Chapter 17 - Get to the work(2)

Mia and Shellby left to their respective places for preparation of journey. It was very good to see them joyful but contrary they both are leaving me alone... when I am going to have a tough time. But I can't tell them about his warning and that night incident as I don't want to bother them.

It can't be just co-incidence that they both get their dream opportunities at the same time, especially when I m in a trouble and I need them.Maybe I m thinking more than needed.

Mia had already submitted her resignation as much as I know. So having the thought that I m not going to hung up with her today. Cold mindly I left for work.

It was a normal day, I performed a C-section surgery, checked my patients and done with the records until I was called in office by Banner.

He was busy with some other stuff, when I entered.. upon seeing me, his face turned sad,-"Come in Jessica, Have a seat. "

I had seat in front of him, -"You don't seem well Mr. Banner, is everything OK? "

He gave me a serious look, -"I don't know how to say, I m sorry Jessica but I'm left with no options ..i have orders to fire you.."

"Fire me.... why?? "- I was in shock.

He continued, -"I can't fire you and I even don't want to... I don't know the reason but I think it can be more personal than professional. So, before I fire you, I want you to resign.

"But how can you fire me, without any reason? "-i questioned him angrily.

I left his office to mine, I was confused about what is happening. But I have to resign. I typed my resignation letter and mailed it to Banner.

I was packing my stuff when I got a call from an unknown number. I picked, -"Hii who's this? "

"I hope you liked your day.,it's just the beginning... you have to face my few more surprises, let me know if you changed your mind,-"voice on the other side said.

Now got that it is Christian who is doing all this, -"I won't change my mind... fu*k off", I hung up.
