When Tang Yan's name was shouted out by the host, the crowd followed with an explosive cheer.
Tang Yan waved at the audience at his name.
Okamoto did boxing motions at his name.
The referee signaled to them.
Tang Yan and Okamoto went to the center of the ring.
They touched gloves then went back to their corners.
Yesterday, Lu Yun's defeat was unpleasant but through it Tang Yan gained understanding of Okamoto's fighting style.
The audience cheered with a burst of excitement.
Without waiting for Tang Yan's offensive, Okamoto took the lead in launching an offensive against Tang Yan.
Okamoto was very quick, he threw out a combination of punches in just a few seconds.
There was sporadic exclamation at the scene. Obviously, from the sharper offensive today Okamoto hadn't showed his all in yesterday's fight!
Tang Yan was also slightly surprised but when Okamoto's fist came in front of him he continued to dodge and avoid his attacks.
Wing Chun was quick in offense and the same in defense.
Okamoto felt it very quickly, he couldn't get a clean hit on Tang Yan.
Although he was young, he had a lot of experience in boxing. When he realized how inefficient it was, he stopped his attack and then quickly opened up distance between them.
Tang Yan escaped the last blow of Okamoto. He prepared to fight back and suddenly found that Okamoto had already retreated to the other side of the boxing ring.
In fact, it wasn't just him, even the audience didn't understand it. Why did he suddenly retreat, and so far at that?
Qin Hailong saw deeper. Okamoto had realized that he couldn't beat Tang Yan with speed. He didn't want to waste his physical strength too much like Lu Yun did yesterday.
Okamoto turned to face the confused Tang Yan, dropped his guard and taunted at him, beckoning him to attack with his hand.
Yesterday, he did this same action to Lu Yun.
Tang Yan first frowned and then followed it up with a smile.
Okamoto thought it was better to save energy and stop chasing Tang Yan. He preferred to slug it out with Tang Yan directly trading blow for blow or just waste his energy by getting him to attack.
Tang Yan was at home, the audience's cheers were on his side so if Tang Yan didn't move after his provocative action, he believed he would be drowned under spit.
He wanted to force Tang to make a choice.
Once Tang Yan hesitated, it would attract dissatisfaction from the audience.
And the facts were indeed as he expected, the audience launched into a roar at Okamoto's actions.
Edging on Tang Yan to attack and finish him off.
Tang Yan made a choice almost instantly. He chose to accelerate and attack.
Okamoto saw Tang Yan's choice and he was happy. He set up in a defensive posture. He would use his defensive speed and experience to work his opponent.
Tang Yan guessed the intentions of Okamoto but he wasn't afraid.
The scene also quickly cheered.
After advancing to a close enough distance, Tang Yan's left hand directly punched out with a jab.
Okamoto's hands were held a little higher, protecting his head. He blocked the jab, ducked under a second but was caught by the third.
Taking the hit he traded it with a left hook of his own to Tang Yan's ribs. It jarred him.
He followed up with a jab to Tang Yan's face. Which connected, Tang Yan took a step back to the left and threw a looping right.
Okamoto leaned his body away from the punch and edged away.
"Whoosh"
He managed to dodge to the right and distance himself just out of range of the left that followed.
He looked at Tang Yan and showed a faint smile.
Tang Yan couldn't help but smile back in appreciation before unceremoniously letting loose two fast left jabs, he peppered at Okamoto with a shower of featherweight rights and lefts, moving around a little faster now.
Okamoto waited until he was sure he wasn't going to run into anything solid, then stepped in, taking a light left to the jaw, hooked a savage right to Tang Yan's cheek. He brought up his left and sank the right again working away at him. Tang Yan wheezed out air being caught on an exhalation, he was winded and he went back against the ropes on his heels.
Okamoto lunged after him, grunting as he threw in a hard left and a harder right. Mist swam before Tang Yan's eyes and he clutched at Okamoto's arms, but Okamoto pushed him away, took a short step backward and drove a straight right to Tang Yan's jaw. He hit him twice more with short hooks as he went down. Tang Yan sagged to his hands and knees and swayed, his head hanging. Okamoto gave him a short glance, then backed away.
He stood in place and waited for Tang Yan to clear his head and get back up.
Tang Yan was back up fairly quickly.
He saw Okamoto stood back motioning him forward to attack again.
