Chapter 63：William vs Lucifer

Lucifer began a charge towards James. Liam drew out chunks of metal out of the ground and Mathew propelled them at Lucifer. Lucifer slammed his axe into the ground and used him forward momentum to send himself into a front flip avoiding most of the metal before spinning the axe in one hand that deflected the rest.

"Damn, he didn't even slow down!" yelled Mathew.

"You can't even use thee full potential of your weapons!" called Lucifer. He weaved past Ben, Sophie, and Kyle before encountering William. "My business is with James."

Shifting movement to the right, he rolled to the side of William and went to launch forward towards his last three obstacles. Suddenly, something wrapped it's way around his leg and pulled him backwards. Lucifer looked back at William holding onto his leg with a large arm made out of water. William continued to build up the ice and water giant form until he had a firm grip on Lucifer and his weapon.

"So you want to play big!? Oh, we can play big!" shouted Lucifer. His right arm morphed into it's dragon form and it ripped out of William's grip. It was followed by the rest of his body until he morphed fully into a much larger dragon form. Grabbing William's giant form by the shoulders, Lucifer forced William back and pushed him onto his back. From there it was a one sided battle as Lucifer tore the giant form apart limb by limb with his mouth.

"William! Get out of there!" demanded James. William looked his dead in the eyes and then looked at the dragon with a face of fury. A fist punched out of the giant's chest into Lucifer's face knocking it back a little.

"I am tired!" screamed William and the fist punched again causing Lucifer to retreat backwards a few steps. "I have a hangover!" continued William and the giants arms and legs returned to deliver a kick to the ribs followed by a spin to gain speed and a punch upwards disorientating Lucifer. "And - I - am - pissed!" between each word William punched and kicked Lucifer finishing with an axe kick. Lucifer moved his head to the side, avoided the attack, and blew blue fire at William at high force.

The water began to evaporate into steam but William kept fighting and fired a torrent of water back at Lucifer's fire. The two elements collided causing fire and water to fly out in many directions. Everyone else below ran for cover in the exit tunnels but James jumped up onto the balcony where Macull was and found no trace of him. Looking back at the fight, James instantly saw that both of them couldn't keep going for much longer. William's water was quickly depleting and Lucifer had burn marks forming all around his mouth.

"James, we should intervene! William isn't going to last much longer and we can get some damaging hits in on Lucifer if we act while he's distracted!" advised the omni-god. James walked up to the edge of the balcony and looked at William and Lucifer.

"He deserves to do this himself. And I know what will help him along." said James.

"What do yo-"

"HEY WILLIAM! YOU ALWAYS HELD A GRUDGE AGAINST ME FOR CYNTHINIA'S DEATH! WELL RIGHT NOW YOU'RE FIGHTING THE REAL REASON SHE DIED IN YOUR ARMS! THE REAL REASON THE ONE YOU LOVE IS DEAD! ARE YOU GOING TO LET THIS OPPORTUNITY GO TO WASTE OR ARE YOU GONNA AVENGE HER?!" called James. William gritted his teeth and looked Lucifer in the eyes. Cynthinia dead in his arms flooded William's head and his eyes glowed white followed by his trident. It's blades shone bright white and it grew to be proportionate with William's giant form.

The torrent of water doubled in size and engulfed Lucifer; sending him flying into the area where the crowd would sit. William rose up to full height with a now gargantuan trident in hand.

"Well that worked a lot better than I originally thought. I was just expecting a final push but a weapon upgrade works too." said James sitting down in Macull's chair.

"I wouldn't so sure about that." informed the omni-god.

"What do you mean?"

"The state that William's now entered is known as celestial burst. A very high level ability that draws out the full power of a god or goddesses. I seems that those with a celestial weapon can also use it he'll end up like you if he uses it too much. His body is taking the full force of a god's power and in his current state he'll last ten minutes at most. And that's if he conserves energy."

"So we may have to join in sooner than expected. Well then listen up, I have a battle strategy."

Lucifer rose up and roared at William. The ground shook as the low pitched shout echoed all over the island. He quickly started a charge for William who leaped into the air towards the island's sun. Lucifer looked up to keep track of him but was blinded as the light refracted through the water into his eyes. The water condensed to a point at William's back as he grabbed onto the enlarged trident. The high pressure water expanded in the blink of an eye shooting William and the trident down towards Lucifer. Lucifer regained sight only to see screaming William slam his trident into their back and out the other side.

Lucifer was pinned to the ground as he and the trident shrunk down to normal size. William removed the weapon from Lucifer's body and kick him onto his back. He brought the trident down again back into the hole it created to stop the heal process.

"I must ask. How that spine of yours holding up after that bullet paralysed you waist down. I doubt even that it fully healed." said Lucifer and he kicked William in the stomach sending him backwards. Then grabbing his shins, he flipped him upside down and knee striked him in the base of his spine.

The fragile bone was instantly shattered and William flopped to the floor unconscious from the pain. Lucifer pulled the trident out and threw it to the ground next to William's body. The hole sealed and all the other injuries faded except the scar and stab wound.

"I always wait for the day this wound heals. The day when I can forget about my pathetic excuse of a descendant. YOU DON'T DESERVE MY POWER! Yet it's exactly that which means it will never fade like the rest. My own power scaring me for a lifetime. And now we can finally finish what we started." said Lucifer.
