595 Missing You 3

Much to Shen Yi's surprise, the twins' behavior returned to normal the next day which was the first day of his wife's absence. He knew that they were trying their best not to cry, especially Little Yuyan who hadn't uttered a single word since she woke up that morning.

The night before was disastrous for Shen Yi as he came home after dropping Lu Xinyi at the airport and found the twins wailing nonstop at home. Neither he nor Shen Xue was able to make them stop, and it took him three long hours before they fell asleep from crying.

"Daddy?" Shen Zichen appeared in his study in the middle of his work.

"What is it, Zichen?" Shen Yi asked calmly, glancing over his files and at the boy standing in the doorway.

"You aren't leaving for work, Daddy?"

By this time, Shen Zichen knew that his father should have left for work; and yet he was still in his home clothes, burying his head on his work alone in his study.

"Mommy did say I'll be staying with you, didn't she? I won't be going away for business trips anytime soon." Shen Yi reminded the boy.

"Oh…" The little boy paused as he pondered if he should ask his father. "Then, can we sleep in your room tonight?"

"If you wish. Go and tell your sister you'll be staying in our room until Mommy comes back."

When the little boy had left the room, Shen Yi sighed softly. He found himself sighing a lot since Lu Xinyi left. If he was missing his wife, what more the twins?

One month. He only got one month to remove all existing threats against him and his wife. This would be the perfect time for him and Li Yuren to find Feng Zexian's whereabouts.

The news of the death of Chairman Sun was soon publicized. The stocks of the Sun Corporation instantly crashed down. Everyone guessed that the company was about to sink as Lu Xinyi gave the deadly blow when she sold all of her shares to the elusive young master of the Ye family.

The Ye family was once part of the big 5 families of the capital and was comparable to the Tang's. Yet twenty years ago, their company came crashing down because of the Sun family's underhanded tricks.

Lu Xinyi was initially surprised when her husband explained to her about Ye Xingjie's offer of cooperation to their plan.

Sun Feiyan stayed at the company, dealing with the workload Lu Xinyi left for her to finish. Even though her heart was bothered by Ye Xingjie's betrayal and deception. She chose to turn a blind eye on her personal affairs.

She finally got what she'd wanted. Chairman Sun was dead, and the company he cherished the most would disappear with his passing. In the aftermath of his death, the Sun family lost everything because of Lu Xinyi.

"Feiyan, it's already late. Shouldn't we go home now?" Chen Anqi stepped inside her mistress's office and found Sun Feiyan smoking while enjoying the view outside her window.

"Lu Xinyi is quite ruthless, but Ye Xingjie's way was crueler," Sun Feiyan said in a cold tone. Lu Xinyi had confronted her before leaving the company building and had told her not to drag her to her schemes anymore.She only dirtied her hand by crushing the Sun family… which Sun Feiyan had always wanted from the start.

However, what Sun Feiyan hadn't expected was Ye Xingjie's involvement in this well-made conspiracy of her cousin. In the end, Ye Xingjie only sought her to get his own revenge on her family.

Home? What home? Sun Feiyan didn't have a home to be called her own; and the concept of family had been long ruined by her own family.

All the estate in Chairman Sun's name, including the properties he gained over the years, was to be divided into his three remaining kin.

Because of what Lu Xinyi had done to the company, she together with Sun Feiyan and Sun Mingai wouldn't receive anything from Sun Corporation. The majority of real estate holding would be split into three with Sun Mingai inheriting the whole Sun Estate while Lu Xinyi would get money from the trust.

Aside from it, she was supposed to inherit all the shares the old man had. Such a decision only strengthened everyone's beliefs that Lu Xinyi would have been the head of the Sun family. Little did they know that Lu Xinyi didn't want the title one bit and only wanted to see the family business in shambles.

What a good way to seek revenge and make everyone helpless and live a living hell without the wealth that caused the death of her mother.

They hadn't had any objection to the distribution of assets and properties. Perhaps Lu Xinyi's absence was her way to say goodbye to the old man and let all the resentments that she carried for so long to be buried with him.

However, Sun Feiyan didn't feel even the slightest bit of relief. The event had only left turmoil in her heart. Ye Xingjie had left her, and she had no courage to ask or confront him over the matter.

The days passed quickly and uneventfully, and Shen Yi was relieved that nothing had happened. He had spent a long time worrying about his wife, but his peaceful days came to an end when he fetched the twins at the school with Qiao He.

The school administration had called Qiao He and informed them that Shen Zichen wasn't feeling well that day. Shen Yi easily held the sick boy on one arm while Little Yuyan was skipping her steps beside him.

"I've already called Zhao Xi." Qiao He told him once they arrived back at Imperial Residences.

Zhao Xi was a volunteer and self-proclaimed resident doctor of the Shen family aside from Shen Yi's mother. She was assigned to look after the wellbeing of Lu Xinyi and the twins, which she willingly agreed to.

Shen Yi was feeling helpless at the moment. When he found himself faced with an ill child, he had no idea how to proceed. Usually, it was his wife who took care of the twins whenever they got sick.
