73 Chapter 72: Simple Nostalgia

"They aren't real friends. Leave them." I spoke out my mind to her. Just hearing those things makes my blood boil. I can't believe people are this terrible. To treat someone really horribly like that is such an unacceptable thing.

"Wh.. wh.." The girl tried to respond but she was a bit of a loss for words. I mean who would blame her? Just from hearing those horrifying details of her torment just makes me feel uncomfortable, to say the least.

"Listen, I experienced the same as you." I put my hand over hers. "I always felt like I needed to satisfy other people's expectations of me. So I followed them relentlessly. I tried to be masculine and I tried to be the man, society wants me to be but I knew damn well that trying to be somebody I'm not! Every time I had that mask to keep up, I felt horrible about myself because I was keeping the one that I was truly inside! If you just let these people walk over you and control YOUR life you'll just be doing the same mistake I did!"

Tears started to fall like raindrops to my eyes. I guess.. talking about my problems... just made me really emotional. It reopened that trauma where I had to succumb to people's gender roles of me however I moved passed that now. I have to help this girl, she might not tell me that she doesn't need it but I know she does.

"Do you really want to be treated like that? You told me that you were burnt with cigarettes, made fun of by forcing you to impersonate animals, they threw darts at you and they can just punch you anytime they want! IS THAT REALLY THE LIFE YOU WANT!? TO BE TREATED EVEN POORLY THAN AN ANIMAL! TO BE STEPPED OVER BY PEOPLE! THOSE AREN'T FRIENDS, THOSE ARE MONSTERS!"

She... she remained silent, she frowned and hid behind her mask yet again. She knows I'm right. I know that she doesn't want to be treated poorly but... she just doesn't have that backbone... she just doesn't have that will to stand up for herself...

The door opens, creating a creaking sound. "I'm back! What happened here? Are you guys alright?" Nina opened the door, greeting us with a smile.

"I... um... I want to get out of the nurse's office... I'll have to go home now.. see you..." The girl stood up from her seat and rushes over to the door. Without even a goodbye or anything to both of us in the room.

"Oh..alright then good-" She was already gone before Nina can even finish her sentence. She then turns to me with a confused look in her face. "Um? What just happened here?"

"That girl... I think... she's being abused by people... being taken advantage of..." I told her what I thought about the situation. Although it's not really confirmed yet and I don't have the evidence, I mean for all I know she could just be making those things up but still... I don't think she'll be that type of person.

"What... what?! Really? How would you know that for sure?" Nina asked me, surprised about what I told her.

"Hm.. whether it's true or not. I guess the bad thing is that we can't really do anything about it. I mean she is clearly from a different university so I doubt Golden Crown University is going to be interested in helping her in any way since she's not really a student here."

"True... anyways, I might have to go now! Thank you so much Nina for helping me. I'll make sure to take care of myself from now and not get into fights." I giggled.

"Sure! You better promise me you little rascal! I better not see you bruised up and beaten up!" She pokes me in the head playfully, chuckling also with me. "By the way, tell Lisa to drop by here sometimes. I've never really seen her yet ever since I got drafted. Say hi to her for me okay?" Nina winked.

I nodded and got my stuff, plus a few pain killers from Nina in case the bruises hurt in the future. I decided to shrug up the whole ordeal and headed towards the library to where I think Lisa and Matthew still are. From what I know from those two, I doubt they would have switched locations. THEY BETTER BE STUDYING! That's right! We should really focus on studying.

Although in the back of my mind, I still can't help but wonder about that girl. What could have caused her that immense torture? What kinds of people are responsible for that? I'll never know... only someone with a sadistic mind could only understand...

POV: Lisa Manzona

"Uh...aren't we supposed to be studying!" I shouted at Matthew and Fred who seems to be getting a bit too friendly in front of my face. I mean like they are constantly talking with one another, totally breaking my focus on reading.

"Sorry... IT'S JUST SOMEONE HERE IS BEING REALLY ANNOYING!" Matthew passively aggressively, nudged to Fred which was beside him.

"Ugh... that is so boring.. geez... studying main subjects is such a pain. I honestly just want them to just teach us our course!" Fred ranted, stomping his feet on the floor like a little child.

"You should probably study for the exams FREDERICK. You know damn well that you can't just YOLO every test and expect to pass every time. Matthew scolds Fred who seems to be uninterested in his words.

"Meh... that's too boring..." He said, slouching over to the table.

BOY STOP TRYING TO DISTRACT ME. YES, IT'S BORING FOR YOU BUT BITCH I NEED TO STUDY! GO BE AN ANNOYING BITCH BOY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

"You never really change, don't you? Just because you passed the other quizzes without studying doesn't mean you should review at all you know!"

"Wait? Fred actually passed exams without studying?!" My eyes widen by the sudden thought. This guy is actually smart somehow?!

"Actually, to tell you the truth, Frederick is actually smarter than me. Not even kidding, he always seemed to nail exams without even studying for them. So back then at high school, he always just fooled around with girls but still end up with high grades. Although they aren't really as high as mine since he never really tried to be an honor or anything." Matthew explained to me.

"Oh really?! Damn! I didn't know Fred was actually smarter than you!" I exclaimed, I MEAN COME ON, MATTHEW LOOKS LIKE A TOTAL BRAINIAC LIKE HE INVENTS STUFF AND HE'S LIKE BIG BRAIN AND FRED LOOKS LIKE A FUCK BOY, COLLEGE DROPOUT. HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW THAT HE'S SMART.

"Yup! Totally right, although he might have over-exaggerated that a tad bit." Fred chuckled, stroking his hair gently in boredom.

"Why are you even here again? Aren't you suppose to be in the animal shelter today dog boy?" Matthew suddenly asks Fred a question.

OOH! A NICKNAME! Dog boy huh? Hmm...

"Oh that. Apparently the shelter has a bit of an infestation going on and they needed to take the dogs to a different place to remove the ticks and everything on the location. Well, at least that's what they told me. So I really got nothing to do today..." He sighed.

Oh ya! From what I remember, Matthew told me that Fred volunteers himself to the animal shelters near here when classes aren't happening. Apparently it's what he does other than flirting with girls. That's actually kind of cute not gonna lie.

"Oh... that's why you're here." Matthew realized it and then proceeds to return back to his reading.

"By the way, Matthew mentioned to me that you wanted to be a veterinarian is that true?" I started to get a bit curious and asked Fred about it.

"Yup. I've seen so many animals suffering without a home. I always had that soft spot for animals so I want to help them." He chuckled, brushing his hair softly,

"Remember that time when we found those kitties in the boxes when were heading back from school. You wanted to keep them don't you!" Matthew nudged him playfully.

"Yup. They were so cute and I wanted to keep them but my mother never really let me have them. That's why I wanted to get pussy if you know what I mean." He gave us a naughty smirk.

GEEZ IF YOU WEREN'T SO PERVERTED AND FOXY. I'D PROBABLY CONSIDER YOU TO BE A SERIOUS PERSON.

As we continued to talk with one another, we suddenly hear footsteps coming closer to us. We raised our heads up and focused our direction to the door and there we saw him... Damien.. he.. he's back..
