Chapter 161 - Sisterhood Unaffected!

Sometimes,

Sometimes we can't predict what's ahead of us, what is going to grace or destroy our hopeful wishes. Sometimes it turns totally opposite to what we have hope for, shattering the picture of our desired future but there are exceptions when the situation comes out in our favour, surprising us.

Hestia had never imagined even in her scariest nightmare that her composed personality would let loose the original look,  she didn't wonder that her hormones would be triggered due to Syna's insistence which were the stimulus for Hestia to transform after mating with Hades, because her powers were awakened now.

When Hades popped up into her life with his original name Brandon Brighton, and approached Hestia when she was with Syna in the restaurant and intentionally walked over to them.

Hades was informed about the location of his bride by the lackeys, who were assigned to keep an eye on her after Hades got her whereabouts. The lord of hell didn't want to miss the chance of getting close to Hestia, although at that moment he was totally u aware of her identity but as the Lord was holding strong feelings towards his mate, it didn't matter to Hades.

Later on, he approached Hestia intentionally as a drunkard who was at her mercy and intended to create the situation that forces the lady to take him to her home, which actually happened but soon the witty and observant woman discovered everything.

She wanted to quarrel with him for tricking her but her anger overpowered her senses, that Hestia lost control over her true form and grew out her sharp fangs but before she could attack him, Hades pulled her into a squeezing hug.

Although, both the ladies had strong aura but something was different about them both, Hestia was calm and mostly don't lose her mind while Syna tend to react rationally.

It was the only moment that the vampire princess's identity got revealed before Hades, who acknowledged everything about her because he had heard from Sinclair about a banished princess from vampire kingdom but never imagined the lady to be his mate.

Hestia dug her fangs into the crook of his neck, the attempt was solely on the basis of anger which was bubbling in her because she had already been dumped by a human man and now Hades had toyed with her feelings too. Completely aware of her deed, Hestia marked Hades by biting the man as her, the only thing remained unclaimed was Hades's decision of marking his 'territory'.

Lolita was trying to calm herself in front of Syna but she knew deep down that her friend would eventually caught her hesitant behaviour regarding not to disclose the identity of her, being a vampire princess.

Just as Hestia had expected, Syna immediately sensed something odd in her appearance and behaviour, thus she questioned to her friend. Lolita's body was truthful and her treacherous hormones overcame the senses that her eyes changed color due to fear of losing her only friend.

"Oh my goodness, Lolita! W- why your eye color is changing?"

Some sort of strange emotions overcame her, maybe fear, that Syna let go of her hands and crept backwards while her horror struck face didn't leave Lolita's face and her red demonic eyes!

Hestia didn't expect that her body would react like that in fear of losing a friend, her hormones caused the changing of eye color. She leaped towards Syna with pleading eyes, a whisper left her lips more likely as of she was trying to speak having a lump in her throat.

"Syna, listen to me, Syna!"

"No! Stay away from me!"

As Hestia intended to lunge forward to grab Syna's hand, the lady stopped her by raising hand in front of her face.

Syna burst out in rage which was quite odd from the expected reaction, as she yelled at Lolita with disbelief in her eyes.

"No, Syna, it's certainly not like you are assuming. Please, listen to me…"

Hestia almost pleaded to her with tears swelling up in her eyes upon the very thought that Syna was now afraid of her. The girls never had a single quarrel but now Syna wasn't willing to give her a chance to speak let alone seeing Lolita as a friend!

Syna curled her legs and tucked knees to her b.r.e.a.s.ts, clearly she feared Lolita, who was once a supportive shoulder to cry and rely upon. Syna's behaviour and cold shoulder caused her heart to shrink, Lolita hadn't expect such a harsh reaction from her friend and this made her crestfallen, that her pleading voice turned into a whisper.

"Please, for once."

"Why did you hide this from me?"

Lolita cautiously sat on the mattress close to Syna, who chirped in an angry tone, laced with a complaining voice.

