42 Chapter 42: Royal Flush

But he hadn't understood why Ethan had suddenly approached Kylie, and married her without knowing her very well. But he could see now that Ethan's indifferent, cold temperament of many years would suddenly change at the mention of Kylie.

"He should be better," Elliot analyzed.

"Good, these documents are very urgent." The chief secretary smiled and knocked at the CEO's door.

Her smile had barely had time to sit on her face when she heard two cold words from inside the office: "Go away."

The chief secretary was speechless, and Elliot shrugged his shoulders, "Oops. Sorry."

Late that night, Ethan is at an entertainment club.

He was surrounded by the sound of people playing Texas Hold'em again.

"Lord Ethan, I will lose my underwear if you win again." A fat man shook his head helplessly.

Ethan was sitting at the table, barely speaking a word all night. When he did say something, it was "Straight" or "Flush." The fat man wanted to quit, but he was afraid of making Ethan angry.

The thin man who was sitting beside the fat man also wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and carefully looked at his cards. "Lord Ethan had good luck today. I envy him."

The next man, who was about to draw a card, saw Ethan move in the corner of his eye. His hand suddenly stopped in the air. His eyes were filled with a rapidly waning joy. "Lord, flush again?"

Ethan leaned back in his chair and didn't speak.

He cautiously looked at Ethan's face, then drew a card. It wasn't until he saw Ethan being dealt with more cards, that he took a deep breath.

Ethan rotated a chip between two fingers, to another two fingers, without trying to be fancy. He seemed legitimately relaxed. Then he spoke two words:

"Royal flush."

The other man's hands shook as he pushed his chips towards Ethan. This was terrible.

Just as they were all handing in their chips, the fat man's cell phone rang. He looked at the caller id, and answered with impatience: "What?! I see... Okay, I'm in a meeting! Bye."

The fat man put his phone away and complained to Ethan: "I'm really sick of this old woman. Calling me seems to be her only business. As if I can make money when I have nothing to do!"

At that time, the thin man's phone began to ring. His attitude was more harmonious: "Sweetie. Do you miss me? ...No, there are no girls here. I'm playing cards with a few bosses... I love you. Good night."

The thin man hung up the phone. He agreed with the fat man. "Exactly. See? She suspects me of looking for another woman... Calls me three times in an hour, If I'm really having sex, I must be really fast..."

The third man raised his mobile phone. "My girl hasn't called me, but she's left me many messages. If I don't text back within three minutes, she complains that I don't love her."

Ethan's face was getting darker, and his entire body was filled with a chill. He pushed his cards forward and got up to leave.

The others were immediately dumbfounded. What had they said? Ah, yeah, they had just been saying that being entangled with a woman was very annoying... Lord Ethan was so proud; he would never experience such pain.

Nate quickly picked up his phone that Ethan had left behind. There were no missed calls or messages. He smiled at the others. "Remember to transfer the money to his account."

When he ran outside, he could barely make out the Knight XV's tail lights.

Then he noticed Fannie Bass standing to the side. "Why are you here?" he asked.

Fannie grabbed the phone in Nate's hand. "This is his phone, right? I'll send it to him."

After she finished, she rushed to the Maserati parked on the side of the road. She had tried so many times to create a chance encounter with Ethan. Today, she finally had a reason.

She was happily driving along for three minutes before a Lamborghini nudged her to the side of the road. Nate got out of the car and took the mobile phone away from her.

"Are you crazy? Do you think you can just go to Toprak Mansion without his permission?"

Ben, the butler, watched from afar as the Knight XV drove towards Toprak Mansion.

Then he heard the sound of the car horn...

But he didn't see anybody emerge from the car.

Annoyed with himself, Ethan leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes. His chin was slightly raised, and the lights outside the car window outlined his angular profile.

He had not returned home last night on purpose, and he hadn't shown up at all during the day. "As the wife, shouldn't she be the first to call me?" He seethed.

He had made a lot of noise when he'd driven in. He assumed he must have been heard.

Even if she was reading her script, it was unlike her not to come out and investigate. It's said that all women love to gossip. He thought that Kylie would be curious as to what was happening.

Everyone else seemed upset with their wives and lovers because of their endless nagging, while Ethan was annoyed that his wife did not bother him at all...

He wanted to take out his cellphone and check, after such a long time, if there were any unread messages or missed calls. But he suddenly remembered that he'd left his phone behind.

He frowned. The handsome face became gloomy.

Half an hour later, he opened the car door. He thought, sulkily: It's best that she doesn't stick to me, then there won't be any trouble when we divorce.

He strode towards the living room, without stopping, and gently ordered Ben: "Call Nate and tell him to bring my phone back."

"Yes, sir."

Seeing him pulling a long face, Lucy had wanted to approach him, but she was scared and backed off.

He continued to stride towards the bedroom.

As soon as he pushed the bedroom door open, he was struck dumb with astonishment. He never allowed the servants to enter his bedroom, so the room remained exactly the same since Kylie left:
