As time passed, the Primogenitor Devil mountain remained relatively uneventful. The black fog remained wrapped around the mountain, and it was always desolate–only several dozens expert cultivated here. The remaining were all puppet, who were there just to serve their masters, and the mountain protectors.
On the peak of the mountain outside a cavern-dwelling.
Xue Ying was seated there flipping through a golden book. This book was made of a particular type of metal with characters inscribed on it. Those characters were of a specific language, and even though Xue Ying did not understand the characters, the characters were able to transmit a vast amount of information into his mind. Over the years, he had already memorized everything within this book. Nevertheless, Xue Ying still brought this book to his cavern-dwelling and flipped through it frequently.
There were many precious books within the Primogenitor Devil Mountain, and he could bring them to his cavern-dwelling for reading. Nonetheless, he was forbidden from carrying them out of the Primogenitor Devil Mountain!
“This senior from another race has reached a level of understanding in the aspect of ripples that I could only aspire to reach. If he were the stars in the sky, then I am merely a mortal staring up into the sky.” Every time Xue Ying flipped through the book, he could not help but feel admiration towards the writer. These were precious books left behind by the primogenitor, and the one Xue Ying was reading, only a single copy existed here. Furthermore, the front section and large portions of the back section were missing. Xue Ying did not even know what this book was titled, though he understood that it was someone called ‘Heaven Ripple Island Master’ who had written this book.
“If not for these books, it would be much harder for me to create my absolute art.” Xue Ying shook his head.
He was filled with ambition.
A very lofty ambition.
Just like Heavenly Emperor of Great Destruction who had created his own absolute art based on the lower half of the”Blood Demon Scripture”, Xue Ying had previously created his own ‘Slaughter Domain’ by referring to the original version from the Cosmos Emissary cultivation system. He then fused the Dao of Slaughter and Dao of Ripple together to create his own version.
These were created according to the ideology of the seniors.
And because the ‘Dao of Ripple’ and ‘Dao of Slaughter’ were extremely appropriate for combat, Xue Ying had wanted to create an absolute art meant for combat by combining these two Daos! The ‘Slaughter Domain’ tended towards the aspect of domains. What Xue Ying required was an absolute art that was appropriate for his spear techniques!
However, there were no similar books, because no seniors had ever done this before! Or, it may have been done before, but he could not find them amongst the books in the Primogenitor Devil Mountain. After all, it was too difficult to search for something as specific as a combat-inclined absolute art that utilized both the Dao of Slaughter and Dao of Ripple.
Since he had no references to use, the way ahead was unclear. How should he proceed?
Xue Ying had to create it himself. It required his understanding of the slaughter and ripple to reach an even more profound and broader stage. Fortunately, he was in the Primogenitor Devil Mountain, which had a significant amount of precious books for him to peruse. It broadened his perspective and opened his eyes to the many possibilities in cultivation.
The nourishment from different books built his foundation for the Dao of Slaughter and Dao of Ripple. Along with his cultivation within the Primogenitor Devil Mountain cavern dwelling, his efficiency had reached the pinnacle. With his talented comprehension ability, he had finally created the first volume of his absolute art, “Wind Ripple Path”. The reason why it was just the first volume, was that both his Daos had yet to reach eternity. According to his thinking, this absolute art could continuously be improved in the future.
Despite it just being a single volume, Xue Ying had put all his effort into it! And he could rely on this to fight against Rulers!
“Hu.”
A puppet girl walked over from a distance. Her figure flashed a few times before appearing close to where Xue Ying was.
“Paragon Dong Bo.” The puppet girl respectfully greeted. “I came according to the orders of my master, Paragon Lie Yang, to inform Paragon Dong Bo that your challenge will be carried out tomorrow.”
“Paragon Lie Yang?” Xue Ying’s expression brightened. “Finally! It has been six million years, and Paragon Lie Yang has finally ended his closed-door cultivation.”
“Good. Then we will battle tomorrow.” Xue Ying revealed a grin.
The puppet girl politely bowed before leaving.
Xue Ying stood up and watched as the puppet girl left. His eyes were filled with expectations. “Letting me wait for six million years. My current power is much stronger than when I first entered the Primogenitor Devil Mountain. Lie Yang, I’ve heard he defeated Rulers before. I wonder if he can match up against me.”
