Chapter 17：Am I Envious?

Ji Xiaonian suddenly pulled away from Lu Yifei. While eyeing him, she hesitantly asked, "Do you have somebody you like? As someone of your status, I bet that the man you like is pretty amazing, huh?

In her mind, Ji Xiaonian was certain that Lu Yifei's man was amazing!

She was also curious as to who Lu Yifei's boyfriend was.

'The love between two men should be the same as the love between a man and a woman, right?'

'Plus, it's a nice coincidence that we both like men.'

Whenever Ji Xiaonian remembered that Lu Yifei was gay, she would grow curious about his boyfriend's identity. The thought of two extremely handsome men being together had made Ji Xiaonian jealous and excited at the same time, to the extent that she was willing to forget her recent hardship in the blink of an eye.

Ji Xiaonian excitedly clung to Lu Yifei, and she was waiting with much enthusiasm for him to tell her everything.

Upon noticing the eager look on her face, Lu Yifei began to have second thoughts about praising her. After all, the little girl had been bawling her heart out earlier and was in an abysmal state, but the instant he mentioned the man he liked, the ominous clouds hanging over her little face had instantly been blown away.

"You really want to know the identity of my boyfriend?"

Lu Yifei naturally placed his arm on Ji Xiaonian's shoulder and led her forward.

Ji Xiaonian eagerly nodded. "Yep! Yep! I'm extremely curious! Hurry up and tell me! Is he handsome too? Also, how do you guys do 'it' together? Who's the top and who's the bottom?"

"…"

Never had Lu Yifei imagined that a growing child like her would ask such a sensitive question.

However, he did not shy away from her question and truthfully answered, "Of course he's handsome. Plus, he's also an outstanding man. With these qualities, it only makes sense that he's a dominant top."

"Awawawa… Gosh, I'm so embarrassed."

Ji Xiaonian covered her flustered face apologetically. In an embarrassed tone, she continued, "But I like to listen to stories about you and your boyfriend. So, hurry up and tell me, when will you finally introduce me to him?"

"That'll depend on when he has the time!"

"It's a promise, then."

"Yep."

"God dang, Yifei, I like you even more now. Say, can you tell me how you two met?'

"…" Lu Yifei cast a sidelong glance at the little girl by his side. The girl smiled brilliantly, and there was not a trace of her prior sadness to be found. As such, without holding back anything, he began to narrate his story while walking forward.

With that, the two then left while chatting and laughing. Unbeknownst to them, there were a pair of eyes trained directly on the duo in a spot not too far away.

Even after the two had disappeared from sight, the pair of eyes remained fixed in their direction.

For some reason, there was a sour feeling stinging the observer's chest, as if he had swallowed a fly. It was a horrible sensation.

"Professor Bai, what are you doing here?"

A female's voice rang out from beside him.

Bai Yan retracted his gaze. After taking a glance at Miaoling, he then emotionlessly answered, "Nothing much. Let's go, I'll take you fishing."

"Sounds good to me."

Fang Miaoling did not think too much about Bai Yan's actions as she hurriedly followed behind him.

In the afternoon.

A BBQ feast was prepared in the mountain villa, and it was held on an open field.

Bai Yan had returned alongside Fang Miaoling by lunchtime. However, when he noticed that Ji Chen was the only one there, Bai Yan asked in a puzzled tone, "Where is she?"

Ji Chen was reclining leisurely on his deck chair when he took a glance at Fang Miaoling and snorted. "Are you talking about Xiaonian? Well, since she just obtained a boyfriend, it's only natural they would go somewhere out of reach and chat however they want. Just take yourself as an example, didn't you bring your student to somewhere unreachable and do who-knows-what as well?"

In his eyes, Bai Yan's sudden personality shift was so great that he could hardly recognize him anymore.

'Since Xiaonian has no place in your heart, and since you've rejected all females in the past just for the female beside you, why would you need to care about Xiaonian?'

As such, when faced with the changed Bai Yan before him, Ji Chen had treated him rather impolitely. Moreover, one might even say that he had gone overboard.

"Mister, please do not spew nonsense. My relationship with Professor Bai is untainted."

Since Fang Miaoling was unaware of who Ji Chen was, she quickly defended Bai Yan upon hearing his rude tone.

Ji Chen snorted, and his expression turned cold. "Since when was an outsider qualified to interrupt my speech?"

Fang Miaoling turned to look at Bai Yan with a wronged expression upon hearing those words.

At that moment, Bai Yan was wearing a hideous expression. Although it was not due to Ji Chen yelling at Fang Miaoling, he still needed to vent the rage within his chest somewhere.

Fortunately for Bai Yan, Ji Chen had fit the bill nicely.

"Watch your words. Also, how does my business with my student relate to you?"

"You…"

Ji Chen was rendered speechless as he stared at the man before him in shock. After all, this was the very first time Bai Yan had taken such a tone with him over an outsider.

Anger and rage began to swell in his heart.

Bai Yan was uncomfortable as well. Aware that he was no longer able to share a proper meal with Ji Chen and the others, he then stood up and told Miaoling, "I have something else to do and need to leave early. Let's go, I'll take you back to school."

Fang Miaoling rapidly stood up and hurriedly followed behind Bai Yan.

The moment the two left, Ji Chen immediately exploded with fury.

He pushed away all the food on the table and spilled all the red wine onto the ground. Despite that, the frustration in his heart had only grown as he raised his head and howled, "ARGHHHHH…"

Bai Yan had originally planned to take Fang Miaoling and leave. However, upon getting into his ride, he spotted Ji Xiaonian clinging onto Lu Yifei's arm as they headed towards the lunch spot. Seeing the scene instantly soured Bai Yan's mood even further.

Moments after getting seated, Bai Yan immediately started the engine and sped away.

While sitting in the passenger seat, Fang Miaoling noticed that Professor Bai's expression remained ominous throughout the day. It was especially terrifying.

However, she still curiously asked, "Umm… Professor Bai."

"Speak."

Bai Yan did not even spare her a glance as he gave the curt reply.

Worried that she would anger him even further, Fang Miaoling lowered her head and timidly asked, "Umm… W-Why did you bring me out today?"

There was no way she would believe that a young, successful, and dashing man like him would fall for a poor student like herself.

However, she still could not figure out the reason for inviting her out.

Although he was still troubled, the man answered in a crisp, but plain tone. "I'm missing a sister back at home. If you don't mind, do you want to be my sister? I'll give you whatever you want, be it a house, a car, a job, or money. Whatever you want, just say it and it'll be yours."

For some reason, when Bai Yan spoke those words, his mind had wandered off to that little brat.

'She really is a little devil, isn't she. One moment she says she likes me and wants to be together with me, and the next moment she's already fallen for someone else.'

The more he thought about it, the heavier Bai Yan's chest felt. It was so heavy that he could hardly breathe.

'What's happening to me?! Am I jealous?'

'What a joke! Why would I be envious over that little brat?'
