67 The Audition

The day that everyone had been waiting for arrived – the audition for the new endorser of Si Cosmetics. General Manager Wang Wei arrived to the company earlier than usual to get ready for the first part of the selection process. Before he went, he decided to call his brother, Wang Guo.

"Gege, I'm going to the company now. There are hundreds of applications because we opened it to everyone."

"Aiyoo, that's alright. That's why we have the first part of the selection. This way, we can pick the best for the company. Just do your job. I'll be there tomorrow." Wang Guo replied as he tried to encourage his brother.

Full of worry, Wang Wei sighed, "Alright, gege. I'll be going but are you sure that Elder Master Si won't be mad that Zhou Bingbing wasn't picked?"

"Aiyooo, stop thinking too much! You sound like a stick in the mud."

"…" Wang Wei remained quiet as his brother started to bully him.

"No wonder that you look older than me. Tss. Tss. Tss."

"Gege!"

"Tss. Just do as you're told. The devil will not tolerate incompetent people even if you're my brother."

After the call ended, he drove his car and went to the company. The time might be early but too much work was at hand. They had to pick the new face of Si Cosmetics within three days.

He entered his office and saw the huge pile of application forms on his desk. He scanned one and shook his head. He couldn't stop laughing as he read the name of the woman. He gazed at the picture. The woman had big eyes, big nose and big lips. Everything about her was big.

He scanned another one and stifled a laugh. This audition was laborious, as this was open for everyone, even ordinary women passed their application forms.

Still a smile plastered on his lips, he summoned his assistant through the intercom, "Lu Fengtian, come inside my office now."

A lanky man entered the room and greeted him, "A pleasant day, General Manager!"

"Same to you, Fengtian. How's the application going?"

"There are many who submitted their applications, General Manager Wang. There are still plenty on my desk. I will put them on your desk in a minute."

"Ah, this will be more taxing than I thought. Anyway, Fengtian, we will start once the clock turns 8. We have so much work to do. Did you call Manager Tang?"

"Yes, General Manager. I also called Manager Hao which you told me last night."

"Yeah, that's right. It will be easier if we're three. Prepare the room now."

"Yes, General Manager. Would that be all?"

"Yes, you may go."

The first part of the selection process would be divided into four groups – A, B, C and D. Group A would be consisted of celebrities and models with outstanding forms. The second group B would be amateurs and beginners in the entertainment industry.

They wanted to give everyone a fair chance and opportunity so they accepted everyone's application.

The clock turned 8 and Wang Wei decided to go to the room where the first part of the selection would take place.

On his way, he saw Zhou Bingbing sitting beautifully on the waiting room. He knew all of a sudden that she must be chosen. With Elder Si in mind and forgetting what Wang Guo had told him, he instantly went inside and bowed in front of her as he greeted her merrily, "How are you, Ms. Zhou? I'm General Manager Wang. Elder Master Si was right. You are indeed perfect for this."

Everyone inside the room was surprised to see the General Manager, much less see him greet one of the applicants. They all gave Zhou Bingbing a look of admiration and a hint of envy as they whispered,

"I heard she's the future miss of the Si family."

"So it's not only rumor?"

"I guess, it's true. Haaay, I'm so envious. She's really beautiful and I feel bad to even be here right now."

"Well, there's no harm in trying. We may not be chosen but at least we know that Zhou Bingbing deserves it. Aiyooo, I wish I was as pretty as her."

"Why would they even open it for everyone if that Zhou Bingbing will be chosen?" snapped Hui Ruo.

"Aiyoo, shut your mouth. It's to give us a chance."

Hui Ruo only sneered as she glanced vilely at Zhou Bingbing. She arrived earlier than Qi Xenjin to see how the selection process would proceed. She didn't see it coming that Zhou Bingbing was already the favorite. She fidgeted on her seat as she messaged Qi Xenjin.

[Come over here immediately, Xenjin. We have to get this endorsement.]

After sending her message, she scanned the room and to her dismay, on the far end was Xu Jia Li, sitting so regally that her presence would keep you drawn to her. How she envy Lan Meixu! She wished she was Xu Jia Li's manager instead. She's been hating Qi Xenjin and her prima donna antics.

If there's anyone who would be the greatest rival of Zhou Bingbing, it would be Xu Jia Li.

Qi Xenjin arrived feeling high and important, expecting other applicants to throw a look of envy on her. However, she was full of disappointment when no one even threw her a glance.

"What's wrong? Why isn't everyone noticing me?" She spent the last day getting ready. She even picked the most beautiful dress to fit for Si Cosmetics. Frowning, she scanned the room but no one even seemed to notice her.

"You have to do your best to get this endorsement. Since Li Yun doesn't want to accept any movie with you, you had been vacant for a long time. This endorsement will open many doors for you."

"Oh c'mon, Hui Ruo. You should know by now that I'm the youngest here. I'm sure I'll be chosen."

Hui Ruo could only nod her head. Disagreeing with her would only lead to a nasty argument.

"Look at that Xu bitch. What is she wearing? Hahaha! She's really pathetic."

Hui Ruo moved her gaze toward Xu Jia Li and saw that indeed, she was only wearing a white knee- length dress which flow freely at the lower part. She didn't have any make up on and her hair was left flowing on her back.

"Maybe she knew already that she won't be chosen. Look at her face, she looks so disgusting. Why would she even be here?"

Hui Ruo glanced all over the room. The rest of the ladies wore shiny dresses perfect for what Si Cosmetics stood for – elegance, beauty, shining through time.

"Believe me, she won't even passed in the initial selection." Qi Xenjin had a delighted smile on her face.

Hui Ruo noticed that each day, Qi Xenjin grew more wicked and vile. The beautiful face she once admired when she discovered her was now gone. It was replaced with so much ugliness. She shivered at the thought.

"I will make sure that I will be the one to be chosen." Qi Xenjin laughed viciously as she mused, 'Wait till you see my surprise Xu bitch!'