Even though his cultivation had risen tremendously on the Primogenitor Devil Mountain, he had yet to battle others.
On the second day.
“Zhi ya.”
The wooden door was pushed open. Xue Ying walked out from within the cavern-dwelling. His eyes were calm. He proceeded along the rugged mountain path, leaving behind several faint afterimages. The old puppet servant was respectfully following behind him.
“Dong Bo, I’ve heard that you are fighting with Lie Yang?” A girl who was covered in scarlet scales, with golden armor draped over her figure, smiled from another cavern dwelling further away.
“Your Highness.” Xue Ying chuckled. “I am currently heading to the arena.”
The girl in front of him was the second oldest of the three children the Great Emperor Jiao Yun had–’Jiao Yun Can’. She was also the strongest amongst the three and had left both her older and younger brother far behind. She had entered the Primogenitor Devil Mountain long ago. Even though the third prince Jiao Yun Liu had become a Ruler, compared to his sister, the gap between their power was quite noticeable.
“Since this is a battle to determine the strongest Paragon, I’ll come along with you.” Jiao Yun Can took a step before appearing by the side of Xue Ying.
“Alright, let’s go.” Xue Ying traveled alongside Jiao Yun Can.
“Lie Yang is quite powerful. Previously, he had rapidly become the strongest Paragon after appearing and entered the inner layer of Primogenitor Devil Mountain. Even I have never entered that place before. Are you confident of defeating him?” Jiao Yun Can was quite beautiful, and her eyebrows were like sharp swords. She would usually wear golden armor, and one could understand her character from this.
Xue Ying chuckled. “Whether I have the confidence or not, this battle is unavoidable. I want to personally test his strength.”
“It seems you are quite confident.” Jiao Yun Can giggled.
They traveled together.
There were also other Rulers proceeding along too. After all, the battle to determine the strongest Paragon… other than the ones ranked second and third, and other slightly more boring challenges where the loser re-challenged the winner, a battle where a newcomer fought the strongest Paragon was quite rare.
However, these newcomers actually had a higher chance of defeating the strongest Paragon. Because they suddenly popped out, it was hard to determine their power. Thus, they had higher hopes. As for those who had been defeated several times, expectations of them beating the strongest Paragon were meager.
“Dong Bo, this battle isn’t easy.”
“Dong Bo Xue Ying, that Lie Yang has been the strongest Paragon for too long. Defeat him.”
Once Xue Ying arrived at the arena, several Rulers who had reached earlier shouted out. The majority of them were Rulers situated in the outer layer and were naturally on the side of Xue Ying. During these years, Xue Ying had frequently gone to read books, and had also befriended with several other Rulers who were reading too. Everyone had quite a favorable opinion to this young Paragon with a good temper.
The arena was entirely dark green. It was located within the outer layer of Primogenitor Devil Mountain.
A moment after Xue Ying arrived here, the other participant also arrived.
“Paragon Lie Yang.” Xue Ying looked ahead.
Two figures walked out from the fog enshrouding the deeper region of the Primogenitor Devil Mountain. The puppet girl was walking in the rear, and the one in front was a male wearing a robe, with both his arms exposed. This male had light brown, seemingly glossy skin. He had silver hair that was tied in many thin plaits. Upon inspection, there seemed to be several dozen plaids.
He was barefooted.
But he had a terrifying aura which came emanated faintly from his body. He was currently walking over with huge steps with a saber kept in the scabbard on his back. Both his eyes were sharp, and they gave off an oppressive feeling.
“Dong Bo, he looked similar to you. Are both of you from the same cosmos?” Her Highness Jiao Yun Can shouted from the side.
“We aren’t.”
Paragon Lie Yang who walked from afar took the initiative to reply. His eyes were staring at Xue Ying sternly as his lip curled upwards. “I know all Paragons from my hometown cosmos. He is absolutely not one of them! Furthermore, all Paragons from my hometown have plaits, and he doesn’t!”
Saying that, he took a step before leaping up to the arena with a ‘sou’. He then stared at Xue Ying. “Come on, Paragon Dong Bo. Let me see how powerful you are.”
“Alright.”
Xue Ying also leaped onto the arena.
When the two of them stepped onto the arena, the many veined patterns on the surface of the dark green arena began lighting up. The light revolved around the patterns, and a dense black array appeared in the air, enveloping the arena within.
