Chapter 227 - Inconsiderate Couple

Han Yue Xiu was starting to regret her decision to accept her friend's invitation to have breakfast together.

Last night, she had received a call from Li Qin Yao, asking her to join her for breakfast at The Orchid, a hotel belonged to Zhang Group Worldwide. Thinking that it would be rare for her to meet with her friend while having a free meal, Han Yue Xiu quickly agreed.

Who would have thought that instead of enjoying breakfast like she thought she would, Han Yue Xiu would be fed with dog food instead?

As she looked at the couple who sat across her, Han Yue Xiu was in a state of disbelief.

Her friend, Li Qin Yao, was enjoying her meal being fed by her boyfriend while displaying their affections.

It was only a few weeks ago since she last saw them together, but when did they become so sticky?

Although there was no kissing involved, just looking at the way the two of them exchanged their gaze would give her goosebumps.

Han Yue Xiu wanted to ask her friend question, she could not do it in front of Zhang Yu Han. She could only send Li Qin Yao a questioning look, but it did not seem as if this friend bȧrėly notice the look on her face. Her attention was fully on her boyfriend.

This couple was really inconsiderate towards her, a single dog. It was too frustrating!

At this time, Han Yue Xiu was wondering if she was invited to this luxury hotel to be fed with dog food. She was not able to eat her breakfast from the buffet to her heart contents as she had planned.

Fortunately, she did not have to endure their PDA the whole day.

After breakfast, Zhang Yu Han finally looked at Li Qin Yao and said, "I'll leave the two of you alone as it has been a while since you met and talk." A smile curved on his lips as he continued, "I'll be in the office to discuss a few things with Xiao Ye. Call me when you're done. I'll come and pick you up."

Zhang Yu Han left after he planted a kiss on his wife's forehead.

Once Zhang Yu Han disappeared from her eyesight, Han Yue Xiu quickly stood up and sat beside her friend. "Yao Yao! Did you invite me to breakfast so that you can stuff me with dog food?"

Li Qin Yao blinked her eyes innocently. "What are you talking about?

Han Yue Xiu narrowed her eyes at her friend and stared at her suspiciously.

Looking at the expression on Han Yue Xiu's face, Li Qin Yao did not know whether she wanted to laugh or cry. Li Qin Yao gathered herself and spoke with a serious expression and tone. "Yue Xiu, I have something to tell you."

Staring into her friend's eyes for a few seconds, Li Qin Yao then said, "I'm married."

Just like everyone else, it took Han Yue Xiu a while before she could react. Her mouth formed a large 'O' as she stared at her friend with a shock expression.

"Zhang Yu Han and I obtained our marriage certificate earlier this week."

Han Yue Xiu let out a cursing word as her brain could properly process what she had heard. The first thing she does was to glance at her friend's hand.

Seeing that there was no ring on her finger, Han Yue Xiu shot her friend an accusation gaze. "You're lying, right?"

"Why would I lie about this?"

"There's no ring on your finger."

Li Qin Yao stared at her hand and realized that the two of them did not have their wedding rings. A frown appeared on her face as she made a mental note to mention this matter to Zhang Yu Han.

"I'm not lying," Li Qin Yao said. She took out her phone and showed her friend a few snapshots of their marriage certificate.

"Yao Yao, congratulation!" Han Yue Xiu pulled her friend into a tight hug. She pulled away and frowned angrily. "But, why do you wait until now to tell me? Am I still your friend?"

Li Qin Yao laughed. "Everything was done in a hurry, so I didn't have time to tell you. Anyway, since I'm here to visit my grandparents, I thought it would be better if I tell you this personally."

"What is this, a shotgun marriage?"

"Why does everyone thought this is a shotgun marriage?"

"You admitted it yourself. Everything was done in a hurry. Of course, I would get suspicious," Han Yue Xiu pointed out.

Now that she recalled the way the couple acted earlier, Han Yue Xiu suddenly realized that they were behaving just like newlyweds! The two of them were still in their honeymoon phase!

Curious, Han Yue Xiu began to ask her friend a series of questions on how they were suddenly married, and Li Qin Yao answered them patiently. Then the girls' conversation moved from Han Yue Xiu's mother to the apartment that Li Qin Yao had introduced to her earlier.

At this time, the phone in Han Yue Xiu's bag started to buzz. She took out her phone and stared at the caller ID for a few seconds longer before she decided to accept the call.

However, after pressing the phone against her ear, Han Yue Xiu did not speak a word. After a minute has passed, Han Yue Xiu spoke only one sentence before she hung out the call.

"That ex-boss of yours is still disturbing you?" Li Qin Yao asked. Of course, as they were sitting side by side, Li Qin Yao had seen the name on the caller ID.

"It's not like that," Han Yue Xiu smiled slightly, but there was a complicated look on her face. "He was planning to start over a company and wanted me to help him. After thinking about it for a long time, I agreed."

"You agreed?"

"Hmm," Han Yue Xiu said lazily. "But this time, he is going to make me a partner. This time, he won't be able to boss me around and after hearing the benefit he was going to give me, I thought that I would be an idiot to reject it. So I accepted."

Li Qin Yao looked at her friend worriedly, but knowing Han Yue Xiu, she knew that her friend would be able to handle things well. "Since you have thought things through, then, I can only wish you the best. However, Yue Xiu, please don't suddenly show up at my apartment and say that you quit your job."

Han Yue Xiu laughed as she recalled pulling those stunts not too long ago. "You're married to Mister Zhang now. Even if I wanted to show up at your apartment, I will have to think twice. It's either your husband might throw me out, or I will have to suffer by eating more dog food!"