"What?"

Hestia's eyes widened upon hearing her complaining voice, when she had expected Syna to be frightened of her rather she spoke something totally unexpected.

"Why did you hide it from that you aren't a human, Lolita?"

Syna questioned to her, more likely a confrontation.

"Just why? You could have just told me when I arrived to you with my rants about the Ghost Lord!"

Her voice raised a little with a lot of complains, bearing a bombardment of unsaid questions.

"I- I know it was my mistake…"

Lolita's whisper resonated feebly in the quiet room which turned into an anxious expression as her audible voice rose a little.

"I swear, I did not mean to hide it from you, Syna. I just didn't know how to tell you all this because… because I, myself didn't know that I had already jumped into the whirlpool unknowingly."

Lolita lowered her head while she explained everything to her friend, she knew it was the moment to spill the beans truthfully or else she would lose Syna's trust for forever.

"What whirlpool you are talking about Lolita? What more are you hiding from me? Don't you think, you owe me an explanation now, after all this?"

Unaware of everything Syna was confused about each and every word Hestia said, she was afraid at first but soon the happy years they both had spent together overcame that frightening revelation, that she was willing to listen to whatever she had to say, after all Lolita was still her friend and Syna had considered it.

"Syna? Do you trust me, Syna? I will explain it to you but if you are willing to trust me, to give me another chance. You know, we two only have each other."

Lolita knew that only negotiations could solve the misunderstandings and could uproot the unsaid thorns of suspicions among them both.

"Yes, I do. No matter who or… "

Syna didn't want to say what her mind was thinking but it eventually slipped from her tongue, that Lolita didn't mind it actually. It was justified because Syna was already surrounded by many supernatural beings at one time, on the top her mate was also not a human and definitely not an ordinary supernatural being rather a King!

"Who or what you are, I still trust you. It won't change our love for each other, neither our trust nor the sisterly bond between us would be affected."

Syna assured her friend but forgot to choose her words wisely.

"My name is Hestia. Hestia Matteo Leste."

Syna was all ears, her eyes were darted onto the lady sitting in front of her, with her head lowered and eyes hinting a burdened guilt.

Hestia could have told her the day Syna arrived to her apartment but she avoided to disclose the things, fearing that she might not understand and it would only upset her even more.

"I'm from vampire kingdom, Syna. A prophecy was held when I turned sixteen that I was supposed to be given into the services of the bride of Ghost Lord."

"What!?"

Syna's impatience hit and she spit out within a shocking tone as soon as Lolita paused.

"Ahh, yeah. Because the Ghost Lord had saved our kingdom from crumbling when it was already on the verge of vanishing. As a gratitude to the Lord, I was appointed as the guardian of his bride because it was predicted that her life would be in danger."

"What the f.u.c.k! This is madness, you were given to me because of some stupid prophecy? Is that why you approached me Lolita? No, Hestia."

Syna burst out in rage sensing that Lolita's eyes had turned to normal color. She suspected that Lolita intentionally arrived to the orphanage and pretended to be her friend, which drove her mad.

"F.u.c.k, no! I escaped from my kingdom using a spell as It was actually a big thing to swallow and I wanted my freedom rather surrendering to that Oracle prediction, I decided to give it a go to forbidden spells. And that's how I arrived into human realm, I swear I didn't know you were the bride of Ghost Lord until the day you came to my apartment."

Lolita paused for a moment and sighed helplessly before she continued, and glanced at Syna, who was staring at her.

"We both are victims, Syna. I thought I had successfully escaped from my destiny but who would have known that I have been performing my duties unknowingly. And you thought you could beat your fate by escaping the Ghost Lord and his family but eventually you ended up with his brother, Sinclair MacLaverty."

Lolita again paused for a moment, she didn't lift her head up, suspecting that Syna might not have believed her. A grim silence accompanied the quickened voices of their beating hearts while the ladies kept on analysing everything with their sealed lips.
