Medusa didn't know what to react to the lion situation; she can't run because if she does, then the lion target her as her initial enemy. On the other hand, she can't stay in the same spot because if she does, then the lion will come to get her eventually. What can she do to avoid being the initial target and get out of the situation to a safer place?
As she is planning her way out, the man notices that he doesn't have the time to pick up the gun because the lion is slowly walking toward him and Medusa. Therefore, his initial thought is to run away like what Medusa had in mind at the beginning. The man doesn't have the intelligence as Medusa has, he didn't think it through and started to run. The lion sees the man begins to run since the lion couldn't figure out the reason why the man is running, so it considers the run as a threat to it. However, the animal instinct inside it quickly react to the man's action; it jumps toward the man trying to terminate the threat before it can happen. Medusa sees everything happen in front of her eyes and quickly comes up with a plan.
The plan is to stop the man from running and let the lion gets to him, and she can use this time to run. Quick after this idea comes to her mind, she then sees there is a flaw exist in this plan. That is when the lion finished killing the man, and since the living beings in this planet have the common habit of storing more food in their stock for themselves to consume, this lion will target her as it's spare food, and for that reason the lion will come for her after it takes care of the man. It doesn't matter if the lion uses a lot of time to finish up the man, the scent Medusa has will be the guideway for the lion to locate her, and its speed is way faster than Medusa's, so there is no way this plan can work with this flaw.
Therefore, she needs to come up with a solution to fix this flaw as soon as possible. Medusa looks at the man and notices the man is strong and big. She knows that whenever any living being's life is threatened by danger outside of their capability, the living creature will do anything to protect themselves until the last second of their lives. She predicts that this man will do the same thing as all the other living creature will do. Notably, the man in front of her eyes is a self-fish man; this type of guy will do extra to fight against the threat. Judging from that prediction, she has a little bit more time to come up with a solution for the flaw in her plan.
"Ahhh! Help me!" The man looks back at Medusa begging for him.
What is the man thinking? After all the insult and murdered her only close friend and the speech he gave her; does he believe that Medusa will drop down all the hate and put her life on the line to help him?
"Wait! Help him?" An idea flashes through Medusa's head,
"OKay! I'll help you, but you will need to buy me some time."
What! Medusa is going to help the bastard that just ruined her dream and her friend? What can we say...After all, she still is an innocent little girl that step her foot out onto this ugly, evil world not too long ago.
"Okay!" The man sees hope and harshly answers.
Then Medusa is slowly stepping back from the man and the lion as they are about to fight. The lion didn't notice Medusa's little movement and continuing to focus on the significant threat it has. After Medusa promised to help the man; the man suddenly puts up a disappointment looks, but quick;y change back to a serious face because he will be fighting a wild, fierce beast.
The lion finally got onto the man; due to its weight, as soon as the lion jumped onto him, he couldn't handle it's weight and falls on the ground. The lion is biting on the man's left hand that the man uses to protect his face. The man was no newbie when it comes to fighting; he applies his kneecap to kicks the lion's stomach to do some damage on the lion. The lion didn't care about the man's attack and bit even harder on the man's arm, the man's arm is bleeding bad. The bit is so strong, and the lion's teeth are way thicker and sharper than the skin on the man's arm can handle. The teeth penetrate through the skin and get to the bone; it is only an inch left before the arm disjoint from the man's body.
The man is screaming from pain like a pig being slaughter by the butcher. However, that didn't stop the man keep on attacking the lion. The man point of his finger and pokes the lion's eyeball, and because of that the lion roars and lets go of the man's arm. The good news is the lion temporarily blinded, but the bad news is the man's arm is permanently disabled. Compare to the man's head will be the next target after the lion bits off the arm, losing an arm is a fortune out of misfortune.
On the other side, Medusa uses the time of the lion is attacking the man; she took steps back and gets into a medium size bush to hide her location, and then walks around the lion and the man to get the gun that the man drops. On the way to get the gun, Medusa's cloth is destroyed by the thorn that usually grows in the bushes; making her nearly naked, but there is no time for her to be shy. She must get the gun before the lion finishes the man and comes for her. The lion doesn't care if Medusa is nake or not; either way she is a delicious flesh in its eyes.
Where there is will, there is a way; Medusa finally reaches where the gun dropped. She quickly grabs on the rifle and ready to pull the trigger. However, there is a problem; she doesn't know anything about guns; she has never held a gun in her life. All she knows is the thing on her are powerful and can kill anything living being on this planet, but that knowledge is all from the people in the town.
"How I use this thing!" Medusa screams for help.
"The gun is loaded, you can just pull the trigger!" The man hears Medusa's scream and replies.
"Where is the trigger?" Medusa asks again.
"It's the silver curve under the body of the rifle!" The man anxiously replies because there is no time for them both to figure things out right now, his life is on the line.
"This?" Medusa asks.
"Yes!" The man didn't see what Medusa shows, but still gives her a certain answer,
"Aim at the lion! Point the rifle to the lion's head!" He is also afraid that Medusa will miss her first shot and the lion will kill him right after.
