The Knight Frigates were cities in their own right, though as imposing as they looked, they're lacked a lot of offensive capabilities and maneuverability, but that's to be expected seeing how large they are. I walked into the bridge of the ship, planting my butt on the commander's chair, members of the crew, walked around running system checks beforewe set out for the world itself.
Asha and Xaseah were in the residential area with Cassiel and Michael, they will be watching and experiencing the lift off from there. Majority of the officers on the bridge were actually dragons, and how that work was that dragons had human forms. There was a lot of argument going on around about whether or notthe dragons were more powerful in their human form, or in their large city destroying forms.
Funny thing about this argument was that the dragons had nothing to do with it, but rather it was being driven around by the other races much to the amusement of the dragons. It was funny, but at the very least it instilled a sense of companionship amongst all of them, further cementing the thought in my heart that everything was going to be okay in my absence. One of the dragons bunched over a dashboard with a dark elf by his side raised his head and gave me a thumbs up, signaling me that the Knight was ready for takeoff.
"All hands to your stations and start the take off sequence." Soon everyone was moving around, either taking their seats, or standing in some cases as multiple members of the crew began to call out system checks from their stations.
" Primary, Secondary and Tertiary power cores are system green at 100% capacity"
"Energy Shields are system green at 85% and climbing."
"Weapons system online and green at 100% capacity."
"Spatial Gate Warp Drive and Homing Beacon is charging and 100% capacity in 5,4,3,2,1,0. Spatial Gate Warp Drive and Homing Beacon is online."
"Navigation and life support systems online and at 100% capacity."
"All systems green your Majesty! We're ready for take off and dimension Jump." Someone said to me.
"Very well then, full speed ahead towards the spatial gate. Lock in our coordinates, and brace yourselves."
The Frigate shook a bit, and then it slowly rose up into the air, achieving a height of over fifty meters in less than 30 seconds as it face was looked like a massive archway. The realm was within and independent space, a separate dimension that doesn't share space and time with the rest of the universe. But if I should be more precise, I think the proper thing to say would be there was no space above the realms sky, just an unending sea of spatial storms and the void, a complete nothingness. So in other to get to where we want to be, we have to teleport to back to Shearath, or to the space above it.
Either way the Archway in front of us was over four hundred meters tall, more than twice the size of the Frigates at 150 meters all. And it was equally just as wide. It was made from refined silver mythril, and golden Orichalcium. With mythril being the strongest magical metal, and Orichalcium the metal alloy most compatible with magic, capable of channeling intense amounts of it without any risks to it's structural integrity. And Ina genius of magic and science, the void compound Ionite, was properly refined and used to enhance the defense of the spatial gate. As it is, every attack sent at the gate, as long as it has energy of any form, would be rendered void and incapable of even leaving a scratch on it.
Anyway the Spatial gate was just a gate, it didn't lead anywhere and the only thing it did was create a field of spatial energy capable of teleporting anyone and anything with a beacon and coordinates, anywhere in the universe. As long as the gates doesn't lead anywhere, and only people and vehicles with a beacon can use it to return back here, there was very little danger to the spatial gate.
Though it has not been perfected yet, as it is the energy the spatial gate gives can still be tracked and traced, so it's possible that the moment the gate is used, people with really good surveillance systems would notice the disturbances if causes, track it, and even reverse engineer the beacon that's used to travel through the gate. But should they succeed in doing that then, what they find on the other end of the gate would be nothing more than death and fangs, lots of fangs.
The technology and security for the spatial gate was still being researched, and in no time at all, a full proof system for both observations and camouflage would be developed. Or at least that's what the research and development people tell me.
Anyway the frigate moved forward, with Kodak's and Baeki close behind, captain of their own Knight. They each had their set locations, but only me and Kodak would be close by on the same planet, which is of course Shearath, but for how long I'll be there, that depends on how much hell I can raise, and how short a time I can raise it.
The Frigate got close to the Spatial gate, and as it got close to the Archway, runes, wards and spell circles that have been carved on the surface of the archway lit up, and the archway rippled, like it had some sort of transparent veil placed on it's surface. It was like we were flying into water, and the moment the front part of the rectangle shaped frigate made contact with the rippled of the spatial gate, there was a bright flash of light, and we suddenly found ourselves flying over a massive spatial storm.
"Your Majesty the Spatial Jump was a success. We're currently 40,000 feet above what was previously the mountain range of Noxis Nyx. The ship's system is now updating it's database using information from Univernet. We should be up to date at the current state of the universe in under an hour." A dark elf officer said to me, but he was immediately interrupted by a Nephilim female officer.
