Chapter 289 - Fan Yun Xi's Wedding

On Saturday, Li Qin Yao was dressed in a rose gold princess cut dress to attend Fan Yun Xi's wedding. Li Qin Yao left her husband in the corridor before she entered the room to look for her friend.

When Li Qin Yao opened the door to the dressing room, she could see that her friend was sitting at the chair silently as the makeup artist brushed some color at her cheek. Seeing the situation, Li Qin Yao stood at the side and waited.

Once the makeup artist was done with her cheek, Fan Yun Xi suddenly stood up and turned around. "Yao Yao! You've arrived!" She stopped in the middle and spun around in the room.

Li Qin Yao looked at the bride who was wearing a long, glittery white wedding dress with a bouquet of fresh flowers in her hands. The smile on Fan Yun Xi's face showed how happy she was at the moment.

"Yao Yao, how do I look?"

"Like a princess."

Fan Yun Xi smiled before she walked over to her friend and the two hugged each other for a long time.

"Yun Xi, congratulations on your wedding!"

Fan Yun Xi patted her friend at her back. "Hey, you too. Next month, it's going to be your turn to become a bride."

Li Qin Yao laughed at her words. Once they were parted, Li Qin Yao moved to look at her friend's stomach.

Sensing her gaze, Fan Yun Xi put a hand on her stomach and smiled bashfully. "It still felt weird to have something growing up in my body," she suddenly paused and her expression changed. "Yao Yao, do you think I look fat?"

"Of course not," Li Qin Yao quickly answered. "The baby is still so small. Where do you look fat?"

"It's already entering the fourth month," Fan Yun Xi said. "Fortunately, the dress is loose enough and the style is hiding my body. Or else, you might see the little bump."

The two friends chatted a little bit about the wedding and Fan Yun Xi's pregnancy before Li Qin Yao excused herself. Anyway, since it was her wedding, Fan Yun Xi was going to be busy with the preparation.

Li Qin Yao caught the sight of her husband leaning on the wall as he was waiting for her. His phone was in his hand and Li Qin Yao could guess that he was looking at a few emails from work.

From where she stood, Li Qin Yao could see a few girls checking out her husband, but dare not to approach him due to the air around him. After admiring her husband's good look for a while, Li Qin Yao walked over to her husband and stopped.

Zhang Yu Han lifted his gaze and a warm smile appeared on his lips. "You're here?"

"Un," she nodded. "Yun Xi still has a lot to do to get ready. I don't feel good to stay around longer and delay everyone else's work."

Holding hands, the couple then walked in into the banquet hall. When they entered the hall, a few friends from her university greeted her. Li Qin Yao introduced them to her husband and chatted with them before she walked over to her seat when the reception was about to start.

Fortunately, Li Qin Yao was seated with those friends that she was comfortable with. Therefore, she was able to enjoy the feast and chatted around freely.

Because she had not met with them for years, there were a lot of things to talk about. Li Qin Yao was surprised upon learning that Fu Rong, who was quite close to her and Fan Yun Xi during university was now a mother of twin boys.

Li Qin Yao played with the twin for a while before the kids run around to play with others. Fu Rong's husband whispered a few words to his wife before turned to watch over the kids.

As she continued to catch up with her friends, Li Qin Yao felt Zhang Yu Han drawing circles in her palm and suddenly turned around. Their gaze met and a smile bloomed on her face.

At this time, Fu Rong's husband returned to the table holding the twin boys in each of his hands. He left one of the twins to his wife and brought the other one to the washroom.

Fu Rong let out a sigh as she watched her husband's back view. She turned to Li Qin Yao and spoke again, "Let me tell you, having a twin boy can be a headache." Then, she turned to her son and warned him to behave with her eyes.

Seeing the way his mother looked at him, the little boy ran around the table and stopped at Zhang Yu Han's side. He then stared at Zhang Yu Han for a long time, with his wide eyes. Suddenly, the boy went closer to Zhang Yu Han and held his hand.

Zhang Yu Han bent down to the little boy's level and smiled. "Do you want to sit with me?"

The little boy nodded a few times before he extended his small arms, asking the ȧduŀt to lift him.

"Bai Yong Ze, you come here and don't disturb others," Fu Rong called.

"It's fine," Zhang Yu Han waved his hand. He lifted the little boy with ease and put him on his ŀȧps.

"He's not afraid of strangers," Li Qin Yao commented.

Fu Rong nodded. "Hmm... Sometimes, my husband and I were worried about this." She watched as her son interacted with Zhang Yu Han and became more at ease when she saw that her son was behaving himself. She then turned to Li Qin Yao and the two of them continued to chat and gossip.

Surprisingly, the little boy was obedient as he sat on Zhang Yu Han's ŀȧps.

While Li Qin Yao was chatting with her friends, she could not help but listen to her husband's conversation with that little boy. Li Qin Yao stole a few glances at how her husband was interacting with the boy and smiled.

Not too long after, Fu Rong's husband came back and the little boy slid off from Zhang Yu Han's ŀȧps and ran to his father.

Fu Rong turned around when her husband had returned to her side. They took the twin to their side and busied themselves to feed the kids.

Seeing that her friend was preoccupied with something else, Li Qin Yao leaned on her seat and grabbed her husband's hand.

"Zhang Yu Han, I didn't think that you're quite good with kids."

He played with her fingers and spoke, "Your friend's kid was quite obedient. It was not hard to look after him."

Li Qin Yao tilted her head as she continued to stare at her husband. Then, she leaned closer to him and whispered, "Seeing you with kids suddenly makes me think... of how much I want to carry your child right now."

Zhang Yu Han froze when he heard her words. He watched her pulled away and his pupils grew darker as their gaze met.
