"Fredrick?! Where on earth did you run to?" I see Matthew yelling at the phone as he calls Fred.
He looks at me putting the phone on speakerphone.
"Oh, dude. I'm just having a date no big deal." Fred says in a chill tone making Matthew roll his eyes.
"You're having a date?! In the time we are hanging out? Are you freaking serious? What if that girl has a boyfriend and you get beaten up again? Guess who's the one that's going to patch you up again?" Matthew squints his eyes, yelling at Fred like a concerned mother. I giggle a little at him.
He looks at me. "What's so funny?" He says in a serious tone.
"Oh, it's just you remind me so much of my mothers Matthew." I laugh.
"Ya. Don't be such a Debby downer Matthew. Have fun a little." Fred would tease on the phone.
"I don't need to be getting a lecture from you womanizing scumbag." Matthew rolls his eyes.
"So where the hell are you? A concert is almost starting and we are looking for the scattered people." Matthew asks clearly angry.
"Have fun looking virgin!" Fred teases before hanging up.
"Oh... Are you freaking kidding me!" Matthew throws his phone.
"Dude! Don't throw your phone!"
"No it's fine it's crash-proof see." He picks up the damage-free phone. Which made my eyes sparkle.
"But like how was Fred able to get a date like right now?" I asked him scratching his head.
"Fred has always been a womanizer. Ever since high school."
"Ooh, I guess you got a flashback story to tell!" My eyes sparkled in a little story.
"Fine, I'd tell you." He sighs
"During high school, I was a really quiet kid while Fred was a very charming kid. Basically, he was a chick magnet and everyone would just be goo goo gaga over him. I honestly don't understand why they would cling to him but I guess they like him for some reason. Said he looked like their "Biases" from a certain K-Pop group. Well, I never really listen to K-Pop so I have no idea."
"Usually no one would really talk to me since I'm a loner and preferred studying but since we were childhood friends he would always talk to me for some reason and would always just rant about his girlfriends. I guess I just served as somewhat his comic relief throughout high school."
"Basically he even told me that he didn't mean to steal someone's girlfriend but he just stole her for not doing anything and he got beaten up for that." Matthew would chuckle.
"Oh somebody was able to beat up Fred?" I joined in the laughing.
"Trust me Fred wasn't as muscular as he is now when he was in high school and this guy was damn strong he was the captain of the wrestling team after all so he got beaten up." Matthew laughs.
"Even though Fred is kind of a womanizer and he is kind of a douche. He still helped me with a few things. He chased away the bullies that were bullying me and told me that he was going to protect me or something. I guess we were really cringy when we were kids."
"But nevertheless high school was fun. He just got with a lot of girls though."
He would giggle.
I would frown as I get reminded by my highschool life. It was absolute shit.
"I wish I could say the same about my high school life."
"Oh. If you don't mind me asking? How was it in your previous school? Last time you mentioned that Rose and you were in the same school right before you transferred?"
"Yes. We were. My previous school was nothing but drama queens and bitchy girls. They always would idolize bitchy girls and would just bully you if you didn't dress the way "Girls are supposed to dress like."
"Well, what in their standard was supposed to be a girl's choice of clothing."
"They said I should be wearing a dress to marry a rich man and when I do something like mowing the lawn they would say "Oh well that's a man's job. You shouldn't be doing that you're a girl."
"That sounds really sexist."
"I know right! Basically those bitchy girls told me that I was being "boyish" or whatever and then would just proceed to treat me like garbage because I liked wearing t-shirts and jeans and not those uncomfortable dresses."
"That's why I've always been... a shut-in.... and never really had any friends... until Rose was kind enough to talk to me even if I was being difficult."
"Rose did look like a very enthusiastic girl also Lisa you know you're one nice girl right?" Matthew compliments me.
His words felt warm... and it removed the sadness in my heart.
"Thank you." I would smile at him.
"Well, time to find Fred!" Matthew would try to look around the convention.
"Hey wait!" When I look I already lost him in the crowds.
Ugh.. here we go again....
