For them there was nothing. There was no sound to be heard. There was no object to feel. There was no sight to be seen. Just nothing.
They were just there. Alive but not truly alive. Not capable of any movement. Their skin was pale as snow. Their heat having stopped moving a long time ago. But they were alive. At least they hoped they were.
Then there was a light. The first thing they had seen for tens of thousands of years. They could feel that the seals that had restrained them were losing their power. Until they were gone. With the seals destroyed, their memories clouded into their brains, causing them earthshaking pain. Ignoring it they look forward.
Emerging from the light, they could vaguely make out a person. And then nothing as they lost consciousness.
