King Galad's words were like a thousand lightning to Zhiyuan's heart and soul. His face turned pale upon recalling how irresponsible he was for not knowing what happened to YuYan twelve years ago. His heart almost stopped beating, feeling useless for letting YuYan fall into danger for the third time. A feeling of melancholy instantly spread throughout his veins. "It is not his fault." Marlene seethed with anger. She couldn't let King Galad make her best friend fall into despair. "You should know what he lost after losing Yue. He.." "Marlene.." Zhiyuan immediately interrupted, gripping Marlene's arm. Shaking his head with a bitter smile on his lips. He didn't want to bring up the past. "He is just telling the truth." With their conversation, Li FuJin who was silently listening asked with suspicion in his heart. "You are the one who asked him to be her pet?" Unfortunately, King Galad did not respond. He stared at Li FuJin but his eyes showed another meaning, yet no one could understand what it was. He looked at one of the elves who was standing by the wall like a frozen statue. "Prepare a room for each of them. Keep them on the same wing." King Galad instructed using elvish language. King Galad looked back at Li FuJin before he spoke. "This child cannot stay with any of you. She will be in the moon chamber until her poison is healed." His words are like a hailstorm that hits Li FuJin's body. The idea of YuYan staying somewhere other than his side made his imagination run wild. But the fear of losing the woman he loves made Li FuJin try hard to control his possessiveness towards her. He can only looked at Yuyan with a heavy heart before he turned around to leave. Each of Li FuJin's steps felt as heavy as stone. He felt like stumbling and falling to the ground as he continued to follow the guards. However, Zhiyuan remained at where he was standing, waiting for everyone to leave. When everyone left, King Galan glanced at the guards standing by the walls. With his silent gaze, the guards immediately turned to look at King Galad with rigid backs before they bowed down their heads and turned to leave. When they are left alone, there was a moment of silence. King Galan's neutral face turned dark. His eyes became fierce as he looked at Zhiyuan. King Galad spoke to him using elvish language to avoid others understanding his words. "This child was born for you to protect! Yet you failed thrice!" He seethed with anger. "You always look at her and her brother like they were your own children but what did you do?! You let him die and now she end up in this situation!" King Galan's unbearable voice rang towards the whole hall. Zhiyuan did not respond but his eyes started to sting. Tears began to form until it fell on his cheeks. Xiao XiRan's death kept flashing in his mind. His heart felt like being twisted, his soul was like under a blazing flame, burning him slowly. With a shaking voice Zhiyuan tried to ask. "What exactly happened to her twelve years ago?" "You will find out when the time is right." King Galad said with scorn, but his words were like a lightning bolt that striked Zhiyuan's body. "You need to find the fragment of her soul before anyone does." The green vines on King Galad's throne turned dark. He gritted his teeth while he tightened his arms on YuYan's body. "There should be no more sacrifices from these children. The moon is already bleeding, don't wait for it to collapse!" Right after his words, King Galad stood up and carefully held YuYan in his arms. Leaving the main hall, he did not look at Zhiyuan whose tears kept on flowing from his eyes.
