Name:Love Crisis Author:Yue Xia Xiao Hun
Instead of waiting for the three people to respond, Addison put his cellphone on mute and put it back inside his pocket.

"Your Highness!" All the attendees of the meeting stood up at once and bowed their heads to Addison to show respect. They each took turns to greet Addison as he gracefully walked into the room.

He walked to the end of the conference table and sat on the chair at the head. After gesturing for everybody to sit down, he slowly said, "Minister Chu, please cancel the engagement ceremony."

Coco was startled by his decision, even though she knew that it was no longer a good time for an engagement ceremony, especially in consideration to the public opinions. In spite of the feeling of regret in her heart, she had no choice but to nod her head obediently. "Yes, Your Highness!"

Addison then shifted his sight from Coco to the minister of External Publicity Department. He asked, "How long will you need, at the very least, to silence the negative news?"

"Three days at the most," the minister answered in an apathetic tone. He looked quite calm, as if he had prepared himself for any emergency that could possibly take place.

Addison slightly nodded his head in response. Then he glanced over all the staff of the External Publicity Department. It seemed as though more or less everybody was able to keep their countenance, but their eyes were telling Addison a completely different story. He deliberately ignored it and asked them questions about the details of their work instead.

After an hour had passed, Addison learned everything he could about the progress of their work and set his eyes upon the minister of the External Publicity Department. "Now tell me, how difficult will it be to cancel the engagement ceremony and just do a wedding ceremony instead?"

Addison spoke in a peaceful tone, but his words were fashioned like bombs that shook and devastated the entire conference room. Even the minister of the External Publicity Department, a man known for his steady and calm disposition, and Coco, who had taken part in the weddings of three generations of Rulers, were both utterly flabbergasted by his words. They could no longer hide their confusion underneath a relaxed face.

"I beg your pardon, Your Highness. I don't understand what you mean," the minister of the External Publicity Department said, furrowing his brows slightly.

A faint smile crept up at the corners of Addison's mouth and a glimmer of coldness flashed across his eyes. He said, "I'm sorry. Did I stutter?"

Frowning, the minister said, "Your Highness, as you know, we're right in the middle of a storm. It's already going to be very difficult for us to take any emergency measures as it is. If..." 'If we announce a wedding under these circumstances, who knows how much chaos it will cause in the news, ' he thought to himself.

"All you need to tell me is," Addison said still in an apathetic tone, not waiting for the minister to finish his sentence, "how difficult it will be!"

The minister frowned and raised

Jean Wen sacrificed herself for family interests. Before her husband divorced her, she made every effort to please him.

"You are inexperienced in bed," he said coldly.

"You! Give that land to my family, or I won't agree to divorce," Jean replied furiously.

"Fine. It is exactly what I am thinking about," he sneered.

Addison lose temper in this way. He knew for a fact that Addison indeed felt annoyed by the rumors surrounding Sally that were spreading everywhere. The only reason why Addison didn't investigate any further was because he was afraid that the rumors would turn out to be true. If that were the case, he would not know how to face the fact. Addison felt envious of any man who might have been at Sally's side seven years ago when she was going through the most difficult time in her life. He even hated himself for not looking for Sally at that time. If he had found her then, everything would have been different today.

In truth, Addison was not angry with Sally, but with himself.

To make him feel worse, now Sally seemed to fear and was likely to retreat.

As a result, Addison could no longer keep calm. It seemed like the air was so cold that he could hardly breathe.

He stood still for quite a while. In the end, he closed his eyes with great sorrow. When he opened them, he took his cellphone and sent a short message.

"Sally, please don't leave me! I will fix everything, I promise! You have no idea and you will most likely never know how much I hate myself right now. All I ever wanted was to take care of you until the day I die, but I ended up putting you in more trouble!"

Sally burst into tears when she read the short message. She just could not stop her tears from spilling over her eyes. Immediately, she replied, "I'm at the flower bed in front of the National Congress. Addison, I will never leave you! Never!"

Addison was a bit surprised when he read Sally's short message. Without a conscious thought, he raised his head to look out of the window. Just as Sally said, he saw a figure sitting on the edge of the flower bed in front of the building. In a pitiful manner, she was looking up to the direction of his office.

Addison felt an explosion of emotions rush out of his heart all of a sudden. He could no longer think logically. By sheer instinct, he turned around and ran downstairs.
