It's been two days since Min Jae left for France. For the time being, the children were staying at the Kim family's residence until their father comes back. Eun Young knew that it was just an excuse of her parents to have their grandchildren come over. Nevertheless, she agreed. It was either the kids stay over at their home or her parents will compromise.
The day went on as usual. She was regularly conducting consultations today. It wasn't until an unexpected visitor stepped foot on Eun Young's office that turned her seemingly ordinary day into something quite interesting. A familiar man entered her office. But what was difficult to comprehend was the child he was carrying in his arms.
"Kang Suk Ju?" Eun Young asked in disbelief. Suk Ju flashed a small smile before heading to sit at one of the chairs in front of Eun Young's desk.
"What's up Dr. Lee!" He casually remarked.
Eun Young scoffed at the way he addressed her. 'Dr. Lee?' Guess he was here for an appointment. Eun Young glanced at the child he was carrying. The little one was sleeping peacefully. She had a mask on but Eun Young evidently noticed her reddening face.
"You... Is your child okay? What seems to be the problem?" She asked, trying hard to hide her bewilderment upon finding out that Suk Ju already had his own family. She was a little disappointed. He could've at least invited her to the wedding or something.
Suk Ju lightly chuckled and shook his head. "I wish. You'd be the first to know if I somehow ended up getting myself pregnant!" He joked. "This is my niece. Babysitting duties..." Suk Ju clarified.
Eun Young blinked upon hearing his words. Soon after, she laughed at the situation in hopes of masking her embarrassment. "Sorry, I... I totally got the wrong idea." She admitted. Checking the records, it was there. Kang Suk Ju was indeed just the child's guardian.
Straightening up, she turned to face him professionally. After clearing her throat, Eun Young spoke. "How is she?" She asked.
"I checked her temperature earlier this morning and it worried me. She lost her appetite and even when she tried to finally eat, she would just throw up afterwards." Suk Ju explained.
Eun Young nodded as she carefully analyzed the symptoms. To further confirm her diagnosis, she asked Suk Ju to help the little girl lie down so she can make more observations. The little girl slowly opened her eyes upon feeling the blanket beneath her. When Eun Young saw that the child had regained consciousness, she met her eye and gently spoke to her. "Hi little girl, Auntie's just gonna check some things to help make you feel better soon. Is that okay?"
The little girl weakly agreed. Eun Young proceeded to check her vitals and for signs that she might be having a serious illness. So far, there wasn't any. Suk Ju sighed out of relief as soon as Eun Young reported this.
"There's nothing to be worried about at this point.
But of course, we have to treat her fever." Eun Young said. She hastily scribbled something on a piece paper and after she was finished, she handed it to Suk Ju. "You can get this drug at the pharmacy near the lobby. Remember to give it to her at the prescribed time to prevent her fever from skyrocketing again."
Suk Ju shortly glanced at the paper given to him before turning to beam at Eun Young. "Thanks Dr. Lee. I am honestly glad to know that I worried over nothing." He confessed.
Eun Young chuckled. "Well, good luck on your babysitting duties. You should do a better job, 'Uncle'. The child's parents might scold you if they hear about this." She advised.
Suk Ju lightly laughed as well. "Guess what? They already have and they definitely scolded my a**."

Eun Young and Dal Rae went out for soju and chicken that night. How could Eun Young refuse? Dal Rae was paying! Besides, Dal Rae practically dragged her along so consequently, she didn't have a choice.
"So... is there a specific reason why I'm here drinking with you tonight?" Eun Young finally asked as soon as their food and beverages were delivered.
Dal Rae simply shrugged. "Nothing. Can't I just tag you along because I was feeling it? Besides, you said your husband is out of the country and your kids are at your parents' house. Gosh woman, in the longest time I can finally have you all to myself. Should there be a specific reason why we're out drinking?" She returned the question.
"Well for one... don't people usually go out to drink because they want to forget?" Eun Young suggested before taking a chicken wing.
