215 Chapter 215: What Is This All About?

Once supper was over, everyone settled in the living room to play games. In the corner, there was a cupboard full of games. There was a Monopoly, Risk, Checkers, Chess, Munchkin, Labyrinth, and a plethora of other games. There were two couches, a bean bag chair, and large throw pillows all over the place.

"I am so excited," Fannie exclaimed as she looked through the games. "Who designed this room?"

"I designed it," Kylie replied. "I wanted Ethan to have a place where he could relax. I know he is too busy every day at work and homey place like this could make him a bit happy,"

"I can tell that Ethan spoils you," Fannie said, jealousy was added in her voice.

"Actually," Kylie said and smiled at her, "we spoil each other."

"How does that work?" Fannie wondered.

"It's hard to explain," Kylie replied. "The only way that I could put it is to say that we are both equals. Where he is stronger, I let him take the lead, and vice versa."

"Oh, I see, Ethan really a good husband,"

Fannie changed the topic and asked if they wanted to play Risk. "It's a long game," she said, "but the night is young, and, if we need to, we can leave it on the table and finish playing it some other time."

Everyone had agreed with her choice, so she began setting it up.

Fannie was bad at playing games, and she was killed at the very beginning. Not wanting to be left out, she poured drinks for everybody and sat down beside Kylie. Once Kylie was done her turn, she said, "Kylie, you've been very popular recently."

"It's no big deal," Kylie laughed. "All I did was go on a reality show. In showbiz, one day, you are at the top and gone the next. What you are seeing is likely no more than my fifteen minutes of fame."

Kylie was the next to go out of the game, and so Fannie took the opportunity to ask her if she could ask her something.

"Go ahead," Kylie replied. "The worst that could happen is I could say no, or say nothing at all."

Fanny took a deep breath and said, "I want to work in your company."

"What?" Kylie was confused. "What about Nate's company?"

Fannie snorted and said, "I would if he allowed me. He is so mean sometimes, but I don't want to stay at home all day. It is so boring!"

Kylie understood what Fannie was saying. Furthermore, a woman should be able to depend on herself. She thought about it for a few minutes. With her newly established department, she was looking for new staff, so perhaps Fanny might be exactly what she was looking for…

Kylie told Fannie the deal she had settled with Laurence and which roles she was trying to fill. Fanny looked at her and said, "I've never been an agent before, but I could be your PR manager. I know many people who could help,"

Fannie raised her volume as she got more and more excited. She said, "I know a makeup brand that is looking for a brand ambassador. It's an online shop. Although they are not big yet, they could be exactly what you need! It would be another chance for your good exposure,"

Kylie nodded. "We need to seize every opportunity that comes our way. You can go ahead and contact them tomorrow. I'll meet with Director Miller tomorrow morning, and then we'll discuss the next step. I will be happy working with you,"

Fannie smiled and said, "Great! No problem! Thank you so much for taking a chance on me! I will do my best to help you,"

Once the game was over, Nate and Ethan went into the gym for a light workout. They had just finished with the free weights and were both on the treadmill. As they walked, they talked. Nate turned to Ethan and said, "You haven't really told anyone what your plans are. You keep hiding something on us. It is making a lot of people nervous. Please, at least tell me what you are thinking. Then, when people come to me, I can honestly tell them that everything is okay. I need to hear your opinion. We are working so hard for something,"

Ethan remained silent as he ran. A layer of dense sweat covered his forehead, and the back of his shirt was drenched.

Stephen came in suddenly, with a bucket of beer in his right hand. He showed them the beer and said, "Why don't you guys take a break and have a beer with me? It's best to relax your muscles after a few exercise,"

Ethan gave him a cold glance and kept running.

Annoyed, Stephen put the beer bucket down, walked over to Ethan, and turned the treadmill off directly, by pulling the plug out of the wall.

"What the fuck?" Ethan shouted.

"Calm down," Stephen said. "The beer was a ruse. I would like to talk about Kylie. Have you investigated her background?"

Ethan stepped off of the treadmill, took a beer from the bucket, opened it up, and took a few large sips. He wiped off the sweat on his face with a towel and tried to read Stephen's mind.

Nate looked at Stephen and wondered, "What is this all about? Did something happen?"

Stephen looked at Nate, and then his eyes went back to Ethan.

Nate felt his anger rise, and he shouted at Stephen: "What the hell is this about. I knew that Lord Ethan came to Kylie for a reason. But he isn't actually in love with her, is he?"

Ethan had finished his beer, but he still hadn't said anything. He'd been listening though, and before Stephen had a chance to reply, Ethan shouted, "Get out! Both of you! All I want is to be able to work out in peace!"

Nate looked at Stephen and said, "Now look at what you've done. Thanks a lot, you asshole.

Stephen smiled and said, "You're welcome."
