118 Chapter 118: Dare To Behave Against The Company

Lucas noticed she seemed to be in a good mood, at least when he saw her before. Without apologizing for interrupting, Khloe strode over and plopped right down on the sofa and started texting someone.

"Well…as I was saying, sir, Kylie may not be able to accept any of the contracts," Lucas continued calmly.

Before Laurence had a chance to reply, Khloe blew up, slamming her hands on the glass table and rattling the items on it. "Who the hell does she think she is?! How dare she behave against our company? That bitch!"

Laurence sighed, "Not again," he muttered to himself. He stood up and walked over to Khloe, inspecting her hands.

"You already know Kylie's personality. She always does whatever she wants." Lauren carefully checked Khloe's hands in case she got hurt, and then turned to Lucas, "Have Kylie come to the company right away!"

"Sir, Kylie has a cold and cannot step outdoors," Lucas replied sincerely.

"Then let her put on a mask. She merely has a cold, not an incurable disease! Does she expect me to visit her now?!"

"Well, please allow me to call Kylie first." Lucas left the office and dialed Kylie's number.

Ethan was away on a business trip, so Kylie was spending her day playing with Pupu in the garden when she received Lucas's phone call.

"Hey, Lucas, what's the damage?"

"Your father wants you to visit him. He's quite pissed off," Lucas replied, delivering Laurence's words to Kylie clearly, thinking Kylie would refuse her father's demand. However, to his surprise, Kylie laughed and replied, "I'll be there!"

Lucas looked down at his cell when Kylie hung up. "Well, she seems too happy about this…"

Kylie did go to the company but not in her car. When the ambulance stopped downstairs in front of the company's front doors, both passersby and several media personnel surrounded the building of Garcia Entertainment, trying to get a glimpse of who was inside the ambulance. The cameras started flashing as Kylie stepped out of the ambulance, looking like she had been through hell. Her face was pale, her hair was bedraggled, her clothes were all wrinkled, and her voice was hoarse.

"What happened to you, Kylie? Are you feeling alright?" A reporter asked, pushing a mic in front of her face.

"Thank you so much for asking. I have a really bad cold. Trust me, and I feel bad as I look. But my father called me here today to discuss my future plans with Garcia Entertainment."

"Did you have to do that today? You still have an IV drip in your arm for God's sake!" A videographer zoomed in on the IV in Kylie's hand.

Kylie covered her "wound" with the other hand, and raised a smile towards the camera, "There are many more professional actors who won't give up working for being slightly injured. It's no big deal. I should learn from them."

"Then, can you tell us what plans and arrangements Garcia Entertainment has for you?" Another reporter yelled out a question.

"Have you been treated the way an actress should be with your father's own company?"

Kylie coughed twice, trying to portray how sick she was and answered, "Whatever my father's decision maybe, I will accept it. And I'll be sure to keep you informed."

Lucas thought it was the right time for Kylie to leave before the reporters bombarded her with any other questions, so he quickly shoved into the crowd and helped Kylie step down the ambulance. Kylie and Lucas walked into Garcia Entertainment with a crowd of reporters yelling out questions behind them.

Laurence had clearly witnessed every detail of what had happened from a window of his office. He angrily smashed an unfinished cigarette into a nearby ashtray. What the fuck was Kylie playing at? She had played the sick, obedient child card, and the media would focus all their attention on this meeting. They would believe Kylie was more than willing to cooperate with the company even though she was ill. This made it even more difficult for Laurence to carry out his previous plan.

While Laurence was in his fit of rage, Kylie pushed the office door open and walked in slowly.

"Father, you were looking for me?" Kylie uttered innocently.

"Nice acting!" Laurence glared at Kylie, taking a seat in his executive chair, "I've accepted an advertisement for you. Prepare for it within two days."

"Sorry, Father, as you can probably see, I'm very sick now, and I can't work," Kylie replied, motioning towards her bandaged hand.

"You!" Laurence stood up and glared at Kylie angrily, "It is the arrangement of the company. You have no right to say no! No matter how famous you are right now, you're still an employee of Garcia Entertainment. I'm your boss and your father!"

"But the media are aware of me being sick. If you force me to work, what if they criticize you for making money without caring for your workers' health?" Kylie replied while pacing the door. Even though she seemed calm and collected, her mind was raging with anger at her father's statement. How dare he dictate her under the pretense of him being her father?

"Kylie Finch! Don't you dare speak to me in this way!" Laurence was wholly irritated by Kylie's interactions with the media without his permission, "Though you don't respect me as your father, don't forget what you said when you signed the agreement with Garcia Entertainment. It was you who agreed and signed to follow the company's arrangement without any disagreement!"

Kylie did not care about the agreement at all, actually. Even if her 'oh so caring' father took her to court over breach of agreement, Garcia Entertainment would be the side who would lose. Back then, Garcia Entertainment had promised to pay Kylie a certain amount of money which Kylie still had not received yet.

"But the media already has photos and videos of me being sick just now. So what can I do?" Kylie pretended to cough and then looked at Laurence meekly.
