The temperature in the late night of Lin City was close to zero.

Chi Enen was jolted awake due to the chilly weather.

By the time she woke up, she realized that she was lying beside the road, her cell phone and bag were strewn all over the ground.

Fortunately, there was no one on the side of the road, otherwise she could not believe what would have become of her.

Chi Enen got up and looked around.

It was in a suburban district. There were no cars at all.

Needless to say, Li Beijue must have ordered someone to leave her there.

She walked for some time before she managed to hail a taxi.

It was impossible to afford a house in Lin City with that meager income. It was Lin Anxin who helped her to find a two-bedroom and one living room rented house for her.

The taxi stopped at the outdated district where her rented house was. Chi Enen paid the fare and went upstairs.

She searched for the key and opened the door.

She had just entered the house when her cell phone rang.

She closed the door and pulled the cell phone out of her bag. She took one glance and saw that it was Lin Anxin who was on the phone. Chi Enen rubbed her throbbing head and answered the call.

“Hello?”

“Chi Enen! Where were you last night? I wanted you to take a Uniqlo video. Don’t tell me you really had a one night stand with a man?” Lin Anxin might have said those harsh words but she sounded anxious.

What happened last night gradually came back to her. Chi Enen had a splitting headache. She remembered that she had just returned from overseas and she went to the bar with Anxin. They played finger-guessing game and she had too much to drink. Anxin insisted that she and a man take the Uniqlo video. She had too much to drink as well and went over the top, therefore she agreed after her constant urging and bumped into that man.

How could she have bump into Li Beijue under such situation? How could she really help that man masturbate?!

How did she get back last night? Given Li Beijue’s nasty temper, it was a surprise that he did not kill her.

Chi Enen’s temple kept throbbing. She lay on the sofa full of frustration. She poured herself a glass of water, feeling better after gulping it down.

“I am asking you a question.” Lin Anxin felt very anxious on the other end of the phone.

Chi Enen rubbed her temple. She felt as if she was drained of all her energy last night. She felt weak all over. But Lin Anxin was anxious to get an answer. She had no choice but to answer her in a weak voice. “No, I met someone I knew and I am now back at home.”

“You just returned from overseas. Who can you run into?”

“Baby Chi’s father.”

“What!” The loud shout at the other end of the phone almost shattered her eardrum.

Chi Enen dug her ears. She could imagine that Lin Anxin must have jumped up in shock.

“Are you sure it’s that man?”

Lin Anxin knew that Chi Enen had a boyfriend when she was in high school. But then Enen suddenly went oversea for unknown reasons. She gave birth to a child named Baby Chi during the second year. His formal name was Chi Enen. He now lived overseas and was being taken care of by an elderly couple. She kept asking Enen for a long time before she told him that the baby was the child of that man.

“Yes.”

“So what happened after bumping into him? Did you tell him about the baby?”

“I gave birth to the child and I brought him up. Why do I have to tell him?” Chi Enen paused briefly before saying, “If he knew about it, I would definitely not be given custody of the child.”
