Chapter 229 - Wedding Ring

As it was after office hours, there were a lot of people in the mall. Afraid that someone was going to bump into his petite wife, Zhang Yu Han wrapped his arm on her shoulders, pulling her closer to him. 

"What are you looking for?" Zhang Yu Han asked as he bent his head to speak closely to her ears.

Li Qin Yao let out a soft giggle when she felt his ticklish breath on her ear. She tilted up her head to meet his gaze and smiled mysteriously. "You will know soon."

Seeing his wife's teasing gaze, Zhang Yu Han had the urge to kiss her lips. But considering that they were both in public, he could only give a light squeeze on her shoulder and a kiss on her forehead.

An elderly couple who happened to walk past them smiled at Li Qin Yao.

She returned the smile and shyly turned her head to bury her face in her husband's ċhėst. She was suddenly reminded of his words not too long ago. It was true that their difference made it easier for him to hide her away from others.

As they arrived at the jewelry store, Li Qin Yao stopped and looked at Zhang Yu Han again.

"You wanted to buy some jewelry?" Zhang Yu Han asked. Although he did not mind accompanying his wife to shop around, Zhang Yu Han could not help but be curious. Perhaps because she worked in her cafe, his wife had this habit of not wearing any jewelry on her hand.

"Un," Li Qin Yao nodded. A blush crept on her face as she said, "Zhang Yu Han, let's get our wedding ring."

Zhang Yu Han was stunned at her words. His gaze fell on their intertwined hands and realized for the first time that the two of them was not wearing a wedding ring on their finger.

Pulling her closer to his embrace, Zhang Yu Han then said, "Sorry. It was my negligence. I should have bought us wedding rings earlier, but it must have skipped my mind."

The couple then walked into the store holding hands. An attendant immediately greeted them at the door and introduced them to various styles of rings. 

After looking around and a long discussion, the couple chose a set of platinum rings. Although it was slightly expensive, the design was very simple and the style was something that the couple liked.

Zhang Yu Han finally completed the payment after the couple had argued for a while about paying.

His wife has requested to let her pay for half of it. But of course, her request was rejected. Zhang Yu Han had then spent a few minutes to convince her why he should be the one who paid for their rings.

In the end, Li Qin Yao lost their debate and watched with a heavy heart as Zhang Yu Han swiped his card at the counter.

Cradling her face with one hand, Li Qin Yao looked at her husband and a random thought crossed her mind. "Zhang Yu Han, I have a feeling that if you are an insurance salesman, you would be able to convince me into buying policies from you."

Zhang Yu Han laughed when he heard her mentioning insurance salesman. He felt as if it has been a long time since he had pretended to be an insurance salesman, but why did his wife still remember this kind of stuff.

"The way you talk can be so convincing," Li Qin Yao said with a slight pout on her face. 

The shop attendant slid a paper bag to both of them with a polite smile on her face. Li Qin Yao took out the ring from the box and reached for Zhang Yu Han's hand to slip the ring on his finger. She stared at the ring on his finger and her lips curved into a satisfied smile. 

Zhang Yu Han looked at the ring on his finger with a dazed expression before he did the same. He took her hand in his and slid the ring on her finger. His movement was slow as if he was trying to savor this moment. When the ring reached the end of her finger, Zhang Yu Han lifted his gaze to stare at his wife's eyes.

Suddenly, the two of them could hear the sounds of clapping. Turning around, the couple saw that the shop attendant had gathered her friends and everyone was clapping their hands while giving them congratulatory words. 

The couple thanked everyone in the store before Li Qin Yao grabbed her husband's hand and dragged him out of the store with a bashful expression.

"Why do you suddenly think of getting a wedding ring?" Zhang Yu Han asked as they were walking towards the car park. 

Li Qin Yao turned to him and stared at his face. She suddenly thought that her husband was getting more good looking the more she looked at him. Of course, after he married her, his charm was more apparent.

"Of course it was to let the others know that you are taken," Li Qin Yao said.

A wide and contented smile curled on his lips. Zhang Yu Han was suddenly reminded of how his wife has reacted when a friend of Yu Ying appeared, calling him 'Brother Yu Han' intimately. He had sensed her jealousy but thought that it was not wise for him to pointed it out. After all, his wife was someone who gets shy easily.

At the thought that QL has arranged a dinner party and invited everyone who is involved in the project, Zhang Yu Han was relieved that the two of them had got themselves their wedding ring. At least, if his wife's ex came to disturb her again, he would see the ring on her finger and knew that he no longer stand a chance.

The two of them were almost approaching his Cayenne when Zhang Yu Han noticed that his wife had suddenly stopped. He turned to her saw that she was looking at a direction. He followed her gaze and frowned when he did not see anything strange. Squeezing her hand softly, Zhang Yu Han asked, "What's wrong?"

Li Qin Yao snapped out of her thought and shook her head. "Nothing. I just thought that I saw a familiar face. But perhaps I was mistaken."

When Zhang Yu Han came out of the bathroom, his wife was sitting on the bed, staring at the wedding ring on her finger with a sheepish smile on her face. Seeing her expression, Zhang Yu Han could not help but let out a chuckle. "Are you that happy?"

Li Qin Yao tore her gaze away from the ring and turned to him. "Un," she nodded enthusiastically. "The feeling is different once I have a ring on my finger."

"If I know that this will make you very happy, I would have taken you to buy a wedding ring sooner," Zhang Yu Han said.

Seeing that he was drying his hair, Li Qin Yao got off the bed to help him. Because he was too tall for her, she could only ask him to sit down properly. Once she was done, Li Qin Yao handed the towel back to him and pulled his hand to stare at the ring on his finger.

Zhang Yu Han let out a laugh as he watched the excitement on her face.

Recently, he found that his wife was adorable when she was excited about something. The smile on her face reminded him of a kid who got excited after receiving some candies.

"Zhang Yu Han."

"Hmm?" Hearing her calling out his name with her sweet voice, Zhang Yu Han then leaned forward to kiss her on the forehead. When he lifted his gaze to meet hers, Zhang Yu Han found himself lost in her eyes.

"From now on, you're bound to me and I to you."

His wife was such a temptress...

Feeling something ignited within him, Zhang Yu Han tossed the towel in his hand aside before he pulled his wife to his ŀȧp and started to rain her with his kisses everywhere.
