Chapter 102 - I Don't Understand (part 2)

NOW IT'S EDITED, THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

The two ended up meeting in one of the fields of duels that had in the capital, this was a private place and for those who want challenges in battle.

Nehand is an omega variant woman with a powerful and strong body, in addition to a scary mental power, if she had signed up for the army she would already have the rank of Military General, even though she was only 23 years old at the time.

Yet how would her loving family allow in such dark times of war their precious daughter to join the army?

So, she was always going to this kind of place to challenge herself and refine her mental powers and prove her physical strength.

Ehione as Crown Prince had almost no freedom, with his mother dead and being raised by his aunt, his father's sister, he had to face the court of experienced nobles and the remaining concubines of the palace.

He at 25 years old already considered himself with a heart of stone and looking very skeptical about a lot of things, of course, he had a little arrogance in his heart that he was one of the strongest Diablo zergs, with the exception of his own father and his uncle who was Major at the time1.

Of course, he knew he needed more combat experience, as even with so much power without experience he would be easily defeated by soldiers with real combat experience.

Thus, Ehione also ended up in this field of secret challenges, with his life at risk and as here were the common people there was no way for them to know that Ehione was the crown prince.

Ehione and Nehand's lives crossed that field of challenge, they didn't imagine their world would change drastically that day.

Nehand had used his morph abilities and adopted the name Nadira, escaping his servants and guards at Duke Achebe's mansion. She was already used to using the escape tunnels to literally escape the mansion.

She did her usual routine eating at a small cultural restaurant near Avenida Pretoria square, the open market didn't yet exist given the war situation and the distrust of letting mixed races enter the capital, it didn't allow things like open markets or even cultural fairs to happen for fear of possible terrorist attacks.

Nehand after eating went to the nearby stores, she always bought souvenirs for her younger brothers, they were five brothers, she was the third daughter, having an older sister and an older brother, with two little twin brothers.

Nehand's older sister decided not to marry and went to work for the Institute of Research and Technology in the capital. Her older brother was going to be the new Duke Achebe, so he was dealing with the duchy at the moment, as their father was out in one of the many battles the Diablo Empire faced.

After buying some toys and putting them in her space item, she discreetly wearing a hood to hide her presence and her beautiful young appearance, Nehand walked into a dark and silent alley.

She walked to the side of the alley and hit a supposed wall, she hit it three times making a different sound with each hit, then the wall opened and a tall zerg man appeared.

He wore red glasses that allowed him to scan visitors to see if they were carrying bombs, weapons, or any dangerous item, in times of war prevention was the norm, no one wanted to end up in the newspapers as victims of a terrorist attack.

At that space items weren't common, only the nobles and the military had them, yet it wasn't all the nobles, only the nobles who had deep ties to the military.

Nehand and his older brothers had space items because of their father, he had given them to them in case they needed to escape and could take the important things from the mansion, in addition, to supplying themselves with weapons, food, and daily necessities in advance in case of bombing in the capital.

Security foolishly investigated Nehand, luckily she wasn't a terrorist. She passed through security and went directly to the stairs, descending a few flights of stairs until she found two more security guards who inspected her before swiping cards on the reinforced doors.

There were several entrances to this underground camp, the alley entrance being one of them. There was no elevator in the place for obvious reasons in case of attacks the first thing that stops working are the elevators, so the stairs are preferable for moments of escape.

When the doors opened Nehand heard the deafening roar of cheering and screams of rage, before his eyes lilac irises like jasmines, the crowded stands appeared, there were three stages with fighters fighting for their lives (money) and three screens floating in the air in that back then it was still plasma screens with anti-gravity operators that made televisions stay on the air.

Above the bleachers was the aisle of food, weapons, clothing, and shields stores, in the aisle from right to left was the Betting Center, and next to it was the inscriptions for challengers.

She went to the registration desk, there was a small line of ten people, it was very small compared to the line of bets. She got in line obediently, she watched the betting screen glowing with the names she already knew.

These people were her commoner friends, they always met after battles to drink and boast of their fights, these were fun and precious moments for Nehand.

Ehione was the eleventh person to stand in line, he looked at the betting screen and the entry screen. On the screen of the entrants, there was a recording of their points and previous victories if they were veterans of the house.

There were the three kings of underground battles, Ehione was surprised that the first king was an omega woman, a beautiful woman who was similar to the beautiful spring flowers with her lilac hair and similarly colored eyes, the soft, delicate brown skin, the full lips and which stretched into a warm smile.

The first king, in the case of the first queen, didn't seem anything fierce, but a beautiful bright young woman who was out of step with the whole furious environment of the struggle for life.

"This wasn't the right place" Ehione muttered a little disappointed, which caught the attention of Nehand standing in front of him.

"Are you in the wrong place? Where you want to go? I know a little around here and I can tell you the right direction." Nehand turned and spoke to the man who had a deep, pleasant voice.

Ehione looked at the screen and saw the figure of the first queen of underground battles. He took his eyes off the screen and looked at the woman who was talking to him. For a moment, the zerg crown prince thought he was having illusions, as the woman in front of him was the same woman on the screen.

Worse, she was even prettier than the image she presented on the big screen, her warm, solicitous eyes and friendly smile made Ehione's stony heart quiver a little.

"Is this the most dangerous underground battle site in the capital?" Ehione ended up asking something, as his mind blanked a little because of the surprise of meeting the first queen of the underground.

"You're in the wrong place anyway. This is the underground fighting district for money, the underground battle district that bets with your life are close to the walls of the capital going west." Nehand said looking at the man's face.

The man had beautiful almond eyes with irises red like magma stones, short white hair curly like an angel against his ebony skin, lips thick and the color of tempting cherries. The strong chin and aquiline nose along with the bushy eyebrows made the face look a little rough, yet attractive.

Nehand knew that this person belonged to the imperial family only by the snow-white hair and red irises, and the ebony skin is a shade darker than she had ever seen in a zerg diablo.

She just didn't know which bloodline she belonged to, whether it was Major Azikiwe's or Princess Azikiwe's bloodline, Nehand wouldn't even in her wildest dreams think that this man would belong to Emperor Kayin's bloodline, much less than that person could be the crown prince.

There was no possibility that such a vital and important person could be in such a dangerous place as underground battles, even if this place was not death, at the very least there was the risk of being incapacitated for life.

The crown prince who would lead the Diablo Empire into the bright future couldn't risk his neck here, right?

Ehione was surprised by the information, he didn't imagine that there was more than one place like this in the capital. He would have to inform his aunt and they would have to sweep this kind of dangerous place out of the capital.

"But I advise you to stay here, for now, you seem like a novice to me. Experiencing this underground battle is better than risking your life on the other right now, especially when you don't seem to know anything about it."

Nehand spoke informally to Ehione, they were together with the commoners and it would be strange for her to use formal language with the other part. She was pretending not to know that this person belonged to the imperial family.

Of course, it was not uncommon for people to dye their hair white as the white hair color represented the highest nobility, commoners liked to play and feel a bit like their rulers.

So there were here and there with white-haired people, but the red irises, even with contact lenses could not compare to the real red irises of the imperial family.

Ehione was a little disconcerted by Nehand's informal treatment and ended up speaking rudely:

"Here doesn't seem like a place of forts, after all, an omega woman is the queen of this place..." Ehione spoke suddenly, only to stop surprised at the nonsense he said.
