Chapter 222 - A Reward

Li Qin Yao noticed the way Zhang Yu Han has been looking at her for the last ten minutes and knew what was on his mind.

Earlier, he had helped her to go through a few documents, and with his help, she was able to finish her work earlier and the piling of documents on her table was all sorted out and signed. 

Of course, right now, her husband was waiting for that reward that she had promised to give him. But instead of mentioning anything about the reward, Li Qin Yao only told him that she was going to visit her cafe, Lilium which was a few blocks away from the office.

Looking at his slightly pouting face, Li Qin Yao did whether she should laugh. It was strange for someone who always had a serious look on his face to have this adorable face. But of course, she knew that this was a side of him that he would not show to other people.

Turning to look at Zhang Yu Han with a helpless smile on her face, Li Qin Yao then leaned forward to give a peck on his cheek. "Your reward."

Zhang Yu Han looked at her with an astonished expression, but the pouting face immediately appeared again. "How can that be enough as a reward?"

Li Qin Yao tilted her head sideways. "Then, what should I do to reward you?"

To answer the question, Zhang Yu Han sunk his hand into her hair and pulled her forward to kiss her on the lips and plunging even deeper to taste the sweetness on her lips. 

He had wanted to kiss her earlier as he continued to watch her at work, but he did not want to disturb her at work. Now that he had the chance to do what he could not do earlier, Zhang Yu Han took his time to quench his thirst by kissing her senselessly.

When he finally pulled away, Li Qin Yao had to gasp for air.

Zhang Yu Han watched her reddened face and extended his hand to fix her messy hair. With a smile, he then said, "My reward."

Zhang Yu Han took a seat near the window and watched as his wife walked back and forth, giving a few instructions to the staff. Soon, she walked over to him with a stack of papers in her hand. 

"Aren't you tired running around back and forth managing the two business?" Zhang Yu Han asked with concern. They were newlyweds and he had hope that his wife would pay more attention to him. But Zhang Yu Han did not want to stop her doing what she loved doing.

He had long known that his wife can be a workaholic.

"It wasn't so bad," she answered. "Qing Kong can be as reliable as a manager. I only have to come and check on them once a week and that should be enough. Back then, I decided to go into F&B after I resigned from QL and came to live with my mother. I have free time and running a cafe can be fun and rewarding."

As if remembering something, Li Qin Yao put down the paperwork in her hand. "You haven't met everyone here, right? Let me introduce you to everyone."

She stood up and extended her hand to him. Holding hands, the two of them walked into the back of the cafe where Li Qin Yao had asked Qing Kong to gather everyone. After introducing the staff to Zhang Yu Han, the cafe staff had a puzzled look on their face as they wondered what was going on.

"You guys should know Zhang Yu Han, right?" Li Qin Yao almost laughed as she watched the way the others nodded cautiously. "Let me introduce him again. Everyone, this is Zhang Yu Han, my husband."

There was a long silence as the staff began to question their hearing. 

"You got married?" It was Yin Mei Xuan who broke the silence.

"Hmm," Li Qin Yao nodded. "We got our certificate a few days ago."

Yin Mei Xuan let out a few cursing words in her excitement. Meanwhile, Auntie Yu looked at their boss with a worried look. "Why did you get married so suddenly?"

"Right," Yin Mei Xuan nodded. "Yao Yao, are you pregnant? Hey, don't tell me that this a shotgun marriage?"

Li Qin Yao's face darkened at her friend's question. "Yin Mei Xuan, don't talk nonsense."

The girl laughed as she instinctively hid behind Auntie Yu.

Seeing the way his wife and her staff interacted, Zhang Yu Han had a smile on her face. Once the chaotic atmosphere has quietened down, Zhang Yu Han greeted the staff amiably. "Thank you for looking after my wife. I hope that everyone will come when we hold our wedding banquet."

The couple left the cafe after Li Qin Yao was done browsing through a few documents and stopped by the grocery store to get some ingredients. 

In the past, Zhang Yu Han would always have dinner outside before returning to his place. Because of that, he had never paid too much attention to the ingredients in the kitchen. Luckily, his wife was able to cook him some congee using whatever ingredients he has in his kitchen. 

But now that the two are living together, it would not be good for them to always eat out. In the end, Li Qin Yao suggested for them to stop by the grocery store to get a few things.

Pushing the cart in her hand, Li Qin Yao tilted her head up to look at her tall husband. "What do you want to eat tonight? Since you have helped me to look over the documents today, I'll cook whatever you want as a reward."

"Don't look at me like that," Li Qin Yao said with a frown. Looking at his expression, Li Qin Yao had a hunch that he had no confidence in her culinary skill. "As a cafe owner, of course, I know to cook a few things. Moreover, my paternal grandmother happened to be an excellent cook. When I live in Capital City with my grandparents, I have learned a lot from my grandmother."

"You… will let me eat whatever I want?"

Li Qin Yao nodded, but suddenly she had a premonition that Zhang Yu Han was up to no good.

On cue, Zhang Yu Han bent down to whisper something to her ear. When he straightened up again, his wife's face had turned red and she was covering her face with both hands.

It was not fair.

The thing he said coupled with his deep, vibrating voice was messing with her head. Suddenly, she could feel as if the place below her abdomen was burning from anticipation.

Peeking through her fingers, Li Qin Yao shot him an angry look before she pushed the cart and tried to ignore the man who was looking at her teasingly.
