Prince William's dinner party was set in a side hall of the Palace.
Tang Yan entered the Palace with the group of nobles and ambassadors.
Walking along the corridors, you could see hanging crystal chandeliers.
And heading up a fleet of stairs, there were oil paintings adorning the walls, famous products of European painting masters, each piece worth its weight in gold.
Reaching the second floor, you could see antiques and ornaments all around, walking through this section, it felt like you were walking into a wing of the British Museum.
The splendid decorations of the royal family really showed off the luxury side of life.
"This place is…..wow!" Zhuang Jiajie couldn't help whispering with emotion as he walked alongside Tang Yan.
"I wonder how much this would all go for if they sold it." Tang Yan said lightly.
"Well, I reckon most of these items are one of a kind, with a plethora of history so they'll be in the millions. Altogether it'll at least be in the hundreds of millions maybe even break a billion as a collection." Zhuang Jiajie responded.
Between the two talking, they had reached the end of the corridor, and after taking another turn, the guards leading didn't go forward, but stood to the left and right of the door.
It seemed that the room behind the guards was the dining room.
Prince William entered the room first , followed by the rest of the group.
Inside was a white-style dining room, about 100 square meters, but compared with the luxurious outside, inside was much more simple, except for the necessary chairs and the lengthy dining table in the center of the room, there weren't many luxurious decorations.
It was rumored that Queen Elizabeth II preferred the simple life, and it seemed that wasn't completely groundless.
After getting seated, the nobles and the ambassadors began to chat. Tang Yan and Zhuang Jiajie were sat towards the end of the table so were far from the centre of conversation.
After about half an hour, the wall facing the table suddenly rose.
It was only then that Tang Yan noticed that it wasn't a real wall, but a decoy for a door.
The door opened, and out walked…..
Queen Elizabeth II.
"Your Majesty!" Duke Campbell turned ecstatic when he saw the appearance of the Queen and got up bowing.
Campbell was like this. So everyone else's shock was naturally even greater. They were only invited by the prince to attend a dinner. But unexpectedly, they actually ran into the Queen. They quickly followed Campbell's example and bowed.
For many of them, this was the first and perhaps the only time they would see the queen.
Tang Yan was also stunned to run into the Queen of England.
Although she was more than 90 years old and her face was full of wrinkles, she still looked energetic, and she was looking over everyone with a placid and peaceful expression.
After politely bowing, Tang Yan looked to the queen calmly. When by coincidence they locked gazes, the Queen stared at him for about four or five seconds before turning her head.
"Please, everyone don't worry. You don't have to be so restrained, I'm sorry for my intrusion. I just haven't seen little William for some time." The Queen said in a gentle tone. Although she was more than 90 years old, the life of royalty had her in good health.
"It's great to see you grandmother, these are my friends and guests who have come over to accompany me today. We were just about to have dinner, would you like to dine with us?" Prince William said with a smile.
"It would be an honor for us to dine with you, your majesty." Earl Louis said with due course.
The others also politely nodded.
The Queen nodded, smiled and turned to Prince William: "Well then William, aren't you going to introduce me to your friends?"
"Oh, I almost forgot." Prince William snapped his head, then pointed to Campbell. "You remember Duke Campbell. He is the 13th Duke of Argyll."
"Arrrhh little Campbell, I remember the last time I saw you, you were still small, following Jenny about (Campbell's mother), I can't believe you're so big now." The Queen chuckled.
"Your Majesty, I didn't expect you to remember me." Campbell replied excited.
"This is Earl Louis, he is...." Prince William continued the introductions.
The Queen just nodded this time with a slight smile.
William ran through the nobles, giving their names and ranks without much fanfare.
But when he finished and looked to Tang Yan, there was a burst of excitement in his eyes, and he said, "This is Tang Yan, an archer from China. His archery skills are very impressive. You just missed out on....."
Prince William rambled on telling the story of what occurred in the afternoon.
The Queen hearing such a warm introduction from Prince William, couldn't help but glance over Tang Yan again.
"It's really a pity that you didn't get to see his performance." William said with a trace of regret in his voice.
Hearing such high praise from Prince William, Campbell couldn't help but feel a little pain in his heart. He couldn't help but add in at this time: "Your Majesty, also missed out on seeing an archery genius of our own, Alan Covington. Covington is rising very quickly up the ranks, at just 16 years old. He's from Winton as well, an ordinary country boy."
"Hahaha indeed Covington also showed tremendous talent out there today!." Earl Louis echoed.
"Actually, Covington had even more he wanted to show us but we got sidetracked. He can shoot blindfolded!" Campbell continued.
"Blindfolded?" Upon hearing something new, Prince William became curious again.
"Yes, the next time we have the opportunity, I would love to get him to show it to Her Majesty and your Royal Highness." Campbell said with a smile.
"Good! Good!" Prince William's attention became removed from Tang Yan.
Zhuang Jiajie frowned at this.
But Tang Yan was indifferent, whilst they were discussing enthusiastically, he just took up the wine glass in front of him and drank from the glass.
He hadn't come to seek any limelight. The performance in the afternoon was purely because he wanted to test his limits. As for the current situation, he wasn't very interested in being drawn in.
"In fact whilst the long-distance shots today were impressive, it's good to remember that they were all done with all the senses available. Imagine taking away an archer's sight, your Highness and then asking them to shoot. That's why next time we should have Covington perform blindfolded archery, that's real skill!"
Duke Campbell's words made Tang Yan frown but he bit his tongue.
"Hahaha blindfolded archery, such skill." Earl Louis echoed.
