes their place amongst us. And once all our forces have been distributed properly, a tournament of sorts would be held to determine the soldiers that would become the royal guard. After that, and I'm telling you this just so that you would all be prepared for what's to come...Ethernalia will launch a full scale war against the council of light.
Now I'm not doing this for petty revenge, well mostly anyway. But the council has control over resources that would otherwise belong to Ethernalia Leonis, which includes planets that have been under the control of the Cor family for generations, space colonies, mining colonies on and around various asteroid belts, not to mention slave camps where vampires and members of other races are bred and sold.
It would look bad on our part of we stay and do nothing. Finally there's one thing that has to be mentioned, as far as Ethernalia Leonis is concerned there would no such things as noble ranks, well that was the plan initially but that would mean a society without structure. And as much as I hate the idea of giving that much power to a person, I realize that in other to promote growth and aspiration amongst our people, they need to look up to something or someone and have the need to bring it down. And as such Farina, you and my wife Asha would have to draft a proper nobility ranking system that's based on merits. While all previous noble families in place, like the bloodline covens and the 13 Nests of the Nephilim would be given official noble titles, but of the lowest rank, it's up to them to work their way up from there based on the merits they can provide. Any important merit to the Ethernalia Leonis, whether on the field of battle, or off it. Land would be gifted and a noble title bestowed.
This should have everyone else strive to achieve that greatness. Also such titles can be achieved if a person gets promoted to a high enough rank in the army, and within the administrative sector. So for now that's the task we all have to understand, though I'm open to other suggestions, especially if you guys feel the policies I've put in place might cause any problems. In the future I won't really be around, and neither would Asha or Xaseah, so it would be up to you guys to rule and take care of this kingdom in our stead. So be free with your words."
God I felt so parched, that was a lot of things that I had to talk about, but at the very least this should cement the social structure ofEthernalia Leonis until such a time when all these idiots realize that democracy is a thing. Unfortunately Shearath is built on the principles of the strong and wealthy leads the weak and the poor. And such mentality was especially strong amongst the vampires and Nagas who made up 58% of our entire population.
It would be wise to work with what they're already familiar with, and at the same time reform it as best as I could so that the soon to be common people won't suffer. But whether I do this or not, people would always find a way to cheat and hurt each other because of the power they have, while this would give the bad seeds much chance to grow, it would also give the good seeds a chance to show forth themselves and protect those who can't protect themselves. Plus with me still being King I doubt anyone would feel particularly inclined to step out of line.
"My lord, even with all these reforms you have planned for the army, is the police force expected to undergo the same changes?" Kuyait asked, when it seems that none of the council members had anything to offer.
"Actually no, the police force is a completely separate body from the army. The power Magellan has over the police force is not any less than what you generals have. At a later date I would draft a proper structure for the police force, and let Magellan implement those changes. So you don't have to worry."
After that it didn't look like anyone else had something to say, so the meeting was dismissed, and for the first time in a long time, I had nothing to do. Even Asha and Xaseah seemed to have duties they needed to attend to, especially with the impending arrival of the dark elf queen, bringing along a new species to add to our ranks.
Once that happens, Nefisat would have to expand the city, but based on what Farina and I have discussed, Nefisat would no longer be responsible for construction. That way more job opportunities would be provided for the people who don't feel particularly inclined to join the army or the police. When you think about it, I've come a long way from the boy who was imprisoned in a tower of solid earth. I've lost people along the way, but at the very least I know their death was not for nothing. Nisi would have been proud of what this city has become, because after she was the first person to carve the tower that now became the palace, the very center of the city and it's original builder.
And Varsessa would be proud of her children, Gus is still Gus, but he's respected almost as much as he's fears. His sister elder Nivae is known as prodigy when it comes to magic, having a dual class of mage and priest. Their youngest Lynn has not gotten her class yet, but if rumors are to be believed the four and the half year old vampire was a gifted strategist with a love for chess. And then there's their big brother Kodak, a young man who has been through so much, but now stands as a beacon of hope for the many souls he had saved. They called him the Guardian, as if he was some sort of superhero.
"Why are you so lost in thought, you've not even taken the time to come see me, but rather you're moping about with your head in the clouds." A voice said from behind me.
I couldn't help the smile that stretched across my face as I turned to watch her come down the hall towards me. A couple of vampire elders were following right behind her, and she had smudges of dirt on her face and clothes, they all did.
"Baeki so sorry I couldn't pay you a visit, but I've been somewhat occupied and really busy." I said to her.
"Throwing a party? You've been too busy to come see me, because you threw a party, right? She asked with her eyebrows raised so far they disappeared into her hairline.
To say that I was feeling embarrassed was an understatement, she was my friend but standing here right now, made it seem like I was talking to my mom. Baeki had that aura around her, but that's to be expected, she's a mom after all. To avoid being interrogated any more than I've been, I changed the topic.
"So the markers required for the transference, how much more time do we need." I asked her.
"Time? We're already done. With the addition and help of the King of the soul Dragons, we finished way ahead of schedule. If you like we can begin the move first thing in the morning"
This was a pleasant surprise and it left me giddy with joy, but Baeki's next words caught me off guard.
"I'm leaving."
"Leaving? Where? Why?" I askedtruly surprise and hoping nothing was wrong.
"I've waited enough Kael, they're out there waiting for me, and on a planet that you own I might add. I can't wait any longer, I need to see them."
It was then I understood what she meant, hundreds of thousands of years since her reincarnation, she had already let go of her past life and embraced what was placed in front of her. And then just like magic she sees her husband again, and he's just like her, a dragon king. But the weird thing is that he's the same, exactly the way she left him and her son. It was like he journeyed across time just to have a chance to be with the woman he loves once again. It was so romantic and reeked of destiny.
"I understand Baeki, but leaving this planet won't be easy. Give me a little time to have a proper ship built, and give you an escort. But if you can't wait I have some contacts back from when I was human that can help, but it would have to be just you since having a lot of vampires behind you would paint a target on your back.
And honestly based on what I know about where he is, you alone won't be ablehelp him. So please hold on a little longer, let's make proper preparations and I promise you in a months time or even less, your husband and son would be in your arms again."
"That's a bold promise Kael, I'm trusting you to keep it. Or else….."
That was ominous, but I had every intention of keeping my promise. I can not imagine going through what she has, I love Asha, Xaseah and my children so much that the idea of spending even a year away from them would kill me. Baeki had spent over 600 thousand years and some change away from them. I had to keep that promise, no matter what, after all I have a personal stake in this.
