82 Chapter 81: A Bit Too Forward

"Who are you talking over there? You seem to be a bit busy aren't you?" His eyes darken with a sudden shadow lingering around his forehead.

"Oh! You scared me, I was just texting my friends that's all." I responded to him, giving him a soft smile. His eyes wandered around before looking at me directly in the eye with a glare.

I... did I hurt him or anything? I don't really know what's happening but he's suddenly just looking at me like a bag in a black Friday handbag sale.

His cold demeanor finally started to melt away, revealing a pleasant smile. He then sat down to the chair next to me and got comfy on the seat as he carefully dragged the plates to his side. "Mind telling me about your friends? They seem to be quite the charmer aren't they?"

"Oh, they are, although they are a bit crazy from time to time," I answered him, taking a sip from my cappuccino.

"I heard that you're returning to Golden Crown University right? After these exams are over." He raised his eyebrow, taking a bit out of his pie.

"Actually yes, I am. You see, I wasn't really supposed to be in this school in the first place but I was forced to transfer for some unknown and unspecified reasons but the Dean did inform me that it was something important so I never really had any choice."

His face was left with a hint of skepticism. "From what I remember correctly, Golden Crown University is for men only. How are you able to attend an all-boys university exactly?"

Darn, I guess it kinda makes sense that he would be curious. I mean like if they let a girl in an all-boys school then it wouldn't really be an all-boys school. However, I don't think I'm supposed to tell him about it. I was told to keep it a secret and I'm kind of a woman of my word.

"Oh. I'm sorry but I can't really tell you the reason although it's for an experiment my mother signed me into. Which was something that I did not approve of by the way! She was quite the cheeky bugger." I chuckled, doing a little British accent.

OH MY GOD. Why am I talking like those British people I see on T.V. He smiles after I say that. "Oh, your mother is very mischievous? How about your father? What was he like?"

"I. Don't have a dad." I didn't hesitate to answer this question. "Actually I have two mothers looking after me and my uncle as the male role model in my life." Back then I would just pretend that my uncle is my father because every time I told anyone that I had two mothers, they would immediately torment me. Coupled with the fact that I act tomboyish, they would treat me like total trash but now, I've finally grown confident over this.

"Oh." He paused for a moment, I already braced myself from the comments and those hurtful words. I closed my eyes tensing up my jaw.

"Hey? Are you okay? Why are you acting all giddy all of a sudden?" He suddenly flicks me by the nose. Getting me out of the little episode I had.

"I.. you.. you don't think it's weird or anything or like you don't hate me for having two moms?" I spoke in a breathy voice.

"Huh? I'm shocked that you have two moms but I don't think I'll hate you just for having that." He chuckled. "You know many children grow up without a mother or a father with them. Nobody ever took care of them. Honestly, it's lucky that you have parents at all. Also, I don't really think it's something to be worried about. I don't really care if you have a nuclear family or you have something different." He explained to me calmly, lifting all the frustrations and all the bad memories away. Somehow this just made me feel very comfortable. It's like I was breathing air again.

"Oh! That's really great! Honestly, I was bullied so much as a kid. People often gave me shit for having two moms because it's against their religious beliefs. It was always supposed to be a father and a mother for them."

He brushed his hair, adjusting the way he sat into something more relaxed. "You shouldn't really care about them. I mean like if the child is doing good. Who cares about the parents anyway? I mean like, I would rather have a healthy gay couple taking care of me instead of a dysfunctional straight couple. Wouldn't you agree?"

He.. actually gets me. He really does! He's really openminded about things and I actually like that about him!

"Ya! By the way, thanks for treating me out to some desserts. I kinda needed a reward of some sort after our exams!" I chuckled, taking a spoonful of my cheesecake. Savoring its creamy taste in the mouth. It's so heavenly!

"You're welcome. Anyways, I would still like to see you even if you transferred back if that's okay with you. Are you going to transfer after the festival or before it?" He inched his face closer to me.

"Sadly, I might have to transfer before the festival. Although don't worry, I'll still be able to visit the festival here in Rose Berry University." I take another bite from my cheesecake.

His face turned suddenly annoyed for a second before reverting back to the smile. "Oh.. I see.. by the way, how do your two moms treat you and you mentioned an uncle right? What are they like?" He looks at me with eyes beaming with curiosity

"I call my moms, mom, and momma. My mom is kind of like the girl next door type. She's mostly the logical one in the pair, she's also quite outspoken and brutally honest. She was even the one that signed me up in this mess, to begin with, while momma is the caring and sweet mother. She was like the typical grandmother, the one who did the cooking and cleaning although she can be quite the breadwinner. I love them both so much even if they both kind of annoy me since they are a bit nosy with my life." I giggled.

"Of course, they are your parents. They'd be caring of you." He smiled. "I wish I felt that way..."

Wait ... what's that last part about, he wished that he felt that way? Don't tell me that he doesn't have any parents or something? Although I'm a bit afraid to ask since it's not my business at all asking.

"Yup they are! My uncle is also caring too. He was a war veteran but he's mostly staying at his home working for an office job. He's actually quite the active guy. We would go on fishing trips and camping trips together since he always liked looking at nature. That's why I learned to appreciate it." I told him more about my family.

Although there are thirsty girls coming after him and his big muscles. *COUGH* ROSE *COUGH* Camille *COUGH*. The type of women he attracts is literally trash... No offense to Rose but it's true. This is kinda annoying since when something doesn't go their way, those two bitches take it out on me.

"You must have such a loving family, don't you? I do hope that you're friends are as loving as that." He muttered out with a smile.

"Huh? What do you mean?" I paused for a moment, taking a sip from my cappuccino as I maintained eye contact with him.

"I mean like, remember when we came to the Kitty Cafe? None of your friends even bothered showing up to help you or support you. Are they really good friends? I mean like if you're my friend I would still make the effort to see you." He voiced out his opinion.

"That is kind of true though but they did have a good reason for not coming. I mean not every time you're friend is going to have time. Sometimes you need space, right?" I spoke nonchalantly.

"Seems like you're not even bothered by what they did to you." His voice suddenly deepens, turning somewhat threatening.

"Not really. I'm not bothered by it. Even if Matthew and Fred weren't able to attend that time I still like them. I mean they were busy working on an animal shelter so I guess that's explainable." I explained it to him.

He suddenly stood up from his seat. "By the way, I'm sorry, I might have to go now! Thank you for the conversation. See you later." He blurted it out of the blue. Catching me off guard.

Without even realizing it, I'm left in the cafe alone. Well.. that just happened..
