Since hiking at Simatai at night was only allowed at certain areas, they could only visit the east section from Tower 1 to 6. The path towards Tower 7 to 10 were steeped so they were closed at night.
Since the cable car was closer to Tower 8, it would be the closest way to get to Simatai Wall. However, they would need to hike down later before they could get to the cable car since Tower 8 was closed at night.
They continued walking until they reached the entrance to Tower 8. True indeed, the slope was really steep and there were no walls or railings to grab for support.
"Be careful," Si Weimin reminded Xu Jia Li who was giddy with excitement.
"Yes, sir!"
He almost burst out laughing when he saw her winked at him, 'This woman is really something. Ha ha!'
Then, they began to walk towards the highest tower which was the Tower 6. By this time, they could already see the sun starting to set.
With battlements built only on the outer side of the track, some on steep cliffs the half-way style, some segments along the gentle slopes were so wide while other narrow points could only allow one person at a time to pass.
The diverse architectural styles of the beacon towers made Xu Jia Li held her breath in amazement. There were two-storey towers, some in square shape, oval shape, or hexagonal shape.
They also saw the magnificent view of the Fairy Maiden Tower and Wangjing Tower at the east part of Tower 10. These two towers stood at the top of the lofty mountains. Even if they couldn't go there, they could still see the magnificent forms of the two towers even from a distance.
"Wow! I could live here every day! I will never get tired of this sight!" Xu Jia Li uttered as she jumped in joy.
Since it was autumn, the leaves of the trees turned russet and red color. It made the winding wall looked like dragon lying on a red sea. The red leaves even covered the ridge which added to a spectacular sight.
Since the wall of Simatai wasn't high, Si Weimin reminded Xu Jia Li to be even more careful as he held her closer to him, "Don't run."
Si Weimin stopped for a while when they reached the perfect spot. He hugged Xu Jia Li from the back, "Let's stop for a while."
The two of them gazed at the sky as it began to turn a different color. The setting sun created a magnificent pink color that made the atmosphere even romantic.
Wang Guo and the three staff suffered from the sweetness of the couple. They were stuffed with dog food and they couldn't do anything but to accept it.
"Haaisst, it's really hard for us, single people to be here but let's still do our job," Wang Guo whispered at the three staff beside him. Then, he took his phone as he captured the sweet moments of the couple.
"This is really a different experience," Xu Jia Li muttered under her breath but loud enough for Si Weimin to hear.
"Are you happy?"
"More than you can think I am," Xu Jia Li stared lovingly on Si Weimin's eyes.
"When you're happy, I'm happy," he spoke softly as he gently squeezed her hand.
The deep blue hues of the night sky helped the lighted wall stood out. From where they were, they could also see all the lights from Gubei Water Town. Plenty of lanterns alongside made everything perfect.
The panoramic view of the whole water town boasted with stunning lights. It was so mesmerizing and breath- taking.

Xu Jia Li took a deep breath as she stared at the mesmerizing sight in front of her. All of a sudden, a deep longing for her mother struck her. It had been so long yet she still had that excruciating pain every time she remembered Yang Yi Fei.
Her spirit suddenly dampened as she stared longingly at the sky, "You know, I miss my mother… a lot."
"I know…"
Hearing Si Weimin's comforting voice, she felt her eyes watered. She shrugged it off before she said, "When I was young, it was always my dream to visit The Great Wall."
Not waiting for Si Weimin to respond, she continued, "I once saw a leaflet with the magnificent view from the Great Wall. I fell in love with it immediately. I used to tell mom to bring me to any of The Great Wall's sections even just for a day. Just once, I told her. But… it just never happened."
Xu Jia Li looked back at Si Weimin before she turned her gaze to the flashing lights from Gubei Water Town, "When mom died, I forgot all the things that I want to do including visiting The Great Wall. It's as if nothing matters."
Si Weimin remained quiet as he listened to Xu Jia Li.
"I thought I will never visit my childhood dream but you made me realize them again… and you gave me something even better than my childhood dream."
Xu Jia Li gazed intently at Si Weimin, her eyes a bit misty. She took his hand and put it on her face, "Thank you… for making me feel… alive again…"
Then, she slowly moved her face closer to Si Weimin without taking her eyes away from him. She wanted him to see through her eyes the feeling she had for him. It was such a big move from her usually reserved personality. But she was happy being with him, right at that moment.
When her lips landed on his lips, she gently brushed her lips on his. Feeling him respond to her kiss, she deepened it until their tongue met in a rhythm that brought pleasure to her. She touched his hair and brushed her fingers through it.
Only Si Weimin could make her feel emotions so intense, it was hard to breathe. She could never deny how much she loved him, much deeper now.
She would never ask anything than be with him… like this… all her life…