"Your Majesty, we have multiple objects showing up on our scanners. They're not really large, but analysis suggests their fighter crafts, or battle drones, they don't look friendly. Should I attempt a hail." She said to me as massive hologram sprung up, showing the surrounding area in a radius of ten kilometers, it should be more, but it seems this spatial storms are interfering with the ships radar.
"No problem Siel, connect me with them, assuming any one of those crafts are manned."
Siel nodded her head and went to work, but before she could make contact, a message came through the ship's communications line. Looks like these guys noticed us before we noticed them, which means they were already waiting for us.
"This Major Desmond Jifut of the 81st battalion, Human coalition army. Unidentified space craft, you are in a restricted air space. Identify yourself, and prepare to be boarded."
Desmond Jifut? I actually knew that guy. The 81st battalion was an army built from the combinations of soldiers from every major human force, inclusive of the seven nobles families, and the 46 governors. Desmond was once the captain of the guard of a rival noble family, the Nestars. Asare kicked his butt one time when they carried out an unauthorized raid on crystal mining planet that belong to the Cor family.
"Major Desmond, long time no see. I see you're no longer the Nestars lap dog, did they get rid of you or was this a promotion? If they're sent you here after me, then they must really hate you, because dude that's a death sentence." I said to him, and as soon I finished talking, the door to the bridge slid open as Asha and Xaseah walked in, decked in full military uniform. Now I had to behave.
"I do not know who is speaking, or why you deign to think you can use such a familiar tone with me, but my stance remains. You're violating protocol flying around in restricted air space, identify yourself and prepare to be boarded! Or we will open fire and shoot you out of the sky." He replied, looks like he's still as rigid as before.
Due to the spatial storm, we couldn't see each other, which means every ship here was relying mainly on radar to locate the other. And at this very moment, I knew that we were all surrounded. But I wasn't worried, everyone here was itching for a fight, but I think it would be best if we settled this without any problems, at least not until we've exhausted every other option."
"Maxine, please why don't we do as the good man just said we should, identify ourselves."
Maxine was a human, in fact she was on of the only six humans on board. That number was not because of prejudice or anything, utter rather because that's the amount of qualified humans that can be on board, with the others undergoing training. But even then, Humans had the third smallest population in Ethernalia Leonis, right after the werewolves and the giants. But Maxine was special, she was a combat specialist, a trained pilot, and a member of the PRIDE that had found her way to Ethernalia Leonis along with some of the other soldiers of the Cor family. Most of them were still back home, training a new generation of PRIDE soldiers, AKA the royal guard. But Maxine had a special position, she was the real commander of this ship, and also 1st commander of the royal guard.
"This is Commander Maxine Hellgrave; 1st commander of the royal guard of Ethernalia Leonis, shield and sword of his royal Majesty Kael Cor, Lion of Shearath, King Of the Soul dragon, Child of Nature and High King of Spero. This is a royal vessel carrying the royal family of Spero, as one soldier to another, I urge you to caution yourself and watch your words. It would not be wise if this becomes a diplomatic situation, because quite frankly you can not afford to fuck with us!"
Asha slapped me at the back of my head. And why did she do so, well it was obvious that she did not agree with the way Maxine chose to end our so called introduction. It could have been avoided, but I chose to Maxine for a reason; she had a short fuse and was one of the most dominating person I know.
"Commander Maxine last I remembered, Lord Kael of house Cor is a noble of the human coalition, his sovereignty, and new found status has not been recognized, and even then. He has been branded as criminal of the highest order with a massive bounty on his head. No quarter would be given if you resist, prepare to be boarded or die!"
"You know what Desmond, fuck you! Hope you brought an army with you, because right now I have a lot of people itching to carve you up. See you in the skies bitch!" as soon Maxine finished she turned to me and bowed.
"Your Majesty, permission to go shoot those bastards out of the sky."
"Permission? Maxine my dear I'm going to join you. I assume we can not use the Knights weapons system to blast them to oblivion right?" I asked, and one of the dragons on the bridge answered.
"Yes your Majesty, the spatial storm is interfering with the ships radar and targeting systems, plus we're not sure about what sort of chain reaction would occurs should a shot from the ship's cannons be used within the storm. Simulation are still being run, but it's deduced that it's only safe enough for the smaller crafts to do battle."
"Very well then, prepare the Squires for deployment, and set one aside for me. Asha my love please take command of the ship, Xaseah my darling shall we go play a little round of battlestar galactica?"
"err what?" Xaseah asked confused by my usage of an earth terms she didn't understand.
"don't worry about it. Maxine please lead the way, let's go announce our arrival, the universe won't know what hit them."
