Addison grabbed Sally's hand and pulled her out of the elevator with a big smile on his face. "My parents want to see you."

Sally stopped abruptly and looked back to Addison. Startled, she swallowed and said, "Why didn't you tell me before?" Butterflies fluttered in her stomach. For a moment she didn't know how to respond to Addison's words as she had been both dreading and looking forward to this moment for some time now.

Addison giggled to himself for a moment. "So you could find a good excuse to refuse me?"

"No!" Sally's answer seemed a bit too rushed. "I...I... At least I would have been able to prepare myself a little better. You just caught me off-guard, that's all!"

Addison turned and faced her squarely. His slender fingers touched her face and ran along her cheek. In a calm and soft tone, he said, "Sally, you have already decided to accept me. The reason why my parents want to meet you is just so they can get to know you. That means they want to accept you as a member of the family. Got it?"

"But..."

"No buts!" Addison cut her short. "The fact that Dad and Mom want to see you means that you have their approval. Got it?" The astonishment on her face made him sigh. "You are the one I want to spend the rest of life with. They will accept you no matter what!"

As if under a spell, Sally was led into the car by Addison. The whole time, Sally twiddled her thumbs, crossed her legs and fidgeted in her seat nervously. In spite of Addison's airy tone, she couldn't take it easy. After all, she was on the way to meet his parents. How would they respond to her as his girlfriend? To the things from her past?

The car stopped at the parking lot in front of a nice restaurant. Sally looked to Addison without a conscious thought. On his cue, they both got out of the car.

Her movements were stiff and her heart was thumping in her chest like a war-drum as she followed Addison into the restaurant. Everything was happening so fast that she hardly had the time to process her thoughts properly. What if his parents ended up disliking her? What if they detested her for her past? A terrible sense of panic overtook her. She dragged her heavy legs as if they were made of lead.

"Addison," Sally muttered, lowering her head. "Can we..."

Having noticed Sally's discomfort, Addison stopped as he didn't want to push her too hard. "If you're not ready, we can reschedule for some other time. Okay?"

Sally looked quietly at Addison. The warmth in his eyes made her feel pangs of guilt. She shook her head and said, "Sooner or later I'm going to have to meet them." She continued in a low voice, "Unless I decide to leave you. If I want to be with you, I will have to do this. There is no way around it. I don't want to keep running anymore. I think I'm ready now."

"There's no need to worry. You can always count on me. Just relax." Addison gave her a reassuring look and smiled. The dimples on his handsome face made him even more charming.

Sally smiled back to him and tried her best to ignore the slight unease in the deep recesses of her heart. Clenching her fists tight, she stepped into the bui

knew that Misa had romantic feelings for his son and Fischer would like nothing more than to join the two houses with a marriage. Unfortunately, however, Addison had already found the one he loved.

Dragon Island was no longer able to do whatever it wanted like it did in the past. The idea of a political marriage didn't sound too bad in the future. However, his son had the right to choose his own wife without outside influences.

"I'm headed that way too. Care to join me?" Addison asked as he opened the car door for her. He knew uncle Eric must have arranged a car and driver for Misa, but he still offered her a ride nonetheless.

Misa accepted his invitation gladly. She kept talking without pause on their way to the National Congress.

"I got a call from Henrik earlier. He said that you had tonight planned out for everyone," Misa said, raising her eyebrows.

"That's right," Addison replied. "I want to introduce a friend to everyone. You know me, I like to plan ahead."

Misa's smile deepened as he said 'introduce a friend to everyone'. A sweet feeling of happiness formed within her. "I know you are extremely organized." She turned to him suddenly and asked, in a casual voice, "I wonder if there is someone in your life who can mess up all your plans or make you incapable of planning ahead at all." Misa's eyes was shining with eager anticipation.

As Sally's face flashed through his mind, Addison could hardly suppress a smile. "Maybe there is someone like that."

"Who?" Misa asked curiously. "I didn't expect an ambiguous answer like this from you."

Addison turned to take a quick glance at Misa. When he looked away he slowly muttered, "You will have your answer tonight. "

Addison's words confused her even more, but her face remained calm. "The anticipation is killing me. Don't tell me it's Henrik or another one of your weird friends because I am not going to buy that."

Addison only smiled.

Misa changed the topic. As she straightened her back in her seat, there was a strange look in her eyes. Could it be that what she had heard was true?
