22 Preparations

Alyx was able to easily leave the nursery of newborn Aragons (short form of Artificial Dragons) as they were not kept under strict surveillance and the only one responsible for keeping a watch on them would occasionally leave his post. During this small window Alyx entered the underground tunnel system and returned to his residence. He reverted to his original appearance and laid down on his bed as he was mentally exhausted.

Alyx can easily deduce that the attack on Lizardmen is being commanded by Mordos by looking at the strict hierarchy in the colony. Even with his orders the attacks were not fierce as many of the Aragons don't care about what happens to their offspring and just pretend to do work. But there are some who choose to hunt Lizardmen due to their arrogance or just for fun and this fuels the grudges of the Lizardmen who lost their family members mainly the tribe leaders. Many of the common Lizardmen have no choice but to join the war for protecting their family. There is no benefit in fighting for Lizardmen and are only retaliating due to anger and unwillingness to wait for their end. The earlier attacks by both sides were for resources but now there was no reason for them to continue this conflict. Mordos has his arrogance and won't agree to a deal and Lizardmen will give their life away for the grudges of the tribe leaders. The lizardmen feel proud that they have killed a Dragon even if it is an infant but they would be unable to compete with the adult Dragons without suffering huge losses in the process.

This war if happens is going to be bloody with mutual destruction of both sides.

After having a better understanding of the situation from the point of view of both sides Alyx chose the best way that Ax has come up with even if the chances of it succeeding are very low. They came up with many solutions but due to lacks of power even if he appears in his true form they would not listen to his words as they only respect and worship the strong. It's a primitive society and they won't follow any rules unless they are enforced through extreme force otherwise they would just forget it after a few generations.

Time flew by and the preparation for war on the Lizardmen's side have reached their end. Goro became very busy in recent months equipping his tribe with weapons and training them in different formations to attack Aragons.

Most of the weapons were crude and dull. They would only do little damage against the tough scales of Aragons but this is the best he can do with the limited resources available to them. It is still better than going without weapons. Although their claws and teeth were powerful but fighting at close range is suicidal.

He knows that once the war starts many battles will devolve into swarm attack at close range but he can only hope that the casualties will be minimized somewhat due to the weapons. There is a good chance that a medium sized tribe like theirs would be used as a cannon fodder and end up completely destroyed.

"I'll never let them use us as they please." Goro doesn't like this reckless attack on Aragons. Even though the proponents of war gained support of others claiming that they have a way to prevent Aragons from taking flight it is still going to be a pyrrhic victory at best case scenario and total annihilation is a very real possibility. Goro can only sigh at his helpnessness.

Blag has never once given up on his attempts to prevent war. He went to other tribes based on the information he got from Goro for Alyx and tried to convince them but he was only met with scorn and ridicule. Soon other tribe leaders knew of him and didn't even let him talk to them.

Some even tried to kill him while he was returning from those places in secluded regions but he was able to escape due to his capabilities as a hunter. As the preparations for war are progressing he became more restless and desperate and even gave up on his hunting duty. The Aragons have also seem to notice the strange movement of Lizardmen and started their own preparations. Recently the Aragons decreased their surveillance around the Great Lake as if in anticipation of the coming war so he can trust his squad to be safe and handle themselves during their hunts.

He approached many tribes in neutral faction hoping they would be able to join together with peace faction and put an end to this mad plan but even they seem to be siding with the war faction after learning that they have a method remove Aragon's flight advantage.

Alyx during these recent months was diving in his travel pod in the Great Lake looking for the thing which is going to help it end this war. The lake is not actually a lake like those on earth. To get a better understanding if compared to water bodies on earth it is bigger than the pacific ocean with an area around 200 million sqkm. But it is just a small lake on MBN with little value that it is ignored by the powerful creatures on MBN. Yes, Aragons might be a powerful species but they are not the most powerful creatures on MBN. There are few creatures which are very powerful but unable to reproduce so they can't be classified as a species.

Alyx is searching for one such creature which inhabits the Great Lake for his plan to succeed. There are many species in the Lake which pose a threat to Aragons, as they can't swim, that they don't dare to come near the center of the lake. But even they are just food to the one Alyx is searching for. It can be called the true ruler of Q10.