Dal Rae scoffed and rolled her eyes. "You watch way too much drama, Eun Young." She remarked. "Look at this." Dal Rae picked up a chicken and a shot of soju. "They go really well together! But they're better inside my stomach." She said before gulping down the soju.
"Now you're really acting like a heartbroken person, Dal Rae." Eun Young stated. "What's the matter? Did you happen to come across another jerk again?"
Dal Rae vigorously shook her head. "I just don't understand this stupid organ." She frowned as she pointed at her chest.
"What... your lungs?" Eun Young joked and her friend immediately glared at her. "Not funny, Eun Young!" Dal Rae exclaimed.
Eun Young couldn't help but stifle a laugh. Dal Rae is really a strong person but just like her, they both fail when it comes to their relationships. "Alright, I get it. What's wrong then? Did you already fall in love with Dr. Nam or something?" Eun Young guessed.
Dal Rae remained silent. Just as Eun Young thought she was about to respond, Dal Rae drank another glass of soju instead. "It's not love so don't get the wrong idea." Dal Rae cleared afterwards. "He's way out of my league! I'm a b**** and he seems like a decent guy. He's too good to be true!"
Eun Young glanced at her exasperated friend. "But...?" She trailed off.
Dal Rae raised an eyebrow at her. "What do you mean 'but'?"
"Oh come on, Dal Rae. You can't expect me to believe that's everything." Eun Young smirked.
Dal Rae hesitated, but it didn't take long for her to finally confess. The person in front of her is Eun Young. She knew she could tell Eun Young anything. "Maybe... I like him? Just a little bit." Dal Rae admitted, her cheeks reddening as she spoke.
The two stayed to chat for a little while longer. When they were still in college, they would always go out together like this. But because Eun Young now had a family of her own and the both of them now had different priorities, they don't usually get the chance to hang out like before. Tonight was indeed a first for the past years.
In the middle of their conversation, Eun Young's phone suddenly rang. "Hold on." She gestured to Dal Rae before quickly answering the call from home. From the other line, Mrs. Bong said that they had a visitor. She already advised the guest to return the next day since the night was already deep but the visitor said it was an important matter.
Without wasting more time, Eun Young grabbed her purse. "Dal Rae, I'm sorry but I'll have to go first." She guiltily apologized. Eun Young sincerely wanted to spend time with Dal Rae too but she can't keep the guest waiting. It would be embarrassing to have the visitor wait longer.
"Go on, I can manage." Dal Rae approved. She was a bit disheartened but before it could even show on her face, she shooed Eun Young away.
It only took Eun Young a few minutes before she finally arrived home. Fortunately, she didn't drink much and there was almost no traffic on the road. Alighting from the vehicle, Eun Young saw the silhouette of a person being blocked by security. She slowly approached them while at the same time, she was guessing who it might possibly be. They weren't expecting guests as far as she could remember.
"Mrs. Lee, we have no previous record of this woman entering the residence before so we didn't grant her the permission to enter. She's looking for Mr. Lee, is she an acquaintance of yours?" The security guard asked.
In that moment, the woman turned to look at Eun Young. Eun Young was able to make out the woman's face even beneath the dim light and even if she just saw her twice, she couldn't possibly forget her. "We don't know her. Please see her away and see to it that she doesn't step a foot in this subdivision ever again." Eun Young commanded in a cold and authoritative tone.
"Wait! Where's Min Jae? I need to see him immediately!" Na Rae protested as the guards began nearing her.
"He's not here and he won't ever see you again. Don't make a scene and just leave." Eun Young retorted.
Na Rae fought the guards as they began to hold her. "I need to tell him something! Please, I... I couldn't contact him and it's very important that I tell him personally!" She insisted. Eun Young noticed the pained expression on her face but she chose not to be fooled by it. She might've fooled Min Jae, but definitely not her!
Eun Young made a move to return to her car. She's had enough already. But before she could even open the vehicle's door, Na Rae suddenly exclaimed.
"I'm pregnant!"
