65 Chapter 64: Break Time

"CAN WE PLEASE TAKE A BREAK, PLEASE HAVE MERCY!" I shouted, asking for mercy by the hands of Damien who is very cruel with school work. WHO KNEW A GUY THAT COULD PULL OF A SKIRT WOULD BE SO SCARY!

"Geez! Don't make this look like I'm doing this against your will or something." He bickered to me, giving me a sly smirk as he grabbed a few books.

"Now finish these 10 exercises and then when we check make sure that all of them are correct?" He drops down the encyclopedia sized books in the table. Making a large thumping noise. Scaring me and everyone in the area.

THESE ARE EXERCISE BOOKS? THEY'RE MORE LIKE DICTIONARIES AND THEY AREN'T EVEN THAT LONG.

"Hmm.. perhaps taking a break would be alright? Matthew suggested.

"SINCE WHEN DID I GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO SAY ORDERS?" Damien retorted, slapping his ruler on the palm of his hands.

"IS THE RULER REALLY NECESSARILY FOR TEACHING? I'M LIKE GETTING MORE SCARED." I expressed concern.

"Ugh. Fine. We can take a break. It is said that taking frequent breaks is good for retaining learning material so I would approve on Matthew's proposal to take a break." Damien sat down and put his ruler to the side.

ECCK. HIS RULER AND HIS WAY OF LOOKING AT YOU WITH THOSE DREADFUL EYES IS ENOUGH TO SEND MY SOUL TO HIGH HEAVENS. WHO KNEW HE WAS THIS STRICT WHEN TEACHING. I THOUGHT HE WAS NICE AND SWEET! I AM SO NOT GONNA HAVE HIM TEACH ME NEXT TIME!

"Here. For both of you." Damien pulls something from her pocket. A bar of chocolate... so brown and so sugary with the hint of bitterness to it.

"It should help you guys focus more. So eat this during your break and then we can resume got it?" He demanded us strictly, giving us the chocolate bars.

"Thank you so much, Damien." I accepted the chocolate bar and then proceeding to bite into it. Hmm.. it tastes delicious. It melts in your mouth although, I kind of prefer my chocolate with nuts or something chewy to eat it with.

"So what are you taking for the second semester of College?" Damien inquired Matthew and me.

Oh right... how it works in Golden Crown is that in the first semester... we study general subjects first and then once we reach the second semester, the remainder of our subjects will be related to our course. So I just have to pass these general subject exams so I can move on to choosing what course I want to take...

"Well.. my parents have encouraged me to take medicine. I actually want to be a neurosurgeon." Matthew spoke about what he wanted to become.

"What about you Lisa? What do you want to become exactly?" Damien turns to me to ask me the same question.

But now... I actually have friends... I have a purpose to keep living. I kept thinking about what other people thought of me when I dressed and I acted masculine but I never thought about what I want. I wish I could say what I wanted... but I don't know what I want... I've never really thought about it...

"I wish... I could say what I want... but I actually can't..." I answered Damien.

"Why is that?" Damien pestered to get an answer.

"I actually... don't know what course I will take. I honestly haven't found my purpose yet. Like what my destiny would be." I explained.

"Well.. people take different times to find out what they truly want. Perhaps try doing a little bit of soul searching to find out what you truly want. You'll get there soon." Damien encouraged me. "Although.." He turns to Matthew. "Is that decision really WHAT you want or is that what your parents want? I've heard that your family is full of doctors and inventors. Do you think that you are being pressured to do that?"

"Not at all really... I actually want to become a neurosurgeon. It's kind of your destiny being a Pona. You are to pursue a career that is going to bring honor to our family. Both my sister and I have that hammered to our heads all the time although I enjoy it, my sister, she-" He paused for a second from his explanation.

"Your sister what?" I asked him.

His look turned dark and he started to frown. "Well... I don't want to discuss anything about my sister. It's a bit personal actually." He explained putting up walls between us. I know he isn't trying to but I feel like he is not telling us something. Something that's important...

"We respect your decision, Matthew. Perhaps it's rude to speak about it if Matthew is not comfortable with it." Damien suggested, he then stands up, grabbing a cup. "If you two would excuse me. I would need to buy some water from the store outside. I'll be right back."

As he moved away... I can feel Matthew creeping closer to me. "Hey um? You need something?" I asked him.

He avoided eye contact and was looking in the ground as he fidgetted with his hands... does he want to tell me something? This just makes him look suspicious...

"Do you need anything?" I asked again with a higher volume.

"Can I ask you a favor?" He whispered to my ear. Looking around as to not let anyone hear.

"What is it?" I replied back.

"You see.. I want to-"

"HI BESTIE! DID YOU MISS ME!" My jaw dropped to hear THAT ANNOYING WHINING GIRLY VOICE. DON'T TELL ME... SHE'S HERE...

I turn around to see the bleached blonde baby herself, Camille staring close to my face. With a malicious smirk in her face before going back to her bubbly expression. THIS ISN'T GOING TO END WELL..
