438 Chapter 438: Congrats

Bill was five years older than Harvey, and he was an upright man who disliked the unspoken rules in the entertainment industry.

It was also one of the reasons Ethan let Kylie choose this show.

He glanced across the three actresses standing in a row behind Harvey with a cold face before his sight fell on Kylie. "Kylie, come here."

"Thanks, Director Wyatt." Kylie smiled and went to sit with him by the dining table.

Harvey planned to sit by his older brother's side but moved to sit across Bill when Bill gave him a cold eye.

Vivian, of course, sat by Harvey's side, while the other two actresses sat together at his other side.

Kylie sat by Bill's left side, and there were several vacant seats at his right side, which meant there were more important figures coming to join the meal. Probably the leading actor in the show would show up.

When they just opened a bottle of red wine, someone came in again.

"Bill, been a while!" A middle-aged woman smiled at Bill.

Kylie stood up in a hurry, because this woman was a famous, experienced actress in the industry, and she had won many film awards.

"It's so nice to meet you, Ms. Green!" Kylie pulled a chair out for Kate Green. "Please have a seat."

Kate stared at Kylie for a long while, then said with a smile, "Kylie, you're one of the most popular actresses now. Congrats!"

"Thanks!" Kylie didn't walk back to her seat until Kate was seated.

Vivian rolled her eyes but didn't say a word.

In her eyes, those aged actors should disappear from the industry and leave more space for newcomers like her.

She didn't like Kate, and Kate disliked her either.

"Bill, hasn't the leading actor arrived yet?" Kate asked.

Bill checked his watch. "We don't need to wait for him. Probably his plane is late. We can enjoy the meal now."

They raised their wine glasses, but there was only juice in Kylie's glass.

"I'm sorry. I'm still under an infusion of antibiotics, and I can't drink wine," Kylie said and raised her hand.

Kate asked with concern, "What happened?"

"I got sick after coming back from Britain," Kylie explained with a smile.

"I heard you're the spokesperson of the International Film Festival this year." Kate gave Kylie a thumbs-up. "Congratulations!"

Vivian also raised her glass, looking at Kylie. "Congratulations, Kylie. You're my idol. Cheers!"

"I'm sorry. I can't drink. What if I'm caught by drug poisoning, how should I finish my part in the new TV show?" Kylie still smiled, but she had no good impression of Vivian now.

Vivian was so arrogant and lacked respect for those experienced artists of the old generation.

One could never gain others' respect if he didn't respect others.

Vivian still wanted to say something, but Harvey kicked her under the table, and she shut her mouth at once.

Bill then simply introduced the new show before he said to Kate, "Kate, Kylie will be your daughter-in-law from tomorrow."

"Nice to see you, mother." Kylie smiled and clinked her glass against Kate's.

"Ha-ha, I wish I could have such a nice daughter-in-law like Kylie." Kate laughed and sipped her wine.

Everyone started to relax and enjoy the meal, but Kylie felt like vomiting again, seeing the dishes on the table.

"I think Kylie isn't feeling quite well today." Kate put down her knife and fork. "Kylie, why don't you go home and have a good rest? You need to recover soon to attend the opening ceremony."

Bill agreed and said to Kylie, "Kylie, you can leave now, and you'll see the leading actor sooner or later."

"Can I?" Kylie felt it wasn't appropriate if she left right now, but she just couldn't see those dishes a second longer.

"Sure, you can!" Kate said.

"Well, I'm so sorry. Please excuse me." Kylie apologized to them, then left the room.

Seeing Kylie walking out with her handbag, Faith understood she was leaving, but the meal just began.

"What happened? It didn't go well?" Faith walked to her without delay.

"No, I just don't feel well. Ms. Green and Director Wyatt told me to have a rest home," Kylie said.

"Hi, can I settle the bill now, please?" Faith said to a waiter.

The waiter gave a glance at the table number, then said with a smile, "Miss Upton said she'd cover the bill."

Faith exchanged a glance with Kylie, then understood what Vivian wanted to do.

"She wants to poach my people?" Kylie snorted. "In her dream!" After that, Kylie told Faith to pay the bill.

Ethan was also surprised that Kylie came home so early.

"Kylie didn't feel well, and she ate nothing," Faith said to Ethan.

"You didn't eat much either. Stay here and have some food with us." Kylie pulled Faith and told her to stay.

Faith agreed, then sat down with Kylie to enjoy the meal prepared by Lucy.

"Vivian is so disgusting," Faith complained to Ethan. "She didn't respect Kylie at all."

"It's not a big deal." Kylie gently knocked her elbow against Faith.

"She indeed is shameless. Does she think nobody knows her sexual relationship with Harvey?" Faith said in annoyance. "She has slept with Harvey countless times for the role in the music video."

"Don't slander Faith." Kylie was displeased. "We don't have any proof after all."

"I..." Faith was a little unhappy. She was defending Kylie, but Kylie criticized her.

Ethan laid his hand on the back of Kylie's chair and watched them arguing.

He didn't open his mouth until Faith was gone. "Faith is a little impatient now."

"You've noticed that too?" Kylie turned to look at Ethan. "But I think she's still kind to me."

"Are you sure you still have her loyalty after what has happened to Ken?" Ethan asked her.

"Well..." Kylie didn't know what to say.

Ever since Ken had been put in jail, she wasn't so close to Faith as usual.

She thought both of them were very busy, and they seldom had time to talk with each other, so they didn't feel very close to each other now.

However, she realized there was disagreement between Faith and her after Ethan's warning.

Faith's talk with Vivian in the elevator proved that she had paid attention to Vivian.

Kylie herself wasn't confident whether Faith was still loyal to her now.
