Chapter 215 - Wife

Li Qin Yao turned around and stared at the building in front of her in a daze. Then, her head tilted downwards and her gaze stopped at the red book in her hand.

Her heart experienced an indescribable feeling. There was joy, and also a bit of confusion. She did not think that she know what had happened. Ten minutes earlier, she was still unmarried, but now with the red book in her hand, her status had changed to a married woman.

Everything felt surreal. 

How did everything change so fast?

Li Qin Yao thought that she had no time to process everything in her head. It was as if everything around her was moving at a fast pace. 

That morning, Zhang Yu Han had appeared at the door with the brightest smile she had ever seen. It was impossible not to see how happy and excited he was upon seeing her face.

Li Qin Yao still remembered the feeling she had when she had seen his expression. Her heart skipped a beat and her stomach somersaulted. The smile on his face affected her and she followed to smile along with him.

As she grabbed her bag, her mother had said something to her, but she did not think that she could hear anything that her mother had said. However, the man beside her continued to nod his head with a serious expression on his face. At least she knew that he was still listening to her mother's words, while she could only nod her head absentmindedly.

Zhang Yu Han then drove over to the Civil Affairs Bureau. The two of them got off the car and Zhang Yu Han held her hand as he led her into the building. When they walked in, Wei Jun Hao has been waiting for them. The two friends chatted briefly before Wei Jun Hao handed Zhang Yu Han with some papers that they had filled in.

The two of them sat down and waited for their turn. Li Qin Yao remembered the feeling of his damp palm. Although Zhang Yu Han had that calm expression on his face, she could see that he too was nervous as she was. Slowly, her feeling was at ease. She tightened her grip on his hand, knowing that she was not alone. 

Their turn came sooner than she had expected.

Surprisingly, he had even prepared some candies to be distributed among the staff.

Everything was moving on so smoothly.

The two of them walked out of the bureau and now, she was standing in front of it, trying to process this overwhelming feeling in her heart.

Li Qin Yao turned to look at Zhang Yu Han who was speaking something to Wei Jun Hao. As if noticing the way she was looking at him, Zhang Yu Han turned and smiled,

Once their gaze locked, Li Qin Yao found that it was very hard to look away. His gaze was very tender and loving. She saw the way he extended his hand to her and she obediently walked over to him.

"Miss Li, oh no, I should address you as Mrs. Zhang right now, right?" Wei Jun Hao teased, causing her to be embarrassed. "Congratulation."

"Thank you," Li Qin Yao managed to speak.

Wei Jun Hao suppressed his laugh under his friend's intense gaze. He then turned to Zhang Yu Han to remind him about meeting with the boys to celebrate. Then, he turned around and leave the newlyweds alone.

Li Qin Yao watched as Wei Jun Hao's vehicle left the area and suddenly felt Zhang Yu Han's arms wrapping around her body. Her ear was pressed against his ċhėst and she could hear the loud thumping of his heart.

"Wife. My Wife"

His words turned her face crimson. Li Qin Yao felt this sensation as if her head exploded. She bit back her smile, but that soft giggle still escaped her lips.

Her laugh surprised her and it made her wonder how Zhang Yu Han could make her act like a blushing teenager.

She then encircled her arms around his body to return his hug. It was the only thing that she could do as she was too embarrassed to say anything. It was the only way she could tell him what she was feeling at that moment. 

Although she still could not register how everything was suddenly moving too fast between them, Li Qin Yao was glad that she had taken the step and married this man.

As she felt the warmth radiating from his body, Li Qin Yao knew that she was not making a mistake by marrying Zhang Yu Han.

Even if things might not work out for them in the future, Li Qin Yao knew that she would never regret the decision she had made at this time. 

"What are you thinking about?"

She snapped out of her trance and inhaled his familiar scent. "Nothing. Just that everything happened so quickly that it almost felt like a dream," Li Qin Yao said. She silently gave herself a pinch on her hand and winced at the pain.

It was such a soft and tender kiss but Li Qin Yao could feel his longing in that kiss.

Though she was shy to be kissed in public, Li Qin Yao found herself unable to resist him and could only respond to him.

"Does this still felt like a dream?" Zhang Yu Han asked as he pulled away.

She laughed when he gave her a teasing gaze. "Somewhat." 

"Come on. Let's go," Zhang Yu Han said as he pulled away. "There are still a few things that we need to do. Then, we need to be back home for lunch. Didn't mom said that she'll cook a meal for us?"

Li Qin Yao was about to ask him about this 'mom', but she quickly registered that he had changed the way he addressed her mother as 'mom'. 

As Li Qin Yao fastened the seat belt, she turned to Zhang Yu Han and wondered how did get used to their new situation quickly. She watched him turned back at her and realized that she had asked the question out loud.

Zhang Yu Han had a smile on his face as he continued to stare at her face. "Because I have been waiting for this moment for a long time."

Li Qin Yao watched him dumbfoundedly. Then, before she could say anything else, he had turned his attention to the road and drove away.
