Capital City…
Li Mu Chen entered the house with a ghastly face and the first thing she wanted to do was to find her mother. However, before she could take another step, the butler has already stopped her on her track. Without saying anything, the elderly man had already extended his hand to her.
"You know the rules," the elderly butler said.
Li Mu Chen gritted her teeth in anger as she took out her phone from her bag, and handed it to the elderly man. Although she wanted to say a few nasty things to the butler, Li Mu Chen knew that she could not say or do anything to this man.
Although he was recently hired as the family's butler, Li Mu Chen knew that this man was not an ordinary butler as he was employed by her father to look after her mother. Just by looking at the butler's physique, one would be able to guess that he had undergone tough military training.
Li Jing was afraid that his wife would cause chaos before her trial begin and therefore, he had locked her mother in the house and hired a few people to look after her.
Zhao Wei was living in a luxury house, but her life was without freedom. Her ex-husband had imprisoned her and took away every means for her to contact anyone. She was not allowed to use the computer or her phone. Every time Li Mu Chen came to visit her mother, she would have to leave her phone or any other device she carried at the door before she could enter.
Stomping her feet in anger, Li Mu Chen went upstairs. She knocked on the door twice and pushed the door open. Her mouth gaped when she saw the condition of the room that looked as if it was raided by thief just a moment ago.
"How was it? Did you contact them?"
Li Mu Chen turned to the direction of the voice and frowned at her mother's disheveled look. Her mother's usual elegance was long gone.
"Mu Chen, tell me! Did you contact them? Did they agree with our request?" Zhao Wei continued to ask. "I don't mind how much money they need as long as they can help me to do some tasks."
"Mom, I contacted them," Li Mu Chen said. "I don't know what happened, but suddenly, they changed their mind and none of them are willing to take any task."
Zhao Wei's expression changed greatly and her daughter took a step back as she was suddenly scared.
"What did you do?" Zhao Wei shrieked. "You can't even do a thing right! All I ask was for you to contact those men. How difficult it is for you?"
"I did everything to your instruction. At first, some of them had answered and showed their interest, but I don't know what happened. They suddenly changed their mind. Every one of them."
Zhao Wei started to pace around back and forth. Her brain started to rake for ideas. She would prefer to do everything herself, but right now, she was imprisoned in her own house without any other way to contact the outside world. No one in the house dared to help her with anything.
Someone came knocking on the door and both Zhao Wei and Li Mu Chen turned around. Seconds later, the maid who was in charge of tidying up Zhao Wei's room walked in with a large white envelope in her hand.
"Madame, Young Miss, someone came and deliver this letter for Madame earlier," the maid said. She passed the documents to Zhao Wei and hastily made her escape.
Zhao Wei tore at the envelope impatiently. Her expression gradually turned ugly as she read the letter from the court.
Her trial was brought forward to next Monday!

Back in Y City…
Zhang Yu Han had a smile on his face as he watched his wife and mother discussed something about the wedding.
A few days earlier, Zhang Yu Han had noticed that she was under the weather after she had heard about what Li Mu Chen was planning to do to her. Now that she was discussing the tablecloth for their wedding, her good mood returned.
He was relieved to see that the wedding talk was distracting her from thinking too much about her family matters.
Zhang Yu Han turned around when he saw his father gestured for him to follow him. He spoke a few words to his wife before he walked upstairs to enter his grandfather's office.
"Have you solved everything?" Zhang Jing immediately asked as his grandson shut the door behind him.
Zhang Yu Han took a seat next to his father and told him his plan and what he had done. After he had finished, Zhang Yu Han could not help but noticed the disappointed look on Zhang Jing's face.
"I know what you were thinking, Grandfather," Zhang Yu Han said. "I was unhappy with her decision too, but Qin Yao told me that the only reason she wanted to let her cousin go this time is for her grandfather and her second uncle's family."
"That old man had such a good granddaughter, but look at how he had treated her in the past." Zhang Jing snorted. He had heard how Li Ren Xin chose to listen to others instead of his granddaughter and was furious at Li Qin Yao's grandfather.
"Qin Yao hoped that once Zhao Wei was imprisoned, Li Mu Chen would stop doing bad things," Zhang Yu Han continued. "My wife thinks that her cousin was too heavily influenced by her mother. Therefore, Qin Yao wanted to give her cousin one last chance."
Zhang Xi let out a helpless sigh. "Your wife… she's too soft against those people."
Zhang Yu Han raised a brow at his father. "I like her this way."
"She was only soft because she did not want that old man, Li Ren Xin to worry. We all know that Li Ren Xin's health was not that good after recently. Qin Yao was only being considerate of her elders. I don't see anything wrong with that," Zhang Jing said.
Zhang Xi looked at his father speechlessly. Earlier, that old man was still criticizing Zhang Yu Han about how he had dealt with this matter. But now that his father knew that every decision was as what his granddaughter-in-law wanted, Zhang Jing had suddenly changed his mind.
