339 Chapter 339: Does He Hate Me?

The road Matthew had walked through to his success was all laid out by Ethan.

If Kylie wasn't deeply loved by this man, she would feel Ethan was so frightening.

"Aren't you afraid he'll retaliate against you?" Kylie looked up, smiling at Stephen.

Stephen took her hand and walked back. "Nope, I have you as a hostage."

When they passed the fountain again, Kylie paid more attention to it. It seemed difficult for someone to hide there, but where did the gaze she just felt come from?

Before she could figure it out, she sensed they were walking in a different direction. Kylie was struck dumb for a second.

"Where are we going?"

"Don't you want to visit Aiden?"

"Now?"

"You'll go back to the crew tomorrow, and he probably is already put in jail when you finish the shooting." Stephen pressed the car remote control and helped Kylie cover her head to let her sit in without hitting the car roof.

In fact, it was pretty nice to have a boyfriend like Stephen because he was considerate, gentle, and tender.

Kylie pinched her jaw, thinking she must help Dinah chase Stephen. She wasn't willing to let such a quality man be the boyfriend of a woman who wasn't her friend, but a stranger.

Stephen drove the car and noticed Kylie was staring at him all the time.

"What, am I more handsome than Ethan?" There was a faint smile on his lips. "You're tenderer than him. He's always so cold!" Kylie Beamed.

"Well, no matter how cold he is, he already melts when he's with you," Stephen gave her a glance.

Kylie adjusted the safety belt, smiling. "You're also more humorous than him." Stephen pulled his lips and didn't say another word.

He was reluctant to say it aloud that he was just a back-up. No matter if Kylie was willing to be with him or not, he would stay by her side and protect her forever.

The car stopped at the door of the police station. Stephen went inside first to get permission before he brought Kylie walking in later.

Seeing through the iron railings which were as thick as a finger, Kylie couldn't believe this scruffy man in front of her was a then rich heir who was used to living a luxurious life.

Aiden thought the Department of Justice came to collect evidence again, so he dug his ears and shouted very disdainfully, "I already told you everything that I know. Even if you ask me a hundred times, I still have nothing else to say. I didn't illegally take the money!"

Kylie stepped forward and called him with uncertainty, "Aiden?"

The man who was hunching his back there froze in an instant, then he slowly looked up with his eyes wide open, staring at Kylie.

After a long minute, he turned around, walking away.

"Aiden, I came here to visit you!" Kylie raised her voice, talking loudly to Aiden with the window in the middle, but Aiden already disappeared in her sight.

Stephen smiled, then raised his hand, pointing inside.

Kylie turned again in surprise and saw Aiden walking back.

However, he seemed a little different this time.

Maybe he had used his saliva to fix his hair. Although it was still a little messy, it was obviously neater. His chin was all red, and a few noticeable long beards were pulled out.

He strode over with his back, straightened up.

Aiden swore while walking to her. "Damn it! Why didn't you tell me you're going to visit me? I can exchange clothes with my new friend in this damn place. He just came in today, and his clothes are still new."

Kylie snorted with laughter.

The two sat down by a table again.

Aiden's hand was still pulling the beards around his chin. He smiled and looked at Kylie. "You're prettier every time I see you."

Kylie rolled her eyes at him. "Stop pulling your beards. Do you have any wishes? Tell me, and I'll see whether I can help you."

"Why? I'm not going to die anyway." Aiden grinned. "Economic crime. I'll be free in a few years to the most, and I can build my business up by then." Kylie understood he was just pretending in front of her face. What she just had seen at first glance when she walked in here was his real condition.

Therefore, she glanced at Stephen, then looked at Aiden and asked, "Do you want to reverse the verdict?"

Hearing that, Aiden's body trembled a little before he raised a smile. "And then? Throw my dear father in jail? He'll die within a year in jail."

On their way back, Kylie remained silent.

The car stopped before the Empire Hotel, and Stephen turned to look at Kylie. "Are you thinking what Aiden just said?"

"Yes," Kylie said lightly, then unfastened the safety belt.

Before they left, Aiden asked her for a favor. He hoped his mother could live a good life during her old age.

Matthew had countless mistresses, and it was impossible that he would take care of Taylor if he was put in jail.

"Shall we hire a nurse for Taylor?" Kylie asked Stephen.

"I think you better let her be a housemaid to serve Ethan's mother. She'll be safe by old Mr. Parker's side."

"Good idea!" Kylie patted on Stephen's shoulder.

"But she probably won't agree." Stephen raised his hand to close the door of the elevator.

When the door closed, Kylie sensed the sharp look again, which was from the back of the pillars in the lobby.

Who is stalking me?

The housekeeper didn't know they went to the police station until he had prepared the meal, so he warmed the food up when they were back.

"I didn't know you'll be home late, so the food is a little cold now. Don't worry, I already heat them up." Stephen's smile disappeared when the housekeeper talked to him. He tasted the food first, making sure there were no other strange ingredients, then told Kylie to have some.

"The food is warm now."

Kylie looked to Dinah's room. "Dinah isn't back yet?"

"She called and won't come back for the meal." The housekeeper sensed Stephen's coldness towards him, so he talked to Kylie to allay the embarrassment.

Kylie nodded, but she didn't have an appetite at all.

Dinah stayed by Ethan's side and didn't come back after a long time. Kylie was worried Ethan could encounter trouble.

Seeing Kylie being worried, Stephen said to her, "You can call Dinah after eating." Kylie knew Stephen was giving her a hint.

They must keep their relationship a secret before the housekeeper, so she couldn't call Ethan right now.

"Dinah must be having fun somewhere now." Kylie smiled, then began to eat.

The housekeeper did his job very well, standing not far away from the dining table all the time.

Although Stephen refused to talk to him, he still served soup and other dishes to Stephen as usual and moved Stephen's favorite food near to his young lord.

When the housekeeper had appeared by Stephen's side countless times, Stephen finally lost his patience and gave him a cold glance. "I have hands."

The housekeeper was rejected once more and stepped back to a not noticeable place.

Kylie touched Stephen's leg with hers under the table, and Stephen gave her a side look. Kylie immediately beamed to please him.

He then raised his head, looking at the housekeeper. "Come here. Have a seat and dine with us," he said in a cold tone.

"Lord Stephen..." The housekeeper was a little excited.

It was the first time that his young lord had invited him to dine with them, although actually, Kylie had forced Stephen to do so.

The housekeeper felt so touched.

Seeing the housekeeper almost cried, Stephen added, "We can't eat all of them. Don't waste food."

The housekeeper was struck dumb for a second, then still felt thankful sitting down by the table.

Kylie hit Stephen's leg once more.

Stephen looked at her, frowning, then unwillingly put a piece of fish on the housekeeper's plate. "The fish tastes very good."

The housekeeper couldn't help but cry, and drops of tears fell on his plate.

Somehow, he felt the food tasted so good tonight.
