"Yao Yao, I'm so proud of you."
Li Qin Yao laughed as she heard Han Yue Xiu's words. "You're proud of me?"
"Un, un," Han Yue Xiu nodded. She leaned back on the bench as she continued to watch a few teenagers playing basketball in an open court in front of her parents' apartment. "Who would know that this guy turned out to be scum? If I were in front of him, I'd make sure to throw him a punch or two."
Li Qin Yao heaved a long sigh. "Don't say that. After all, Chen Hao is someone I used to date. Han Yue Xiu, are you saying that I have a bad taste?"
"But Yao Yao, your relationship with Mister Zhang is going on pretty well huh?" Han Yue Xiu teased. "I still could not believe that you would bring him to meet your paternal grandparents. The last time we talk, you were still hesitant about taking Chen Hao to meet them. Yao Yao, you dated Chen Hao for a year, and you still thought that it was too early to introduce him to your paternal grandfather. How long did you know Mister Zhang? You see, you already going to introduce him to your grandfather."
Li Qin Yao let out a small chuckle. "But Zhang Yu Han's situation is different, right? He did know that I am my grandfather's granddaughter because we are working together on that project."
"Ey, How can it be different? If it was different, then Mister Zhang would be coming to meet your grandfather as a business partner, not as your plus one, alright?"
Li Qin Yao let out a nervous laugh.
Han Yue Xiu once told her that, if he's not the one, then, even if she had dated someone for ten years, she would still think that it was too early to introduce that person to her paternal grandparents.
Since she was ready to introduce Zhang Yu Han to her paternal grandparents, then, does it mean that subconsciously she had thought of him as the one?
"At this pace, I'm scared that you might get sweep away to be Mrs. Zhang before I return," Han Yue Xiu said. "Yao Yao, you can go and get that red book, but if you're going to hold a wedding, you have to wait until I return, alright? I still want to attend your wedding and be your bridesmaid."
"Good, I'll wait for you to return. But you still need to prepare a big red packet for me."
The two friends joked around a while longer. Once the phone call ended, Han Yue Xiu stood up and stretched up her body. Just as she was about to pick up the bag of snacks on the bench, Han Yue Xiu noticed an incoming object heading towards her.
Due to her good reflex, Han Yue Xiu managed to catch the ball.
Suddenly, the sounds of clapping could be heard.
"Auntie! Great catch!" one of the boys said. "Can you pass that ball to me?"
Han Yue Xiu felt the corner of her mouth started to twitched. She did not think that she was too old to be called auntie by this group of teenagers. Han Yue Xiu glanced at the ball and smiled. "Alright." She bounced the ball on the floor a few times before she shot the ball into the hoop.
The ball hit the hoop once before it entered.
Then the sound of clapping was heard again, this time, it was louder.
"Auntie, you're awesome!" One of the boys said.
"I bet it was pure luck."
Han Yue Xiu let out a chuckle. "Don't look down on me, alright? Back then, I was a member of a basketball club and an MVP, alright?"
"Auntie, how about teaching us how to shoot like that?"
Han Yue Xiu raised a brow. "You want me to teach you?" she watched the boy nodded and continued, "How about calling me pretty sister instead?"
Once they're reached for an agreement, Han Yue Xie then stayed at the basketball court to coach the boys some shooting technique.
Perhaps it has been a while since the last time she had some exercise, or perhaps it was due to her age, but after twenty minutes, Han Yue Xiu found that her body was sweating and it was harder for her to catch her breath.
Han Yue Xiu walked over to the bench and pick up a bottle of juice to quench her thirst. After a while, she began to notice that something was not right.
Swiftly, Han Yue Xiu turned around.
It might be because she was paranoid, but Han Yue Xiu had this feeling as if she was watched.
After she had rested enough, Han Yue Xiu said goodbye to the boys and went up to her parents' apartment. From a distance away, Han Yue Xiu could see that the door was ajar and there were sounds of laughter coming from her parents' place.
Han Yue Xiu frowned at the thought that a guest was coming over. She tidied up her look and took a deep breath before she entered. However, once she saw that man beside her mother, Han Yue Xiu could only stare at them with her eyes wide and her mouth open.
This person… why was he here? It has been more than a month since the last time she had seen him. Didn't he leave some time ago?
"Ey? Yue Xiu, you're back," Mother Han greeted when she saw her daughter at the door.
Han Yue Xiu snapped out of her trance after a few seconds. Her gaze met with Song Yi and Han Yue Xiu immediately shot him a hostile look. Then, she turned to her mother and asked, "Mom, what is this person doing here?"
Mother Han stood up and smiled. "Yue Xiu, let me introduce you to our neighbor, Mister Song. We met downstairs and he helped me with some stuff earlier. Mister Song has moved over last month, but this is the first time we met him."
Han Yue Xiu could feel her anger bubbling as she heard what her mother said. "Mom, he's a pervert!"
"Ah?" Mother Han looked at her daughter in dumbfounded before she shifted her eyes to Song Yi with a judgemental look.
"Auntie, I'm not a pervert," Song Yi quickly clarified. "Your daughter and I are an acquaintance. Previously, there was a bit of misunderstanding between us."
Knowing her daughter's character as someone who would often throw tantrums, Mother Han was quick to take Song Yi's side. "You two know each other?" She watched Song Yi nodded and smiled. "Then, why don't you two have a chat. Yue Xiu, you take care of our guests here. I'm going to the kitchen to cook."
Han Yue Xiu took a few deep breaths to calm down. She decided to ignore this man and headed straight to her room. But before she could make her escape, she felt a grip around her right arm.
"Han Yue Xiu, we need to talk."
